The county of Lothos shares it borders with four other counties along
with the land Lithmore city lays on. This unique sharing of borders has
causes Lothos to see its fair share of political matters. Early in its
creation Lothos was little less than a group of villages without any
defined borders. It would be many years before the villages grew and
sought to form what is now Lothos. There were many political bargains
struck and many favors given out to the surrounding counties. Lothos was
for many years in its infancy in debt to Casterlay and Amhurst who loaned
Lothos the money and resources needed to properly support the new County.
The sight where the first agreement was settled upon eventually became the
capitol city, Vitussa, named after the first noble family who ruled over
Lothos. Lothos barely managed to support itself during its first 100 years
as an official county. It would be another fifty years till disaster
struck Lothos, specifically its capitol. A large flood caused by a dam
that had been constructed and subsequently shattered due to faulty
craftsmanship caused a large wave of water to shatter many of the buildings
throughout Lothos, including the home of the noble family. While none of
the Vitussa family survived the flood a noble family, the Vortinas whom
were a twice removed relation from the main bloodline, were left the
responsibility of repairing the county. While this was a heavy task to
take on the Vortina family made sure to restore Lothos to its previous
glory. Ever since then the Vortina family have been the ruling nobles and
have lead Lothos into a time of economic prosperity.
Climate
Lothos is similar in climate to Lithmore with warm summers and cold winters though its winters are a bit more colder than Lithmore's. The land of Lothos is one filled with many rivers running through its lands most of which feed directly into the Dralth Ocean. With the abundant amount of rivers that run through Lothos this offers a rich land full of forests and grasslands.
The People of Lothos
Despite Lothos's unique past, the people have remained hardy. They are a strong and community based people, willing to help each other even if it is a hinderance to themselves. Family is considered important to these people and something they hold dearly. This drive and values in the people have led Lothos to the state it is today, a prosperous and thriving county.
