Natasza states, "I don't actually know what Yule entails."
Karrin claims, "We'll check RP this week, then do staff updates, then go into player topics."
Karrin claims, "So, how has RP been this week."
Soulless claims, "Exhausting."
Highroller clears his throat.
Motherof states, "Um. Ummm. Um."
Highroller states, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Then some personal scenes, that was fun. "
Karrin states to Highroller, "Very descriptive."
Libiwe states, "Fun. the AAA...h part having not reached me."
Highroller states, "It was a ride, that's what it was. "
Soulless states, "People can be relentless. Might need to step back from the game for a bit at this rate."
Calivion trails off, "If work had behaved..."
Sororitas says, "I had a pretty down beat week. Some good things but nothing crazy."
Rosethorn states, "RP's been good over all for me! Mostly just working on being around more in general. "
WeedEater says, "RL kicked my butt so I didn't get much in, but what I did get I enjoyed."
Karrin claims to Soulless, "Sometimes stepping back can be healthy depending on what's going on."
Motherof claims, "I had to step back for a week or two myself, but I am back now. For better or for worse.
Musketeer states, "I rather much enjoyed the week. Lot of quiet, but a lot of busy scenes too. Lot of very.. Interesting. Reveals too."
WeedEater claims, "The game can be relentless when you're on the shite end of the stick for sure. I've had to step back myself for that reason."
Meiari shares wine with Calivion.
Musketeer says, "Oh. And a couple of recommends put out over the week, as memory serves."
Highroller claims, "Sometimes it can help to play a low key side PC to decompress, I hope that you'll be back, though
Harrow says, "Good job Musketeer. Always like to see recommends going out."
Motherof claims, "I'm slowly catching up on my to-do list of recommends as well."
Caelum was always there, a stick overlooked on the ground until now. Maybe? [OOC]
Calivion should Recommend Meiari for her ceaseless dedication to making sure I am half tipsy
WeedEater says, "I should bang those out while working."
Motherof states, "But yes. RP has been eventful and plot-moving. XD"
Karrin claims, "Magdalena is not feeling well, so she wasn't able to come on this weekend for recommends. But I know she caught some earlier this week."
Karrin queries, "Ok, any player topics?"
Meiari grins.
InvestSouthside just assumes Cal is always half tipsy if they are in public.
Karrin pats Caelum on the head. "Welcome."
Motherof claims, "I have a little topic."
Karrin nods at Motherof.
Musketeer states, "Being half-tipsy keeps the wheels moving. Don't know what direction. There's six pedals and I can't tell which one's the right one. But Lord we're going somewhere."
Caelum pets a brown, wooden frog toy in a lengthy, striped winter scarf ingratiatingly.
Karrin says, "Alright, so. If any other topics come up, send me a tell. We'll start with staff updates."
Karrin says, "I know Dorothy's not here, but I've seen her at work this week with building things when she's had moments."
Karrin says, "I'll let Harrow go first, otherwise."
Harrow says, "Ok! So. This week I handled a handful of build and phome/pshop purchase requests, fixed or tried to fix some minor problems that came up, puppeted the occasional NPC for fun, and fixed some incorrect imm helpfiles and imm resources on the staff side relating to diseases. That last thing was actually quite tedious, but also sort of meditative at the same time, so no complaints here really. I intend to run the live scene for a particular plot that some of you will be aware of soon, RL has just been beating my ass and I haven't had the time to focus that completely on the game for any length of time. Everything else I've mentioned I can do while working or attending to RL stuff partially, but not a live scene, that requires my full attention for like two hours minimum. "
Bigman states, "I welcome the undead invasion."
Musketeer says, "RL > Game. Hopefully life is not doing a lot more teeth kicking though."
Karrin nods.
Karrin muses to Temi, "Your update?"
Harrow says, "I should be a lot more free to do long live scenes after the 4th."
Temi finishes abruptly, "Nothing too big - getting caught up on plots and doing some requests and milestones"
Temi says, "Make sure to check your plots and updates us on them if they are in needs input, or let us know they can be closed out"
Karrin states, "Lochan did not arrive with us, but Lochan has been brainstorming with us, and digging through causes for our last crash, and otherwise being a great spaghetti monster to work with."
Highroller asks, "If I've submitted the plot, do you need an extra note that it's ready, or is that what thye are? "
Karrin says to Highroller, "You can always back it up to draft if you don't want us to look at it yet."
Temi states, "If it's in Queued state, we know it's there"
Harrow says, "Just make sure it's 'queued' and not a 'draft' Highroller"
Highroller nods.
