    Name:

    Bene ab Piuso

    Birthdate: Augustus 21, 330 (22 years)

    Description:

The man before you is tall, his build lean and healthy.  A long, thin nose runs down his thin face between two eyes, blue-grey in color and stirred with compassion and depth. Set upon a strong chin is a thin mouth.  His skin is pale and glows subtely with youth.  However, some force seems still to have taken its toll on him, the ever so subtle signs of a solemnity and wisdom far past the apparant indication of an age not but a few summers past his twentieth year are reflected deep in his features.  His hair, sable, is cut to a conservative, short length. He is well kept, hair combed and well tended, and his face is clean cut. Smooth, unblesmished skin running over chiseled high cheek bones.

    Background:

Benedictus was brought up in a devout family of average means from the Barony of Irisum. From an early age, he marvelled at the wonderous world of the faith and himself dreamed of position in the Holy Order. He had for many years a special dedication to the Mass and thought he might become a parish priest. However, as he studied, he came across the chance to see the faith in its most drastic action in the burning of heretics. On the spot, he decided he would like to be an inquisitor. His family vowed to support this endeavour and now, after ample time, he came to Lithmore set on his dream, entering after some interview. However, soon after his father fell ill and he had to take a leave of absence to care for him.  Months later, he returned to Lithmore, his father having made a full recovery. Cardinal Tartaryn welcomed him back and set him at the level of acolyte, setting him on many tasks. In the end his hard work paid off and he was called to take the White, becoming a priest and joining as a junior member of the Cathedral Chapter. In an unexpected move, the Holy Church announced Father Piuso was to fill the vacant office of the Bishop of Lithmore, dedicting him to pastoral work but also opening the door for him to work in the Inquisition. Shortly after rising to the bishopric, Cardinal Tartaryn, who many speak of as the mentor of this cleric, perished at the hands of a mage and Benedictus, though young, was called to take her place by the Holy Synod.

He left the Cardinalate for undisclosed reasons.

    Traits:

Loyal to his friends and his values

    Moral to the bitter end

Good manner, though strict. Rarely grows angry

    Teamplayer

Sees the good in people, often to a fault

    Trusting

    Spiritual/Theological Inclinations

Benedictus belongs to the older ‘Purist’ faction of the Church. What this means is he believes in the Lord of the Springs as the one and only god and creator.  To Dav, he sees him as a sort of ‘first among saints’ but by no means a deified man or even a Christ figure.  He does not advocate this position strongly, more suggesting it, as it can prove unpopular with parts of the political establishment.  Keep an eye out for this expressed in more subtle ways!

    Alignment:

    Lawful Good

    Rumors:

-Some suspect that Bene used less than savory means to obtain power, perhaps even magery.  He has not commented on this, remaining content to allow such rumors to die out on their own.

-Bene was found to have had an illicit affair with Julea Sanguine. He was branded for the crime after he left the Church to resolve the issue.. she herself was dequartered for treason, a death which has left him in utter grief.

-Whispers note a less than friendly relationship with His Majesty.
