Karrin states, "OOC Chat Rules:
- Approach each topic with the mindset that each person is doing the best they can with the
knowledge they have, staff and player alike.
- Please avoid topics around current events. Nothing should be revealed in an OOC meeting that others would prefer to find out in game ICly.
- This is not the correct forum for criticism of a specific player or a topic centered around one
player. If there are concerns about a specific player, please address that with staff privately.
- This is not the correct forum for bringing up policy violations. If there are instances of
perceived policy violations, please address that with staff privately."

PositronicJune says, "RATS"

Temi grins.

Karrin states, "Ok guys, how has RP been this week? I've been able to be around a bit more after beating work back, and we've had a healthy amount of people online."

Karrin has transferred PositronicJune. [OOC]

PositronicJune claims, "This is getting out of hand"

Temi gives a twirling stick toy dangling six small rats by their tails to PositronicJune.

PositronicJune claims, ":)"

Karrin has transferred Ikeala. [OOC]

Temi gives a twirling stick toy dangling six small rats by their tails to Ikeala.

PositronicJune claims, "Oh hey Ikeala"

Scarry claims, "I have gunk in lung disease, but I still managed to do the most important bits of RP I had planned, like promoting my dudes and frustrating Vavardi women."
Temi says, "Important things"

Temi nods at Scarry.

PositronicJune trails off, "Wow...."

Karrin claims to Scarry, "Oh, the Vavardi women part is the most important."

Karrin says, "Sorry about the gunky lungs, though. That sucks."

Valora states, "RP was good. Had some good scenes. Some folks been a very productive and interesting week."

PositronicJune claims, "What'd we ever do to you"

Karrin states to PositronicJune, "Exist."

Brenier claims, "Had some very good scenes and RP as well."

PositronicJune sobs.

Scarry states, "Complain about how I make my tea."

Karrin chuckles.

Valora trails off, "Hands and brain did not work at the same speed in my last message... I need coffee..."
Karrin wonders, "Alright, so does anyone have any topics for this week?"

Kalana states, "Me too, had some nice rp when I was about"

Karrin says, "Love to hear about the good RP. Sometimes it gets a bit quiet in this place."

Valora shakes her head.
Scarry says, "I mean I do notice a lot of americans don't play as much but well. CURRENT POLITICAL CLIMATE"

Karrin claims, "Eh, we'll keep politics out of things. I know for me, personally, work just gets
heavy this time of year."

Karrin states, "Which is true for a lot of people in any kind of educational field. The later months of spring are like wrangling cattle."

Karrin states, "Or, I guess misbehaving ducks."

PositronicJune says, "I don't miss school"

Valora trails off, "Yeah I have enough trouble wrangling coworkers let alone students..."

Temi claims, "Life does have a way of happening"

Karrin questions, "Well, if there are no topics, we can send you back probably. Anything anyone have that just wants a quick conversation? Anything great they've seen that they'd like to see more of?"

Temi says, "Well, I can give folks a reminder to make sure your plots are in queued state so I know to check them, though I try to keep an eye on the needs input too"

Karrin nods.

Scarry says, "I got nothing but "When book". Lol."

Valora trails off, "I definitely already made the mistake of forgetting to submit after editing..."

Karrin wonders, "Oh no! Did you at least store it so you didn't lose it?"

Temi states, "Please let me know if you do catch these things early too and I'll try to reorient on that"

Valora claims, "Oh yeah it was just stored but like I didn't realize until like 4 days later and
missed the window."

PositronicJune asks, "I don't think you can *not* submit or store it, right?"

Karrin says to Valora, "Oh, gotcha."

Karrin muses to PositronicJune, "You can accidentally 'cancel' and delete it, I think?"

PositronicJune questions, "I don't think you can cancel a plot edit?"

Temi says, "I think only on the first creation, not the edits, yeah"

PositronicJune questions, "Unless you're creating a new plot?"

Karrin nods.

Karrin says, "Oh, that's good at least."

Karrin says, "I just know it's happened, and through all of my years, I've just tried to be SUPER
careful."

PositronicJune states, "I guess if there's nothing else before we return. Council meeting after
this"

Brenier states, "This is all good to know. I've done my first couple plot interactions, afraid of
blowing things up."

Kalana queries, "Are we starting immediately or after the hour it would normally be?"

Valora states, "Council meeting, All are welcome to soak up massive XP bonuses even if not in the council."

