According to a notice recently posted in Church Square, the Holy Order of Dav
is requesting donations and volunteers to help with the cleaning and basic
repair of the Southside chapel. Requested volunteers include blacksmiths,
carpenters, and able-bodied freemen and women who can assist with manual
labor. Requested supplies include nails and wooden planks for boarding up
the chapel's broken windows. The notice cites Father Kincaid as the contact
for the project, which is slated to begin in Maius.

OOC: Break out your Freemen characters! Barring death or dismemberment (IC
or OOC ^_^), Nathaniel's player is planning to host a free-flowing event in
Southside on Saturday, September 24, either before or after the OOC meeting.

At the start of Maius, on a bright but brisk morning at Cityguard, a Decree
was issued by the Reeves and Crown regarding Tournament and Dueling rules and
regulations.

The Decree which primarily deals with the circumstances in which clemency
would be granted when issuing fatal blows between contestants, were drafted
by the Office of the High Steward. Regulations for how a Duel or Tournament
must be conducted in order to be legal are also clearly outlined in the
document. Fully endorsed by the signatory of the Reeves, the laws were
presented by the Honorable Lady Margaux ab Aguarossa for review by the Queen.
The Lady Justiciar Rimilde von Rievirkrintz explained how the Decree would be
tested during the upcoming ennobling tournament before being considered for
sign-off into law thereafter.

"By putting this Decree in for the tournament, we can use the event itself to
test the regulations in practice before they are implemented as law. Once
the tournament is concluded, the Decree will be reviewed and amended
accordingly before it is submitted to the Peerage for signatory. Once made
law, a public notice will be posted with the final version," said the
Justiciar in a strong, even tone.

After the announcement, the Lady Justiciar and the Lady High Steward walked
to the Reeve Public board outside of the Headquarters, where they posted the
detailed description of the proposed laws.

Piety has shifted up slightly.

A gathering of Southsiders and other commonfolk worked together at the old
Southside Church to do some much needed repairs, boarding up gaping windows,
sanding down the splintering pews and collecting broken stained glass. As an
initiative that felt amongst their own, Southsiders are feeling more
encouragement in their faith and more pride in their church.

News is spreading that the Marquis of Dastur is on his way to Lithmore
accompanied by only a small retinue, with the remainder of his party and
belongings to be sent after the Spring rains have ended and the western roads
are clear. Already, merchants are excited about the prospects of furnishing
the nobleman's undoubtedly expensive wardrobe and local estate, and word has
it that he'll be requiring a number of servants and staff to fill positions
in his household.

The Marquis' reasons for coming to Lithmore are no secret, either: he intends
to establish himself in the Lithmorran court, find a suitable wife, and
ensure his family's prosperity and future.

OOC: After the OOC chat tomorrow, October 1, there will be a 1-2 hour story
event to mark the Marquis' arrival. This event WILL be combat-oriented,
which means characters may possibly be injured (but not killed) during the
course of play. There will also be room for support roles such as doctors,
chronicling bards, able-bodied volunteers, someone to cook or hand out
rations, a person to care for the horses, etc. See 'story review 93' for the
hook. Messengers will start going out about 15 minutes after the OOC chat,
at which point brave adventurers will be given some time to prepare,
assemble, and join the story.

IC Earlier today at River Square the Reeves led former Knight and Earl
Marshall, Misune ab Levona from the Ahalin tower. Levona was gagged and his
hands bound securely behind him. Charged with attempted murder of Lord Grand
Master Ariel le Orban, which was clarified only to have failed because Levona
lost the fight - not that he chose to stop. There is no doubt to the crime
and it was committed in a public place. Levona, who had shown previous
contempt against the nobility, and had past charges, was sentenced to death
by decapitation.

"The law must be applied equally, regardless of someone's past history.
While Misune ab Levona has served the Kingdom for many years, that does not
excuse his actions and if anything makes these charges all the more serious.
He took aim to end another man's life out of hatred and has given every
indication that he would attempt to do so again if given release. As such,
he will pay for his actions with his own," was the statement issued by the
Justiciar.

