The Barony of Hamstone has rather a colourful history in contrast to its relatively barren present. Rumours of all manner of sins have plagued the ab Maier family from a time before Dav ab Harmon, ranging from the innocuously titillating to the actually horrible. Fetes and scandal to rival Vavard were the norm right until, in the year 348, Baroness Cymbria donated the family's fortune to the Order, abdicated and exiled herself to take the holy oaths.
The destitute holdings are now headed by her youngest brother Cyril, who tries as he might to extract enough ore from the family mines to ensure the very basics of land maintenance and defense. The days of ostentatious finery and endless revels are long gone.
