===Geography===

The outlying island of St. Helriem's Isle, referred to by the locals as
St. Helriem's Noose, is located directly south of Lightwater bay, some
distance from the main island of the chain that makes up the duchy. It is
considered the most remote of the islands though throughout history has
been considered a valuable strategic asset.

Prior to the period of Vandagan Colonization, St. Helriem's Isle was
referred to as The Crag or Whitecloud because of the tall white granite
mountain that dominates the central portion of the island. Most of the
locals do not discuss directions in terms of compass directions but as
windward, leeward, upslope and downslope.

The central mountain is officially named Wellspring Mountain, a name
derived from the hundreds of natural springs and waterfalls that dominate
the lower portions of the southern face mountain. These springs eventually
feed the main river, The White River that flows down slope from the
mountain to the southern coast.

The northern part of the island is home to the major city, Pronskport.
Situated on Violate Bay, Pronskport serves as the seat of government and
religion on the island and hosts to the Chief Magistrate, Bishop, and
Baron. The city serves as the main economical hub and is famous for its
ship building and for being home to some of the fastest Ocean going ships
in the Royal Fleet.

Because of the Age of Colonization, many in Pronskport are ethnically
Vandagan in some part. Most of the families have intermarried in the time
between the Consolidation and the present, however a few of the high
ranking gentry families consider themselves to be "Pure Bloods" and look
down on those of mixed heritage.

This rich Vandagan heritage can be seen in the architecture of the city,
showing more stone than the typical Tubori city. The city also boasts one
of the most developed dry docks and ship yards in the duchy.

The rest of the northern part of the island is covered in sugarcane and
pineapple plantations. Most of the sugarcane is refined into coamjar and
molasses before being sent to Tubor city for sale, but some is retained
locally for a small rum distilling industry.

The southern part of the island is by far more lush and verdant then the
northern half. The largest city, Fennswood, is located at the White River
delta in an area that is mostly mudflats and wetlands. The southern part
of the island is dominated by mostly those of pure Tubori heritage and is
generally poorer than the regions north of the mountain.

Industry in the south of the island is mostly ocean harvesting, collecting
fresh seafood and pearls. There is a small industry of harvesting lumber
from the forest and sending it north to support the ship building
operations there.

There is no direct path through the jungles connecting the two cities.