Levona was spared the common criminal's noose due to his past service as Earl
Marshall, and as such, the Executioner cut off his head.

Representation from the Crown was present in a display of support for the
Reeves Lithmorran and the administration of justice.

Late into the month of Maius within the year 371c an announcement came from
the Troubadour's Guild, that the recently joined member Cadence le Saffrine
had stepped up into the Poet Laudate position.

Miss le Saffrine's sudden jump in rank comes as a surprise to many but there
are those who know the le Saffrine family boast a long line of bards so
perhaps her talent was recognised early, or perhaps her family really is as
influential as they like to think. Regardless of reason the Troubadours have
been lacking in leadership for a long time and miss le Saffrine is confident
she can get the guild back into shape, upon promotion she released the
following statement:

"Dear people of Lithmore. Some of you know me but many of you do not. I may
seem to many as young and experienced but I can assure you that I have every
intention of proving that I can provide the strong leadership and guiding
hand that this guild needs. I assure you all that soon the bardic arts will
once again be flourishing within our city and performances will be of the
highest caliber. I hope you all look forward to what is to come."

Only time will tell whether the young bard will live up to her promises but
many are interested to see what happens.

Let it be known that Dame Ellette ab Mercia has stepped down from the
position of Earl Marshal of the Knights Lithmorran, the reasons for this are
not public but the circumstances were voluntary. The Grand Masters convened
to choose a new Earl Marshal to lead the Knights through this dark period,
and decided upon Sir Gothan Moritz -- previously the Squire to the former
Earl Marshal. Upon the finalisation of the selection Sir Moritz gathered
those present in the Knights Keep to speak a few words of encouragement.

"Brothers and sisters, I have been given a great honour today to lead the
Knights into the future. To some of you this may come as a suprise that I
was selected to hold such prestigious command. To those of you who are
skeptical, I ask of you to put that aside and help me to strengthen our
mission.

I promise you, the Holy Order and the many peoples of Lithmore that I will
serve with every fibre of my body and soul to combat the taint that assails
us so. We must all be strong and remain vigilant for the taint is insidious,
and can and will be lurking wherever you least suspect it. We are the sword
and shield of the Order and of Lithmore, we shall not faulter and we shall
not fail. We will find the heretic, the mage and the dissident to bring them
the lords peace by the holy flame."

With relatively little fanfare, the long career of Grand Magnate Galen
Fairweather seems to have come to an end. No grand announcement or speech
accompanied the decision, and neither was there any clear cause, such as the
illness that had seen him temporarily retire a year or so prior. The Grand
Magnate simply tied up his loose ends and vacated the office, leaving
instructions for the remaining staff to keep things running while a new Grand
Magnate is selected.

No reason for the decision to retire has been publicly given, and indeed, the
Grand Magnate seems to have become scarce within the city itself.
Speculation abounds as to the motive behind the decision - many claim that
the Grand Magnate, having been raised in a simple freeman family but holding
a position usually reserved for high gentry, felt tremendous pressure and
isolation. The bawdier-minded among the city suspect that he may be chasing
after the similarly departed former Poet Laudate.

Regardless of the reason for his departure, Fairweather leaves behind a
uncontentious legacy following a very unlikely ascension. Appointed the
youngest Magnate of Lithmore in the guild's history in SC 367 and inheriting
the title of Grand Magnate not long after, he lead the Merchants Guild for
nearly five years.

The past weeks have been known for the increase of tension in Vintrius.
Several rumors have been circulating amongst the populace of a civil war
fought between the baron of Vintrius and the gentry families of the area.
Led by a gentleman named Kaython dul Pondulle, news have reached that the
Baron and Baroness of House dul Naevius were publicly executed during the
takeover of the castle of Vintrius. Other than that, little is known, though
it is talked that their young heir is somewhere in Lithmore, hiding.

