Calivion says, "I can do it if no one else wants to"
A Comfortable Room
[Perfect]
A plethora of gaily coloured silk pillows with fringes and tassels
completely conceal the floor. A large pillow in the corner stands out, a
brooding black mass of velvet and fringeless. Screens of nature scenes
painted with the spare strokes of a brush that hint at and outline the
subjects, leaving much to the imagination. Behind the screens, silk
curtains and sheets painted with bright patterns hide the walls, pulled
back only around the windows that pierce the southern and western walls to
look out over a lush garden filled with an untamed riot of plants and
trees.

Karrin says to Calivion, "Thank you."
Temi gives a tree-shaped pastry, dusted with a layer of powdered sugar to Sororitas.
Karrin states, "OOC Chat Rules:
- Approach each topic with the mindset that each person is doing the best they can with the
knowledge they have, staff and player alike.
- Please avoid topics around current events. Nothing should be revealed in an OOC meeting that
others would prefer to find out in game ICly.
- This is not the correct forum for criticism of a specific player or a topic centered around one
player. If there are concerns about a specific player, please address that with staff privately.
- This is not the correct forum for bringing up policy violations. If there are instances of
perceived policy violations, please address that with staff privately."
Karrin queries, "So! How has RP been this week, folks?"
Pippa pontificates, "Pretty good! Some excitement getting ready for things this afternoon"
Bigman states, "I had a rather baller scene with someone yesterday, which caused me to have to re-think some things, that was awesome
And some fun planning afterward as I digested that talk"
Sororitas lifts a tree-shaped pastry, dusted with a layer of powdered sugar to her nose and sniffs
at it.
Meiari declares, "I've been broken irl so my RP has been pretty null and void. Sorry... but the few
scenes I had were nice! Got lots of stuff prepped for this afternoon"
Bigman says, "Feel better soon, you D: "
Meiari states, "Tyty, headache is finally gone if that counts for anything lol"
Motherof claims, "Some funny things stirring. Have no shortage of RP hooks lately, so thank you, MUD."
Karrin has transferred Hibiscus. [OOC]
Temi gives a tree-shaped pastry, dusted with a layer of powdered sugar to Hibiscus.
Temi claims, "I think that definitely counts for something"
Karrin queries, "I'm glad to hear! Does anyone have any topics for this week?"
Pippa declaims, "Event reminder at the end!"
Bigman states, "I had a musing, wondering for some perspective on that."
Emee wonders, "Where is the event going to be held? "
Pippa says, "Crystal Ballroom at the Trade Hall"
Karrin states, "Oh, events."
Karrin states to Bigman, "Got you on the list."
Emee says, "Thanks"
Karrin states to Temi, "You first this week! Won't be long, I imagine."
Temi states, "Yep, not long! I was out most of the week, but back now - a little bit of a cold, but I should be mostly around again at this point. Tracking down stuff for a plot and all that"
Karrin says, "Sneaky plots."
Karrin states, "I have also been busy this week a lot, I've wandered in and handled a few things here or there, but haven't sat down to do any hard focus time."
Karrin has transferred Capitalism. [OOC]
Karrin says to Harrow, "Your turn."
Temi gives a tree-shaped pastry, dusted with a layer of powdered sugar to Capitalism.
Capitalism arrives fashionably late.
Harrow says, "So I've been mostly occupied by IRL stuff, as I have been for the past few weeks and OOC meetings. Things might not let up for a bit, but I do still have some stuff planned that I hope to get into soon."
Karrin claims, "Harrow has asked to do our next header."
Harrow states, "Yis"
Temi states, "And we're all excited"
Bigman says, "Header plots, omnom"
Harrow says, "Hopefully it should be fun"
Karrin says, "I know Caelum has also been very, very busy with IRL. Weekends are pretty much no go at all anymore, unfortunately, but he is still around, as well. And Lochan, too. Dorothy has been in and out this week. Seems like mostly things smash all my staff at once, but we're all here."
Capitalism queries, "Is this the plot where the Order are the villians?"
Bigman states, "The reccomend fairy came by yesterday
"
Karrin claims, "Magdalena, haha. Yeah, she's got a lot going on, too. But loves doing the recommends, sol."
Emee says, "The order is the good guys and never wrong"
Bigman trails off, "I mean... depending on who you ask.... I think there are PCs for whom.... "
Temi says, "The Order always gets to pick their own path, but we're never going to complain about a little sadism"
Bigman zips it before he gets pyred
woodsman states, "Ask the last king what he thinks."
Karrin states, "Watch it, Trogdor probably reads logs! (Kidding, he probably doesn't.)"
