Jambellya is an elevated barony, formed in the high country south and
east of the Ducal demesne of Farin. The northern part of the barony, which
descends towards the lowland plain of the Farin central region, is mostly
devoted to agricultural concerns. There is a division between crops for
food, of which they grow enough to supply their own people and some for the
capital and cash crops, cotton in particular. Central to this area is Lake
Oringar, which is fed from two rivers that stretch out of the mountains,
both of which are heavily diverted for irrigation. The shores of the Lake
also boasts the baronial seat of Jambell. The southern area of the barony
rises quickly into hills, the feet of which are also used for step farms,
the rocky ground less arable. As it continues to rise, it is generally
given over to pastural concerns where goats and sheep are raised. Lastly,
as it gets into the mountains, mines can be found with tin and copper with
a central township of Tasaraya.. Finally, at the very southern tip of the
barony rises Fort Zugada, which is built on a high, rocky outcropping.

Jambell is a busy, walled city, and the majority of produce that the barony
creates enters through her gates. The city boasts a market and a modest
cathedral dedicated to Saint Farridan their region's local saint, who was
an early introducer of the church to the area, and was slain for it. The
city is also home to the baron's fortified palace, which occupies the
highest point of the city and overlooks the lake. Fish and other aquatic
life are drawn from the lake, although strict limits are put on just how
much can be drawn at any given time. The fish actually makes up for
another useful export for the barony, although mostly preserved due to the
heat.

Tasaraya does not boast the walls that Jambell does, nor the good planning.
No, it acts mostly as a staging ground for the local mines and quarries, as
well as having some industry to support said produce. However, it is made
somewhat prosperous by the mineral wealth of the area, and given the
nearness of the quarries and avaibility of masons, many homes are made from
stone.

Fort Zugada has a very defensible point, with only one approach over which
it has a good view. It was the last place to fall, having held out through
the Consolidation years, and it was only after when the inhabitants were
finally starved out. The fort also doubles as a second home for the
baronial family during the very height of summer. Since that day, the
barony has slipped into and out of the ducal demesne, and is held by an
offshoot of the Ducal family, currently in the hands of the Duke's second
cousin, Dareios de Montford.