Early in June, a ship belonging to dul Pondulle crashed into the docks while
there was a fight aboard, met by a contingent of reeves and knights. From it
came the Grand Chevalier of the Barony with a series of announcements that
were made public in the square. The first announcement is that the barony is
at war and that the Regent of the Baron Boy, Alathaea ab Moungrey, will be
open to negotiations between local nobility willing to join their efforts and
send men to war, claiming 'great rewards.' The second announcement is that
henceforth the heraldry of Vintrius has changed to a vert and argent chevron
and that the badge of Baron Barcus dul Naevius shall be known as a
Chevalierin the Vintrius surcoat riding a stallion to battle with a lance.

It is said that the Grand Chevalier remained a week more before returning to
the barony. The reason of his visit is yet unknown, except for those two
announcements.

Soon after the departure of Galen Fairweather, Trade Master Aios Draiski
expressed his interest in the position of Grand Magnate.

Former butcher and wholesaler, Aios Draiski also supervises a labor group
which provides goods and services to the Merchants Guild and the city at
large. In recent years, he accrued additional guild responsibilities such as
facilitating loans to enterprising citizens.

Though his swift approval implies strong support from within the guild, some
rumormongers balk at following one freeman Grand Magnate with another. Time
will tell what Grand Magnate Draiski has in store for the Merchants and for
Lithmore.

The High Synod was called to determine new leader of the Holy Inquisition.
On the day of Arendas, Quintilis 6th of SC 371, they have decided to bestow
this honour on Goodryke Sayer, previously an Inquisitor in the Holy Order of
Dav. After the ceremonies, the newly appointed Grand Inquisitor spoke to
those gathered outside.

"Good people of Lithmore. I understand that my appointment may come as a
surprise to many of you and that you may have doubts, I want you to know that
I have them too. And I urge you to, when faced with those doubts, join me
and put your faith in Lord of the springs as it is in His will that I stand
here and now.

As only united in our unwavering belief in the Lord we will be able to
overcome the dire times that we are experiencing now and reach to the new
dawn that awaits after every darkness.

To all the peoples of the Kingdom of Lithmore, varying in cultures, attitudes
and statuses:

As some of you are aware, for some time a war has been waging in the Barony
of Vintrius. I hesitate to call it 'war', however, for war implies there
aresides each engaging in legitimate battle. That is not what has unfolded
in Vintrius. The noble House that His Grace, the Duke dul Acris personally
placed into the Baronial Seat was murdered in cold blood without cause or
trial. Women have been slaughtered, children driven out of their homes in
the dead of night, their unarmed care-takers cut down, and thugs sent to
murder a boy of twelve for the simple crime of possessing the name which
earned his Duke's favor.

The Crown unflinchingly provides its full support to His Grace dul Acris, and
honors his decision to place House dul Naevius on the seat of Vintrius. We
will not tolerate His Grace's will being questioned and compromised by force
of violence.

I wish to be abundantly clear, so that all those who might be tempted to join
the rebellion in Vintrius know that treason is the crime they flirt with
committing. There is no Urthly prize in existence worth turning your back
upon your Lord, your Duke, and your Queen. The Crown will never condone what
has been done; even should you murder your way across Vintrius, purging every
drop of dul Naevius blood, you will never legitimately hold Vintrius. You
will soon find that it was all for naught.

The combined forces of countless noble houses stand ready to put Vintrius to
rights, yet the Crown still offers the rebels one final mercy: Lay down your
arms and relent to the Duke dul Acris' will, pledge your fealty to House dul
Naevius, turn over your treasonous leader, Kaython dul Pondulle, and you will
be treated justly.

The rebellion has one week to commit to open surrender, and would be
ill-advised to believe that we are not watching.

The Lady Justiciar Rimilde von Rievirkrintz stood in front of Cityguard with
a content smile on her stern features as she made a public announcement to
the Reeves and the public.

Having just returned to the Capital after a couple weeks outside the city on
Reeve business, the Justiciar spoke with energy and resolve, "I am pleased to
announce my appointment of Tobius le Darrow as the Proconsul of Lithmore,"
she began.