Brenier states, "Oh nice I was wondering if that was open to the public to watch."

Scarry claims, "Usually is."

Scarry says, "These have been the easiest 3 QP ever made, holy shit."

Karrin states, "Open to the public. Can vary anywhere between sleeping pills or incredibly spicy burrito. Just depends on the topics and what goes on."

Brenier states, "I'm going to hope for spicy burrito. Sorry. XD"

Meiari muses, "Probably after the hour it normally would be? I don't think the player of Zarif is online, wanna make sure people have the ability to join and not miss anything fun"

Kalana claims, "Sounds good"

Meiari death stares at mages and brotherhood shinanegains.

Scarry states, "Gives me more time to bully Elisabetta."

Karrin states, "Everyone enjoys bullying Elisabetta. Someday, Elisabetta will growl and strike back, and instill terror in all of the bullies."

Meiari trails off, "One day... one day... until then she gets tortured with salt tea"

Valora states, "That or refuse to make you clothes and then you get to wear the same outfit
forever."

Temi says, "That's awfully drastic"

Scarry claims, "Sounds good to me I am doing that anyway."

Meiari states, "I dunno, might be punishing herself if y'all wore the same thing day in and day out"

Scarry says, "Kah does that LOL"

Temi claims, "They could get a little stinky, for sure"

Temi claims, "Oh, also, I may be scarce next weekend, visiting family. So may still be in some, but not as much as usual"

Scarry states, "Nah, they wash them clothes every day or after treating someone."

Karrin chuckles.

Karrin says, "Oh, I had a question."

Meiari claims, "No answers"

Scarry states, "I don't talk to cops."

PositronicJune questions, "Yea Karrin?"

Karrin has transferred Rambling. [OOC]
PositronicJune says, "Youre late"

Eeel trails off, "Imagine if you codedly had to wash your clothes as well..."

Rambling says, "Why are there two junes"

Meiari claims, "Well it's included in the wash string if you do so bloody and gory, if that counts for washing clothes."

PositronicJune says, "We are many."

PositronicJune states, "Imagine if you had to eat and drink"

Karrin claims, "I have noticed that a few on grid have taken to trying to be in certain places at certain times, predictable type... THINGS... and I know another MUD that does that - they have an actual daily schedule of certain people hosting things at certain times. Sort of like, so people logging in know they'll have something to interact with. Do you think this would help with activity or at least predictability of when people will be around? Say, we know members of the council will try their best to be in the council chamber every Friday at 4, or the merchants available in their guildhall entrance every Tuesday at 7. That sort of thing."

Karrin states to Rambling, "She's multiplying."

Temi gives a twirling stick toy dangling six small rats by their tails to Rambling.

Rambling muses, "...wait a second are these my rats?"

PositronicJune claims, "I feel like I'd have a hard time keeping up with that"

Temi wonders, "Who wha?"

Temi grins innocently to Rambling.

Karrin claims, "Ok, fair."

Rambling says, "Loooooool"

Ikeala queries, "I do wonder if a bot or way to post events in the Discord might work though?"

Scarry asks, "I mean, it's a good idea on paper, but also my life is pretty unpredictable with two toddlers and a elementary school kid around. So I would feel bad to not be able to do this commitment everytime. I can certainly try?"

Karrin claims, "But if there are no events happening, then posting them does no good. I guess I'm suggesting... maybe more regular, casual, events."

Karrin nods.

Valora claims, "Hum... well I think that would be a good idea... though I know for me I'd be happy to do like a combat training/rp hour but there'd have to be a way to confirm interest. If you could do that I think that would be cool."

Karrin states, "I don't think I mean like... EVERY week. And of course no shame if you can't. But, I nthought it might be something to try. It does seem to work elsewhere, though admittedly events are often cancelled. But I do wonder if knowing people will be around to play with might pull more people on."

PositronicJune claims, "I'm often logged in just to see if anything happens, even if not in any particular place. I can be summoned with a messenger or 'notify guild'"

PositronicJune states, "I feel like scheduling invites disappointment when the person isn't there"

Karrin states to Valora, "That's sort of what I'm thinking, yes. Say, every other Wednesday at 6 pm, practice hour for beating each other up. Yeah."

Scarry says, "I'll certainly try and see how it goes. Doctor hours. Have a health concern or just
want to get medical advice, I'm your ambiguous goblin in a cloak."

