Temi states, "We had a few little bugs with getting them set out again that I think have all been set to rights again, so if you had any issues, hopefully those are good again, but do let us know if you have any issues"

Temi says, "We're planning to leave them up through New Year's since we know people have lots of RL commitments that can make timing spotty, and it gives people something to do when their timing is less predictable for finding others"

Karrin says, "As for me, I've been utterly beat for no reason that I can figure out, so I've been handling at the moment things, but have been mostly logging out for the evenings. So, behind. But, that's totally normal for me."

Bern claims, "So most of the high level crafts use 'a block of exceptionally fine-grained wood', which isn't the 'a large rectangular block of fine wood', you can make from Woodworking. Lox told me that the exceptional fine-grained wood you get through imports or buying at the lumberyard. I was wondering if there was any gathering source for that or if it was meant to increase the cost of the upper levels of Woodworking by making a supply floor higher and retaining value for those finished products that way."

Temi states, "There isn't currently, I don't believe no, and I believe the intention for that was to keep a cost level on them, though I didn't design that craft in particular"

Sororitas says, "I feel this has come up a few times tbh and part of it was because not all fine wood options were suitable for bow making."

Bern nods to Temi, "I think that's what the general consensus was, and I think Sparkles is right that most of the upper level crafts have that to retain that value as a floor. Thanks!"

"Yeah, I specifically found it out from bowmaking as it's the only wood available for it." Bern notes. [Bern]

Temi states, "Yeah, I think bowmaking is one that is specifically in there. But yes, it's intentional that not everything is able to be sourced without purchasing ingredients for every craft"

Scarry says, "Blacksmithing is almost an exception to this, actually."

Temi states, "Some will be more widespread than others"

Scarry claims, "Theoretically you can make all of it yourself."

Temi wonders, "Are you asking from an IC standpoint of 'how do you know?'"

Karrin claims, "Depends on the board. Some boards I think do show up screaming at you, some do not."

Sparkles claims, "More that it can get kind of lost in all the stuffs you get in a flood when you first login."

Temi says, "I personally don't rely too much on the login stuff because it does get lost in there, but check the little stars on account"

Bigman wonders, "One could conceivably make a client side trigger to make it scream at you in BRIGHT RED or some such. (or make the text red on certain boards on login?) "

Temi says, "So, obviously the login stuff is not formatted in a super helpful way"

Sororitas says, "I always read those login notices then type score to check the numbers if I have a board. Is there a way to have prompt notice that you have mail or a board? Might be a neat add but idk."

Temi claims, "I don't know that we want it in prompt. An immediate notification when you're not checking in the middle of RP could be disruptive"

Karrin claims, "Theoretically, we can have things do whatever we want as long as Lochan can program it. But, if you put the idea board up, be sure to be very specific about what you're wanting to see, so people can agree or disagree, and he knows what to do if he decides to do it."

Temi says, "There used to be a 'You've got mail' message that got removed"

Temi claims, "Because people would drop RP and run off to go get it right as soon as the message appeared"

Sororitas states, "Yeah I can see how that would be disruptive if people started to just run off as soon as they got it and didn't just use it to remember before you go to a next scene/home."

Bern "I always viewed Mail as a sort of 'Get to it when you have time', and Notify as a 'Hey, do you want to talk right now and skip the back and forth of mail' sort of thing, same with Messengers.

Temi states, "I do check score in RP sometimes, but usually not when I'm deeply in it. It's less upfront in your face."

Bigman states, "So while I fully understand spur of the moment stuff like executions ect, I've noticed in general, announcements of events are like a day or so ahead of time. That makes it extremely hard to plan around, which can be a bit stressful. I fully understand event planning is like herding cats, just wondered if a larger margin of headsup (with non spontaneous stuff) would be viable Again, only where viable, just I like to be able to really make time for fun events so they get the attention they deserve <3"

Sparkles questions, "How much further in advance as we thinking?"

Karrin says, "Yeah, for executions, etc, that can't be expected. But, I can see it for otehr things. Parties, etc, especically."

Karrin says, "Magebane announcements 2 days in advance doesn't really give people time to do masks/cloaks/etc."

Karrin claims, "Balls need gowns."

Temi says, "Totally encourage more advanced notice for most things, wherever possible. You don't need everything planned and ready before you put the announcement out - just the date and location settled."

HIEROPHANT claims, "My advice for setting events or scheduling on TI in general is pretty simple:
Set a date and time that works for you, with as much advanced notice as is workable, and whoever can show up, shows up. If not enough people show up to do the thing, you cancel, go home, and try again.
Timezones, work schedules, etc. is far too varied to really rely on any sort of RSVP situation, in my experience. It's usually just a good way to not have anything happen because not everyone you might want to go to the thing, can make it to the thing."

Karrin says, "I have also seen that trying to work around everyone's schedule doesn't work well. Work around those who are necessary, and set the time with enough notice that others can move things around, if possible."

Scarry states, "Also most things aren't like required anyway. I spared you all with the council meeting, tbh. It's a lot and most people have to be quiet for it."

Meiari states, "Tbf most people go to those things for the exp gain and lore drops. It's a good opportunity to follow up and ask 'wtf were you guys talking about'"

Bigman claims, "I usually like a week, depending on what it is, just for planning. Definately a reminder a little in advance, just if you tell me the day of, I can't guarantee I won't have 16 other things claiming my attention
And what Hierophant says, though I do like to do an attempt to at least make it in the right timezone for the key players."

HIEROPHANT exclaims, "If they're not critical (the Knighting requires the Squire being Knighted, so he's critical, for example) then they're nice to have there, but things must happen and we can't always make every occasion. This is worsened during holidays. So I agree, please announce things with more advance time when possible. If you're doing something off the cuff, improvisational, like a sudden party just for the fun of it - that's what the town criers and WhereRP are for!"

Sororitas trails off, "So normally events are pretty well planned out. As a recent failure to give advance notice though I admit the belting board was a bit later to go up than I meant. Life caught me there I do try to give more advance notice normally..."
