    Description:

At first glance, this woman appears to be tall and willowy (a second shows she wears rather high heels). Her raven-black hair carries the light-dampened properties of a costly Vandagan dye, duly interbraided with shiny black horse hair into thick coils and pinned to the nape of her  neck.

Her canted brown eyes are dark enough to appear black in candlelight, but otherwise shroud a seemingly wicked mirth that hovers beneath the surface,  echoed in her chiseled, angular features. She wears powder and hints of  exquisitely expensive cosmetics. About her, the bittersweet scent of  cloves, myrrh, and cinnamon lingers.

    Chloe is using:
a valiant lantern of intricate filigree and glass (on)
a snood of fine silver chains adorned with tiny seed pearls
an enormous mogul-cut amethyst pendant on a silver chain
a vivid blue slash of silk with a holy prayer sewn in gold
sheer maiden-white silk sleeves tightly cuffed at the wrist
a heavy bracelet of medallions stamped with a family crest
a Vandagan stiletto with a trilliant amethyst in the hilt (a gilded sheath)
a double-breasted greatcoat with triangular, flaring tails
    a snowy off-the-shoulder chemise under a dove-grey bolero
a wide leather waist-cincher bound with thick silver chains

    PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE

Chloe was created to be a character to play with Romana von Mestan as her sister. She wasn’t intended to be smart, just devious. She liked drugs and parties and sex, none of which were illegal, but all of which were frowned upon by Lithmorran society. Chloe was a widow twice over and felt she’d done everything society asked of her, so was going to live her own way… but she was also a loyal supporter of the church (to avoid conflict with Romana). She was not intended to become a countess – that was an opportunity that she capitalized on when it came up in RP, playing two Monarch Quest candidates off one another. Chloe was, however, also craven and petty. She helped others to help herself and her family.

In order of priority, Chloe was loyal to Romana first, herself second, her family at large third (this is just a standard Vandagan profile), The Holy Order forth, her retainers and own people fifth, the King of Lithmore sixth (this was a personal choice based on actual IC play), and no one else. She struggled with fear and feelings of inadequacy when facing older nobility. At times, Chloe wished that she hadn’t been raised because she didn’t feel she fit in, so she tried very hard to surround herself with people she hoped would like her if she just took care of them well enough. In the end, one of her retainers betrayed her, and she got her just desserts, forced to flee Lithmore to avoid very real plots on her life.

    A BRIEF HISTORY

Chloe von Dmitreva is the matriarch of the once-gentry, now-noble house Dmitreva, raised to the title Countess of Garod county by her efforts on Tobin ab Samael’s behalf during the period after Queen Gemara ab Harmon’s death.

There are differing accounts of what she actually did, but subsequently many have become aware that Chloe settled a dispute between the Holy Order and the then-Lord Justiciar, then became an early and secret supporter of his Majesty.  She later, after publically announcing herself, assisted in the coordination of the efforts that several of Tobin’s supporters made, and was one of the contributing forces to bringing the Persela-Orban coalition to Tobin’s side.  Finally, she was offered a county by one of Tobin’s opponents, Anschel ab Longuire, which Tobin counter-offered due to her degree of service.

Chloe herself is known as a widow twice over, both of her husbands being Vavardi Merchant Princes.  She has a young son who was sent home to remain in the custody of the Malkova family, a known enemy.  In return, Chloe has a handmaiden named Jenifyr Malkova.

In Vandago, House Dmitreva was known mostly for its absolute control of the Heritage Building Society of Engineers, made its name with vast contracts to the Vandagan State for cathedrals, government buildings, and other magnificent works.

Most builders in Vandago have a relationship with the Society.  The Society ‘certifies’ builders and engineers with Vandagan standards of work, and those without the certification are considered inferior.  Certified members not only pay for the privilage of taking exacting tests, they must continually pay the guild dues for the honor of remaining certified, and take exclusive apprenticeships and training offered by the guild on a yearly basis to maintain their certifications.

    BEFORE PLAY BACKGROUND

Chloe von Dmitreva killed her second husband, a Vavardi Merchant Prince, after he killed her first one to be with her. Upon his confession in their wedding bed, she went to her father and told him what happened. It turned out her own father was complicit in the matter, and she and he fell to outs. Her father disowned her, which crushed her. In doing so, he took Chloe’s son from her first, truly beloved, husband and gave him to family enemies to hold hostage. The only consolation she had was a young girl from the Maldova family in return. Thus, rather than return to Vandago, Chloe set for Lithmore, having heard that Romana had taken up residence there and hoping for assistance from her sister in getting her son back and dealing with their father.

ICly, Romana used her authority with the Holy Order to force their father to reverse his disinheritance of Chloe.