"Tobius le Darrow has served the Reeves for over three years in both Tubor
and in Lithmore. He has filled the roles of Detective, Captain and
Magistrate. He has also held the position of Epion and Prime Medicus with
the Physicians. His background is diverse, his service impeccable and should
bode him well in the administration of justice."

The Justiciar went on to say, "Tobius le Darrow is not only an exceptional
Reeve, but his loyalty and his honour has been seen in his dedication to the
City on many occasion. I welcome him to the Proconsulate Council."

A Magistrate was present to educate the public on the role of the Proconsul.
"The Proconsul is the most senior reeve of a duchy. Together, they form the
Proconsulate Council, which rules on Points of Law. They answer to the
Justiciar, who in turn is responsible to the Queen," explained the Senior
Reeve.

As always, heralds announce the latest news in the month of Quintilis in
taverns, the Crossroads, the squares of Lithmore, Wilhelm and villages
further away. Amongst the many news and paid announcements, the most
important are:

At the start of the month, while the peoples of the realm went to mass,
heralds talked of a thief was readily caught by the reeves trying to steal a
basket of fruits from a vendor outside. The quick response of a young cadet
was applauded by the populace. This is not the only good response from the
Queen's Law this month, though, as a group of commoners mugged a gentleman
while he was hunting out in the forest; the Reeves readily captured the band
of criminals. It is said that it was vengeance for the 'pompous' behavior of
the gentleman, a speech that has worried the upper classes of society.

Recently, the city has seen a healthy influx in traders and merchants. The
ports see new ships arrive every morn with a wealthy cargo of goods from all
duchies of the realm. Trade has been going particularly well during these
past months and it is in the mouth of heralds. This does not seem like it
will stop in the weeks to come.

There has been a recent scandal as a whole block of stone fell from the walls
of Lithmore and debate has rose if the defenses of Lithmore are really in the
best condition they could be.

The North Road has many broken patches and earlier this day a cart lost a
wheel. There's a general gloominess about the status quo of the city and it
is not only about the state of the roads and how broken they seem to be; the
Hollow Globe has seen very few shows in the past weeks. It has turned into a
tradition of tavern talk to complain about everything and all: the war, the
roads, the bards, money, and anything people can think of.

Her Royal Majesty arrived back in Lithmore City early in Augustus, returning
from a regal visit to Farin. No sooner had she arrived when she entered into
private council with her closest advisors; amongst them the Lady Keeper of
the Seal and Lady High Steward. Much is said to have been discussed, from
the laws of the realm, to the kingdom's footing with regards to the Daravi
and recent events in Vavardi province of Vintrius. The outcomes of those
discussions have not been released, but one item of note came afterwards with
an announcement from the Court's Herald:

"Her Majesty has determined to reshuffle her privy council, granting the Lady
Keeper of the Seal ab Kovar's request for temporary leave from high office in
order to deal with personal family matters- and wishes to thank the Lady ab
Kovar for her good work in the role. She is also pleased to announce that
the current Lady High Steward, Margaux ab Aguarossa will be elevated to the
seat of the Keeper of the Seal to oversee matters in Lithmore."

"Her Majesty further wishes all of Lithmore bounty and good fortune for the
upcoming Hunting Festival."

As Grand Inquisitor of the Holy Order of Dav, I am speaking out today to you
troubled with the news coming from Vintrius, where a grave sin not only took
place but continues to go on unchecked. And that is something I cannot
remain idle about.

I wish to remind that when we sin, we invite taint to take hold of our souls.
And when the taint gets too heavy, it draws the soul down, to the realm of
demons. And when that happens, most often only the Cleansing Fire is left as
a way to be reunited with the Lord of the Springs. And even though many of
you have sinned, it is not too late to be redeemed and rejoined with the
Lord. But for that, you must confess your sins and accept the penance for
it. So I urge you to stand down, surrender your arms and hostility.

I also appeal to the rightful forces supporting House dul Naevius to show
mercy to those people, to allow them to be cleansed of their sin before they
will meet whatever faith may awaits them. As to deny them this right would
be to push their soul into the darkness, condeming them to eternal damnation
among the demons.