Harrow says, "This is, Capitalism, of course the plot where the Order accepts mages and heretics and everyone lives happily ever after."
Harrow states, "The end."
Temi says, "He probably burns logs, though"
Capitalism states, "Ah. we're hoing back in time "
Capitalism states, "Going too"
Karrin says, "True."
Capitalism claims, "Gotta love phone keyboards "
Karrin muses to Bigman, "You had a topic?"
woodsman says, "Yes."
Bigman claims, "So a musing I have had for a while. With base assets being as they are, and the bare necessities as they are for most PCs, it feels really hard to stay poor, without intentionally causing that. I really enjoy that because it means I can just play a PC, instead of having to 'grind' coins, but I wonder if there are I guess tips to stay poor? Mostly for future concepts, but even 100 silver from a base asset is a lot, for most basic PCs. Beyond just... deleting the level 1 asset and intentionally impoverishing your PC so to say. "
Bigman states, "Oh well, the thing posted in one go."
Karrin claims, "Crafters actually go through coins like mad."
Temi says, "Though can earn a lot too, if they might things people like."
Karrin claims, "As you get higher up in each craft, it costs more. And, a lot of it is grind, so it's sort of useless."
Karrin nods in agreement with Temi.
Capitalism says, "That we do... and we do."
Temi claims, "But yeah, you have to make a point to stay poor without just buying a lot of stuff, which doesn't really feel poor"
Capitalism shines his Capitalism title. It's there for good reason.
Bigman queries, "We do, just it's a different story playing a poor sod who is down on his luck and a poor sod who blew it all trying to make fancy stuff
I don't neccisarily think it's bad, because the basic income allows one to focus on roleplay, but hardship is then mostly... self inflicted? "
Capitalism says, "I would suggest RP having a smaller bank account that you do. so Mechanically you are not struggling but RPly you could be."
Temi wonders, "You could sort out a debt maybe to pay more than you get in with interest?"
Temi states, "But yeah, we don't really build too much hardship in on the financials"
Meiari finishes abruptly, "You could always tithe, and don't forget to tip your bards - if you want the coin physically gone from yourself with little to show for it"
Capitalism has left the game.
Meiari says, "Suggest tithing, Capitalism leaves. Checks out"
Emee states, "Buying IP "
Ikeala claims, "I will say, a lot of things are self-inflicted. Like a lot of I don't want to be having the best time possible is a choice you make on purpose."
Karrin says, "You CAN stay poor. Just have to get creative ways to do it. Tithe all of it."
Bigman states, "Hmm. I suppose immediately tithing your starter silver and then removing the asset would work. And I'm glad about the lack of coded hardship in terms of monies. "
Emee pontificates, "Or commit a low tier crime and the Reeves will happily take your money!"
Temi grins.
Motherof says, "Do naughty things and get blackmailed."
Emee has lost link.
Emee has reconnected.
Temi declares, "So, many choices!"
Ikeala states, "Also backstory stuff could always account for some stuff. Having to support family etc."
Bigman says, "Mnh, I'll give it some thinkings! Is there a way to delet coin without like getting benefit? To simulate said backstory stuff."
Meiari muses, "Leave it in an alms house box?"
Temi trails off, "You could put it in something and junk it, though that could show up somewhere... Staff could probably help if needed"
Sororitas asks, "You could always just make sure whenever you go out you buy food for the day of 10-12 silver worth a day which is like two or three drinks/food items. Really easy to spend all your money on food if you don't really plan to save on a character and food isn't exactly a weird luxury. Though I guess the MV is a benefit?"
Bigman nods.
Motherof wonders, "Become an alcoholic and spend it all on booze?"
Meiari claims, "Pick up a drug habit"
Motherof states, "That too."
Bigman states, "Thanks, I'll digest that and utilize it when/if I roll a new PC
And alcoholism/drug use was indeed my next option
"
Hibiscus is idle.
Temi nods in agreement.
Karrin says, "Drug or drinking habit would do it quick, actually."
Temi pontificates, "Great options all around!"
Karrin states, "Ok! If we don't have anything else, I can boot you all back to the grid."
Karrin claims, "Stay poor! Is the new hope."
Sororitas begins to count their money.
Meiari dances.
Bigman begins to count their money.
Pippa declares, "Reminder that we've got the New Year's Ball after this! Crystal Chamber!"
Bigman declares, "Remember: Merriment is mandatory! "
Karrin states, "You all are weird. Ok, back to grid you go. Have a great week. And have fun at the New Year's Ball."
Karrin shoos everyone.