Harrow says, "If you want it to be looked at, if you DONT want it to be looked at, draft"
Temi claims, "For yours, I need to get server access again"
Karrin says to Temi, "We'll nudge that again today. I just need the pair of you to chatter. XD"
Temi states, "So it's not forgotten, just need the logs on the server"
Karrin claims to Caelum, "Your turn."
Ikeala wonders, "Is that a typical thing plots require?"
Karrin says to Ikeala, "No, just certain ones."
Highroller says, "No hurry, just never done many plots, and I've not submitted it long ago
Temi states, "Certain types of plots do, especially checking on bank stuff"
Highroller nods.
Caelum states, "Life has been kicking my butt so I haven't been on as much as I'd like to, sorry. Work's also been picking up but I'll be on whenever I can."
Caelum states, "And one more thing about puppeting NPCs: I'll be happy to play with your NPC if you want, but you can also help me get into their skin better by letting me know about their quirks or something they should know but I don't. Conversely if you *don't* want me to play with your NPC let me know and I'll respect it. Since they're your thing too"
Sororitas muses, "Should we cnote that or board you? Their personalities and what not?"
Motherof states, "Sounds like NPCs could use secret background helpfiles."
InvestSouthside states, "So cnotes about our pet/npc's quirks got it"
Karrin claims, "Cnotes would work."
Karrin states, "Half the time when Caelum logs in, too, he's actively peeking in rooms looking for people who have NPCs there to puppet. You could probably reach out and give puppydog eyes and invite him via tell."
Highroller claims, "I welcome all puppeting. Really appriciated a specific puppet that happened when I wasn't in a position to move around much <3 "
Karrin queries to Caelum, "If that's ok with you. I can show you how to check cnotes. And if you don't mind them in your tells for invites?"
Harrow says, "I would love to see that too. Your pets and human retainers quirks and personalities and backgrounds in cnotes, or just a cnote saying DO NOT PUPPET MY RETAINER. I'd have fun puppeting your pals as well. Caelum and I are both story staff, so that's part of the gig."
Sororitas says, "I'll draft that up then because all my NPCs have some personality but I would love them puppeted... besides maybe one unless you're in a real shit stirring mood."
Karrin nods.
Karrin says, "Puppeting NPCs is one of the reasons both Harrow and Caelum were brought on. I wanted a way to make the grid come more alive for you all."
Harrow claims, "I can do that a lot more happily, it would help a great deal to have cnotes with guidance."
Karrin wonders, "We can make a board note about it. Maybe have the words 'retainer npcs' in the cnote so it's easy for them to find. And you can update the cnotes each time you update NPCs?"
Highroller says, "Now I almost want to get a retainer for the specific reason to have them stir shit up 8D"
Libiwe claims, "I once witnessed an NPC being puppetted in a scene I was, but the scene itself, with several characters, required so much my attention it was hard for me to include yet another one. I'm sorry for that."
Caelum states, "Would be glad for cnotes as well. There's only so much I can infer from looking at their description unfortunately. But I want you to have fun and enjoy our time and this is one way you can help with it"
Bigman says, "I'll make a cnote about the shopkeeper. It's a real simple one
Caelum says to Libiwe, "No need to say sorry, we just like to liven up the background and don't expect to take center stage. It's still about you the players, we just help the world come to life"
Ikeala states, "If shopkeepers start to get animated we have to better make sure they aren't naked, lol."
Meiari says, "It definitely helps fight the potential of small worlding, which is nice"
Karrin states, "I don't know, being naked might be funny."
Capitalism states, "Wait... Lysander will be speaking!? That man's been whipped before."
Highroller exclaims, "Lysander has been speaking! "
Motherof says, "Lysander is a delight."
Musketeer says, "Yep."
Calivion states, "Lysander vs Alf. Cage Match. "
Karrin claims, "Ok, so. We'll make sure that board note is put up later. Realize taht there will be no offense if someone goes 'pls not this NPC' or asks for no puppets."
Karrin states, "As for me, I've processed plots this week - as of the last time and this time, I've taken to giving narrative answers. These seem to be going over well, but do take me some time."
Libiwe claims, "I suppose public notes on famous' NPC's character would make sense for players too, who sometime interract with them. Help Lysander would be a must for me."
Karrin claims, "We won't be making helpfiles for all of the NPCs on grid."
Karrin states, "The important ones already have a helpfile. Temi, help me out with the name."
Karrin states, "Oh, feature NPCs."
Temi asks, "Feature npcs? yeah"
Libiwe says, "Sure thing."
Caelum has learned a new thing today.
Motherof claims, "I won't tell Lysander he's not important.