May Lord bless and guide us through those troubled times.

The Queen was celebrating her birthday, and the Royal Court had organized an
event at the Farin Embassy, when suddenly the Daravi wing of the Embassy
Buildings crumbled, with clouds of dust and debris coming off the remains.
The talk in the taverns and other public venues is that someone might've been
trapped inside, but most of the ambassadors had luckily been away from the
area at the time of the accident.

The von Kapnner Cohort has today departed after three years in Lithmore,
together with their owner, Tacitus von Kapnner. After an unsuccessful run in
the Royal Court of Lithmore, the talk in the taverns is that Tacitus' ego was
never built again, more so after recent scandals.

By 370, the von Kapnners were one of the richest in Lithmore and had a
wealthy household with a staff growing up to the fifty members. After his
arrest and resignation from court, the estate had been seen dropping in
servants day after day.

Few know what the von Kapnner Merchant will do now.

According to the runners, the nobleman is opening the doors of his newly
renovated estate and is welcoming the public at large into his home for a day
of festivities. There will be music, food, drink, puzzles, prizes, and party
gifts to kick off the Yule season. Guests may come dressed as they are,
provided that they meet basic Lithmorran standards of decency, but all are
encouraged to dress in their finest.

Known in Vavard for his plays and skits, his fame was built often by
organizing his own festivals during religious holidays, and his close ties
with the clergy earned him a path to assume the position in Lithmore.

In a recent announcement made at Court, Eirian ab Castell, the Marquis of
Dastur, was named Keeper of Her Majesty's Royal Seal. Critics of the choice
point to the Marquis' relatively short tenure as a titled noble and his
continued dabbling in mercantile affairs. Supporters, on the other hand,
note that the Marquis seems to have a genuine interest in serving Crown and
Kingdom and that his family has done so for generations already.

In a brief speech at the Royal Palace, the new Keeper pledged to do his best
to fill the rather large shoes left behind by Lady Emma ab Kovar and Lady
Margaux ab Aguarossa. The Marquis also invited members of the Court to speak
with him on issues of interest, such as public works, secretarial offices,
and ways to make the transition easier for nobility who choose to take up
residence in the capital.

Dead animals have appeared at unusual locations of the city and the
wilderness, and they did not look like they had had normal deaths: they
looked infested with green blood. The farmers at the surrounding areas of
the city have reported that some of their livestock are dying and 'that they
are curse because their blood is green.' One particular farmer had the
misfortune of cooking the meat of one of the infested animals and died a few
hours later, vomiting. No human cases have been reported.

On the other hand, economy has been on a steady climb for months already, and
new goods have arrived from different parts of the kingdom and are now
available in a few shops of the city.

The Daravi Embassy has remained crumbled and the citizens living next to it
have been openly complaining that the debris has been left within and nobody
has taken the job to clean it up.

Several brawls have been erupting in taverns of the city, and the amount of
lashings in the city has jumped considerably; the people of Lithmore seem
jumpy and impatient with the current status quo.

patients as well, may speak their thoughts, regarding their concerns over
health matters. I intend to go forward, promoting the guild, and making the
physicians a more active presence in the city."

When asked what her number one priority is as the prime, she replied, "My
first priority, has and will always will be to the patients. To make them
feel comfortable with the new transition." Soon after, the gathering
dispersed, and she entered the hospital.

Proconsul Tobius le Darrow brought an unshackled Cicero Thorne to the River
Square for a canning on the evening of Decembris 16, 371. Announcement of
charges involved general discourteous behavior towards social superiors,
false accusations against the Proconsul himself, and a brief explanation that
the behavior had caused some debate as to how to properly handle it due to
his former position as a Reeve. The Proconsul was said to have added that
disrespect towards the Lady Justiciar and insults towards a noble were what
led to the ten strikes with a cane.