PositronicJune says, "The Doctor is In"

Karrin claims to PositronicJune, "Which is possible, of course. But also expecting everyone to reach out... means people won't reach out. So being in public and available is nice, plus having something to do while public and available is double nice."

Karrin states, "And WOULD help us ease in our newer players, too. (And ease the rumors about "OMG, I never see this person in public." Because, you'd BE in public, at least for a lil' while.)"

PositronicJune claims, "Weh. Well, I'm often doing my idling in public places at least"

Karrin nods.

Ikeala says, "Time to start haunting the local graveyard on Thursdays."

Meiari trails off, "I dunno I see pros and cons with it, I wouldn't want to feel obliged to making meeting times on a regular - that makes the game less game-y and more job-y... but I also think it would be a great boon for newer players and players who are a bit more introverted"

Karrin says, "Haha. You could absolutely also do something that is guild-based. Doesn't have to befor EVERYBODY."

Karrin asks of Brenier, "As a new player, what sorts of things might you want to see? Or what have you seen that has peaked interest?"

Valora states, "I'm down for a running schedule/calendar of regular/scheduled events. An interest tracker would help a lot but I think that's just a good idea in general."

Temi nods in agreement.

Scarry says, "Brenier loves anything where he doesn't have to interact with me, because I say
terrible things and he goes "oh no""

Karrin states, "I don't want anyone to think it obligates them to be on and hosting constant events for literal hours. I mean like... an hour a week, post it up for people, helps both you and everyone else keep their activity up, and gives new people things to attend to get to know people? I know I've seen game nights goign on, and there was recently a thingie at the tents, and I thought I heard the merchants had been doing a crafting something or other recently."

Karrin queries, "We can brainstorm a way to make it visible both here and on the discord, maybe?"

Karrin says, "At the same time, if we're going to try it, let's be genuine with the hosts, too. Ifsomeone is going out of their way to host something, DON'T FEEL OBLIGATED, but if you can and it's ICly something that makes sense, slide on by for at least a few? Sort of... show support as long as it makes IC sense. And, might find some fun things around."

Scarry claims, "There is certainly things that could benefit better discord integration. But thatalways runs into the danger of like, exposing people OOC. On the top of my head would be pings for STs going on or admin events happening."

Karrin nods.

Karrin says, "Go sit with the Physicians and pick on them about how real doctors all should havebeards like dwarves. That sort of thing."

Eeel trails off, "I could grow a beard..."

Brenier states, "I've enjoyed when there's been things like the game night or the bonfire outsidewith the stories, the impromptu sparring with Valora - I think scheduling helps but impromptu stuff just happens, too."

Rambling states, "Me when i perform surgery and kill the patient, my assistant, and an observer"

Scarry states, "Hey, I show up to game night when I'm around."

Valora nods in agreement with Karrin. "I think it sounds good. Though open doctors hours might just be 'Valora goes hunting two hours before hand gets a bit injured manhandling wolves so comes by to give them something to heal' hehe"

Rambling says, "High score"

Karrin says, "ANYWAY, food for thought. We can always start some thingies on the general board for events on specific days, and let people update them. And then, if need be, we can make sure at least one person posts the days events over on the discord, too. In case people want to come."

Karrin chuckles.

Meiari golf claps for Rambling.

Scarry states, "Oh frak I have a brilliant fucking idea."

Karrin claims to Scarry, "And it's good? That one has been going on the longest, I think, though it's not every week as far as I can tell."

Karrin states, "I meant the game night, not the idea. Share the idea."

Rambling desperately scrambles to Scarry, "Scarry NOOOOO"

Scarry says, "How about a bot that you can DM and it announces with a ping for a role, like'interested in events' or something and it relays it, preserving anonymity and enabling people to broadcast their things."

Temi states, "That could be handy"

Karrin asks of Temi, "Think we can find something like that?"

Temi says, "I've never done a discord bot but I suspect it's not too hard to do something like that"

Karrin says, "I mean, it can still even be impromptu. You have time you didn't expect, throw out there, "Going to be in the hospital for the next hour or so, available for RP.""

Karrin nods at Temi.

Karrin says, "If people would like to come in and join you, they can. If not, no harm, no foul."

Scarry claims, "I have some discord nuts, so if you don't find anything, I can poke them."
Temi claims, "My husband might know a thing or two as well"

Karrin claims, "And in the meantime, I'll be more present! Just takes me remembering to open my laptop and log in. If you want me to send something to discord, just send me a tell. I'll send it when I see it (bright red helps). And you can always do the NOTIFY RP command here to let eveyrone know here."