Harrow states, "All of those are exceedingly unlikely to be puppeted by me or Caelum though. The feature NPCs."
Meiari claims, "I will. Man needs to fix his coffee."
Harrow claims, "Temi owns them."
Karrin claims, "Anyway, so plots. I've been ruminating on what to do with the Reeves. We'll be adding in a few litle perks there - some things we've been tossing around is free trainers, etc. Maybe some other things. Still work in process, and a lot of ideas being passed back and forth."
Karrin states, "Right."
Karrin says, "There were a few policy things this week that took time/energy, but are done and handled."
Karrin claims, "I... think that's all the staff."
Karrin claims to Motherof, "Which puts us at your topic."
Natasza wonders, "Policy things?"
Highroller states, "I don't think the current problems with the Reeves are neccisarily due to lack of support staff side as so much just the result of IC drama. "
Soulless says, "Yeah."
Temi claims to Natasza, "People asking if things were within policy, etc."
Karrin claims to Highroller, "Agreed. But, arguably, the Reeves have been empty for years before now."
Highroller says, "I have a short question after motherof, btw"
Karrin says, "So while this most recent one is an IC circumstances situation, the last several years cannot say the same. And we've had the Reeves under consideration for changing for a while. It's why no one is allowed to app in to them at the moment (see the open applciations post)."
Temi says, "Right now the Reeves are highly reliant on a good interesting GL, which can collapse quickly when stuff comes up"
Motherof states, "Yeahhh. Rexel told me he's been lying low for a bit, being overwhelmed. But he'll be back this week to figure out his shenanigans. (Rexel is me)
And sorry, I realized my topic is basically a visnet question, so it can wait."
Karrin claims to Motherof, "Go ahead and state it."
Motherof queries, "What happens if you miss your 500hour milestone? Is it forfeit? Or is it tracked that you missed it?"
Temi states, "The typo board notes last a good long while now"
Meiari states, "Oh, applicable question for me too lol"
Temi says, "So you shouldn't lose it until Karrin starts nagging and you don't respond at all"
Motherof claims, "Oh, I'm pretty sure that part happened years ago, haha"
Temi claims, "If it does disappear, let us know and we can check, but the typo notes are the main tracking"
Temi states, "Years ago might be too late"
Temi grins.
Motherof says, "Okay.
Karrin states, "If it was before I came in, yeah. I have no oversight over what was fulfilled then or not."
Karrin says, "But if your character has done something big NOW that would deserve, say, a lore entry. And you have over 500 hours and it is big and well known enough, don't not put it in. Worst we can tell you is that you need to adapt it."
Motherof nods.
Meiari thumbs up.
Highroller muses, "Can one submit lore entires even without the milestone if BIG stuff happens? "
Karrin claims to Highroller, "If BIG stuff happens, yes."
Soulless says, "Yeah, help lore."
Karrin says, "I'm not likely to put something in that's teensy or insignificant (i.e. say, someone got the plague right there when the entire city was getting the plague because there was a header plot about getting the plague)"
Karrin states, "But if it's big and memorable enough to go down in history, yeah."
Temi says, "You can also submit stuff that isn't related to your characters if it's meaningful"
Soulless says, "So, no submitting for insect related injuries.
Karrin claims to Soulless, "Pretty much. If it's something that's literally happening to everyone, then it happening to someone is not significant."
Temi states, "But for the big conclusion of the bug stuff, if such happens, could totally make sense"
Karrin states, "EXACTLY."
Karrin asks of Highroller, "You had something?"
Highroller questions, "Oh yeah, if we want to contact someone's retainer, do we write to the 'owner' or the retainer? "
Temi states, "Unless they've established a mail alias for it, generally"
Highroller muses, "The owner, then? "
Harrow asks, "Probably best to ask the owner, have you set up an alias for your NPC retainer I want to mail or will I have to mail you specifically?"
Karrin says, "Yeah, that's not something most people mind in their tells."
Highroller nods.
Temi states, "Usually if they have and there's an email from the retainer, they'll have aliases mentioned in the mail"
Temi states, "But more unprompted stuff you can ask them"
Highroller exclaims, "Okay cool! "
Karrin questions, "Alrighty, anything else before I send you back?"
Motherof waves.
Soulless pontificates, "Nothing here!"
Highroller claims, "O7"
Mirielle declaims, "All good!"
Sororitas begins petting a brown, wooden frog toy in a lengthy, striped winter scarf while waiting for teleports to grid.
Karrin claims, "Ok, you all have a wonderful time. And get cnotes in about your retainers - give me a moment to get the guidelines on the announce board, though."