Some in the crowd were heard to be confused and upset about the punishment.
The Proconsul stayed a bit afterwards to clarify for several of the guards
that were just as confused as much of the populace and is said to have made
the statement, "The thing is that Mister Thorne was corrected several times
on how to address superiors with no actions taken. It is my understanding
that, even after this correction and after his resignation from the Reeves,
he continued to be lacking in manners. Specifically, he directly challenged
the Lady Justiciar on how she ran the Reeves after being told that this is
far, far out of the range of reasonable for him to be doing, he was insulting
to a noble, he continued to make false accusations about myself after being
corrected numerous times, and he continued to quote the law at several
Reeves, including the Justiciar herself, as though he had any right of
interpretation or authority on the subject. The man is brilliant, but he
refuses to respect those in authority if he does not agree with them, and he
continually argues and challenges those he has no business challenging or
questioning."

Regardless, there is still some debate about how the situation was handled.
Much of it seems to surround the fact that the canning occurred during Yule.

that she conspired to undermine and blackmail a titled noble and a servant of
the Crown. She has been fined one hundred gold crowns for this offense and
has been instructed to prepare a formal, written apology. Given her
propensity to brag about her wealth, I believe this amount to be appropriate,
especially in lieu of physical punishment this time of year. Her fine, once
paid, will be used to help repair the remaining damage to the North Road,
clean up the rubble near the fallen Daravi Embassy, and to fund other public
works, so that some good may yet come of her behavior. That is all. You are
free to go on about your business, and Lord bless."

It is said that members of both the Knights and the Reeves were present
during His Grace's confrontation of Vicannia le Serre, and that when she was
asked to hand over any keys she held on the Court's behalf, she did so
cooperatively, noting, "Only a fool would be uncooperative in such an
instance." She then promised to get to the bottom of the matter.

rumor is falsely misleading. Please do not allow yourselves to be misled by
this bit of idle gossip."

The Keeper ended his brief speech with the call, "Long live the Queen!" The
crowd is said to have echoed the sentiment enthusiastically with steins and
goblets raised. When asked about reports of piracy in general, he stated
that while there is always a concern of piracy in the Dralth, there have been
no significant reports and certainly none that would involve Her Majesty.

During the past week, members of the Lithmore Laborers Coalition have been
spotted along the North Road, filling in the last of the holes that have

Earl Marshall and Prime Medicus are said to have been among the volunteers,
many of whom worked from sunup to sundown to see the job done.

During a brisk afternoon in Church Square, an impromptu gathering was held by
Vicannia le Serre, with town criers going out to the southside and civic
sector of lithmore.

"Dear people of lithmore, or more correctly those who feel they are
forgotten. Your frustrations and anger with how you've been neglected in
such hard times have not fallen on deaf ears. I am sure I am the last person
any of you expected to see speaking, the one who gloats about their wealth as
the Lord Keeper so put it. But I am here today to tell you that despite
being gentry and admittingly having no way to truly sympathize with your
plight, I wish to help it. This desire stems from a future I saw for the
kingdom."

"It is no secret I had submitted a proposal for colonization within the
Charali Plains. Had my proposal gone through instead of being ignored
Lithmore no... The entire kingdom would have seen an era not unlike when Dav
himself sought to unite the lands under one ruler. An era of renewed trade,
of exploration beyond our maps! But more importantly, and era that would
lead to a massive advantage over the Daravi, possibly even an end to our war
with the Daravi given time. This future was ripped away from the kingdom by
those who lacked vision. But now I shall see to it that at least some
fraction of this future is brought to our city."

"As such it is with great pride I wish to announce my first step towards this
future. I have secured an excess amount of firewood which shall promptly be
distributed amongst southside with the assistance of the Grand Magnate. No
Family shall go cold from this point forward, for as long as I remain within
Lithmore I shall see to it that the winters are eased for those less
fortunate. And this is just the first step, as I assure more shall take
place with time."

"I will not allow you to be forgotten."