Karrin says, "Though, I think that only works in public rooms."

Temi says, "Hrm, not sure if that restriction's on it. But those will be the best for that sort of thing anyway"

Karrin nods.

Karrin says, "True."

PositronicJune says, "I've written a bot before myself"

Karrin claims, "Ok! Well, thank you for humoring my idea."

Scarry says, "Thank you for humoring mine, lol."

Karrin claims, "I think that us being vocal about our availability might even get people to log in,and have more people around that are interested. Won't ALWAYS work, because people aren't always available."

Karrin wonders, "But can't hurt?"

Temi nods in agreement.

Temi says, "Seems generally positive. Worst outcome is people don't use it"

Karrin nods.

Ikeala has lost link.

Ikeala has reconnected.

Karrin muses, "For those of you who rarely log on (because we do have some here), would it make you more liable to log in if you know something's going on and you'll get RP?"

Kalana states, "I don't know if I'm rarely log in, but I might be able to prioritize it some times if there's something fun to do"

Karrin nods.

Scarry claims, "We should open a book club (:"

Ikeala states, "I will say my joke about the graveyard aside earlier, when public gatherings are more rare it can feel worse to 'ruin' them so it can make spooking less likely. "

Karrin claims, "Oh, would... having more public events possibly also bring more spooky magey things? Because, I like that idea a lot."

Scarry asks, "Possibly, I guess?"

Karrin states, "Nice! I know there's been pushes in the past to basically just demand people be public and available, and I admit I was kinda meh about them. But, I like this better because it's 1) public, 2) available and 3) something to DO."

Ikeala asks, "Yeah, like when folks are out/about less you feel (or I do at least) kind of bad if I throw the vibe off and then folks don't get to do whatever was planned. But when there's more 'stuff' on the schedule so to speak, I don't feel that?"

Ikeala claims, "I guess as a way to explain it."

Karrin claims, "All martials get together to beat the crap out of each other. All crafters get together to sit and tool and chitchat. All crafters get together to help the newbs learn the sacred rule of 59. that sort of thing."

Rambling says, "I mean, the weekly fist fight DOES sound like a good deal"

Rambling states, "Monthly bar crawl"

Karrin says, "Right? That's exactly what I'm thinking. If *you* think it would be fun, others might, too."

Karrin states, "Anyway, keep it in mind? Poke me via tell until we get this bot done, and I'll post it on discord. Make it in a public room so you can use NOTIFY RP on here, and we can say something on visnet, too."

Brenier says OOCly, "Sacred rule of 59?"

Scarry states, "You wouldn't catch me dead rping and tooling at the same time. I would explode."

PositronicJune claims, "@Brenier For consistency item shorts are generally exactly 59 characters, which is the limit"

Temi claims, "It's a weird cultural thing, but people are quite attached to it"

Temi grins.

Scarry says, "It's the one sacred thing I agree with, it looks nice. The other sacred rule of one colour string for one outfit I don't, really."

Valora claims, "59 is the number of characters an item short string can before it wraps when worn. So it breaks to flow of the wear items or things in the inventory. It's a cultural thing. Not a requirement but... it may make people less likely to buy it if the rest of it isn't amazing."

PositronicJune claims, "Yeah I tend to vary colors"

Karrin chuckles.

Karrin claims, "There we go. Alright, if there's no other topics, I can shuffle you back to grid? And we'll see about the semantics of this all. Use me in the meantime. I'll be your Huckleberry."

Brenier says OOCly, "Oh!"

Scarry claims, "Everyone in Lithmore just wears one colour at a time. More colours offend Dav."

Brenier claims, "Got it! Good to know."

Brenier says, "The matching string lengths I noticed...59 characters, excellent to know. The only one color thing seems sus, Scarry. XD"

Valora waves.

Kalana states, "Well, there was a lot of men for a while that only did black, though I feel like that's gotten better"

Scarry says, "Look at the outfits of people."

Scarry says, "You WILL notice."

Karrin states, "Alrighty, sending you back. You have 3 seconds for any last snide remarks."

Karrin trails off, "3....."

Karrin trails off, "2... type fast"

Meiari claims, "Give colors and secondaries if you want more outfits"

Karrin trails off, "1...."

PositronicJune is idle.

Karrin declaims, "Have fun!"
