Iglisrich (named after the seat of its Lord at Iglisrich Hall) is one of six baronies adjoined to the western shores of the Kirulean Sea. Sharing significant borders with Seahome, Elcaster, Irisum and Lundsend, Iglisrich covers a globular area staked out over centuries of historical warfare, most remarkable for its borders being hemmed entirely by a massive wall of stone that was composed over the decades from 203 to 297; by the time of its completion rulers had continued funding construction solely because it had become habitual - an expected duty to take on when an heir claimed their seat. Some portions of the wall are thus nearly a hundred sun cycles older than others. Iglisrich is known as the "White Barony" because of the color of the stone which encloses it.

Whereas once much of Iglisrich's economy was based upon the wall's construction, after 297 jobs were produced in equal numbers by maintenance. The unusually hard white quartz stone prevalent on Iglisrich's seaside cliffs remains in high demand, as do quarrymen capable of mining and shaping the rock into blocks.

An "Iglistone" is a currency developed among the quarrymen of the cliff side mines to allow the exchange of luxury goods and small favors without the need to travel great distances with heavy bags of coin. Composed of a round, smooth portion of quartz with a vein of color running through the center, it is said that while no two Iglistones are the same, nor can they be reproduced. Over the centuries the stones have crept into the Barony's major threads of economy; there are few inns or shops that will not accept them in exchange for goods. Unsurprisingly, despite the welcome flow of Merchants in and out of the Barony, the Iglistone has not managed to permeate beyond the wall.

From its highest point at the Sleeve of Guillion on the coastal east, Iglisrich's land falls away to rolling country in the middle and west, with flatlands north; grassy plains populated by the poignantly yellow Padian Posies reach sea level at Warragh Neagh in the far north.

Pre-Consolidation Iglisrich was the territory of fire mage Padian ab Ulaid, and much of the historical records of that time were burned when House Grenefeld, ardent supporters of King Dav's crusade, ousted and put to pyre the entire Ulaid family save one. The eldest daughter, Ania, was wedded to Derin ab Grenefeld and became the first Baroness ab Grenefeld of Iglisrich. Time has passed with little of note in the White Barony; the title passes from generation to generation to the eldest Grenefeld, and continues to do so to present times.

Though once a man of remarkable charisma, fluent with both the harp and viol and hands-on with the peoples of his lands, the current Lord of Iglisrich Brennan ab Grenefeld's advance into his winter years has not been kind. He is said to be afflicted with gout, often deep in his cups and rarely seen, his wife having passed in labor of childbirth which produced his only legitimate heir, Marion ab Grenefeld.