And with the parting words Vicannia le Serre stepped away from the gathered
crowd, many of whom were filled with doubt and speculation. However their
doubt was misplaced as not even three days after the speech large shipments
of firewood were delivered and distributed amongst the southside, with what
excess there was being given to the Southside Almshouse for further
distribution.

brand it unlikely because she's not thrown herself any galas nor blocked any
city roads riding ten deep in a Vandagan entourage.

Other gossip suggests she's come to settle an old dance score with a former
Poet Laudate, that her noble parents have begun to make marriage arrangements
for her, and that she's deathly ill - notably, she once fainted in the
Crossroads because a woman locked up in the stocks yelled at her too loudly.

unrest in the Barony of Vintrius in Vavard. In accordance with Her Majesty's
wishes, the Lithmorran Court does not, and will not, officially involve
itself in this matter, which is considered to be under the direct purview of
Lord Loran dul Acris, the Duke of Vavard. The Duke, in turn, has made it
very clear that he considers the civil unrest in Vintrius to be the sole
responsibility of Lord Barcus dul Naevius. Thus, Lord dul Naevius is to be
treated as a noble peer, with full rights to his Barony and all the
responsibility that comes with such a title. While members of the Court may
aid the young Baron at their discretion, they are under no obligation to do
so and will not be held accountable for their involvement unless they are
found to be in breach of local Lithmorran laws and customs."

The Keeper then stated that any questions about the matter should be directed
to Lord Barcus dul Naevius himself, though he did add that, as a fellow
nobleman, he wishes Lord Barcus the utmost success in restoring peace and
prosperity to the Barony of Vintrius.

Following the statement issued by the Royal Court of Lithmore regarding the
rebellion of the local gentry and commoners in the barony of Vintrius, none
of the representatives of the baronial court nor the Lord Baron himself are
addressing the matter or giving any response.

The truce between the rebels and the baronial forces finished the first day
of the sun cycle. Months before, Kaython dul Pondulle, iconic leader of the
opposition, died in an incident that some claim might've been caused by the
troops of the baron. Some of the gossip even pointed to Vicannia le Serre,
recently removed from the Royal Court and fined for blackmailing. News of
days-long skirmishes in Vintrius south of Port Ventura, the only access to
the sea of the barony and a key scenario for the future of the war and the
communication between the Baron and his chevaliers fighting the war, has
been reaching the capital too, though the Baron and his men have not spoken
of this either.

The young Lord Barcus dul Naevius has not been seen in public since the day
of the announcement, either, but a caravan was sighted departing the Estate
of House dul Naevius early in the morning, heading towards the Holy Springs
with Vintrius-clad guards. If young Lord Barcus dul Naevius was escorted in
the caravan or not is now a matter of mere gossip.

the first flames reported by passersby shortly after midnight and the last
reported quelled by dawn. The inferno erupted on the first floor and crept

and journeyman halls. The Troubadours' leadership have not yet reached out
for assistance in rebuilding the Globe, and the cause of the blaze remains

Rumors of the new Baron of Volsuan making a visit to the capital seem to have
been confirmed, much to the delight of the town gossips. At least one young
lordling was displaying his signet ring for all to see as he rode in through
the North Gate. According to those who where there he cut quite the figure
and seemed to be enjoying the attention, encouraging his horse to prance
about. His armsmen seemed to be a more sober lot and they spent most of
their time eyeing the crowd.

About a month ago now, a grisly message was found at the entrance to the
Madison hospital. In horrific print made in blood, the name 'DIANA LE FURIL'
has been drawn over the front door of the hopital and a bucket of what
appears to be animal blood was kicked to the wayside.

Those present were quite shocked, the Prime Medicus most notably as she was
lead to safety. Anyone who could have seen whoever did this disgusting act
is asked to come forth with whatever they know (even though there was
reportedly a single, unnamed witness). As a side note, it appears that the
one who first discovered the mess will be the one to clean it up.

them. It is said that he travelled to Lithmore in order to meet with
Countess Haizea von Mazina and begin preparations for marriage. It is also

Marquis of Bastion. The newly crowned Marquis is apparently the last of his
