Located to the west of the ducal Demesne and Vavard City, the Barony of
Dusollini is comprised of an almost even mix of seasonal residences and
farmland. Since the land itself lies on a peninsula jutting into the
Kirulean sea, tipped by the Castellan of Nimrock, it is rich with heavy
deposits of minerals from the sea spray. Rather than causing the land to be
barren it has enriched the soil over time and the farmers of the Barony have
adapted to growing crops which thrive in it.
The land making up the Barony has not always been free of conflict. Following King Dav's declarations and the associated uproar by merchant families many of the them began spending more time at their seasonal homes on the land.
The first Baron to hold the lands, Baron Artemis dul Dusol, was raised to the position at the fall of the Merchant Kingdom of Vavard. A merchant being raised to nobility was seen as a strategic maneuver by the nobility to assist in bringing the merchants to Davism and into compliance with the declarations. For the most part it worked but one stubborn merchant who resisted conversion slay him while traversing the countryside en route to the Ducal Seat.
Following Baron dul Dusol's death House Pardieu took over rule of the Barony. Although it took years for relations to improve between the nobility, farmers and merchant families Baron Frederick dul Pardieu ruled for almost forty years before dying of natural causes. His son, Kaesa dul Pardieu, stepped up to fulfill the duties of his father and after overseeing restructuring of taxes within the Barony was viewed as both fair and cunning. The new tax structure, taking into account the needs of the barony as well as the income from import / export activity, was seen as a first in the Kingdom. The Pardieu tax structure was implemented in other lands throughout Vavard and has helped to bolster the coffers of the nobility while appearing fair to the people.
Four generations later, Morgan dul Pardieu, the fifth of House Pardieu to be seated as Baron of Dusollini was killed by a mage during a robbery at the family residence. At two months short of the age of majority his son Alric dul Pardieu requested to lead a small contigent of Knights and members of The Order to seek out the mage responsible and avenge his father's death. Realizing the gravity of the request, and the danger to Alric if he attempted to avenge his fathers death alone, his request was approved and in less than four days the scourge responsible for his fathers death was committed to the pyre.
After Alric gave up his claim in 356 to become Grand Inquisitor, his younger brother Darryn dul Pardieu took over as Baron. Darryn had followed in his fathers footsteps as a merchant prince and had ownership and stakes in a variety of businesses.
