An idea I got from playing on LA: A House Divided MUSH - a Vampire: The Masquerade game that might be workable here in TI with our large social game.

Status: Basically, this reflected a vampire's reputation amongst his or her kind. If you pissed a person off, they could drop a negative vote on you or a positive vote if you were interesting or for whatever reasons they desired... they could also support or oppose you which was a more permanent and heavier weighted vote. These votes were registered into a rumor system in such a way like so:

+status/support Charmaine=Her Majesty certainly knows what she's doing. Long live Her Majesty!

The last part was meant to reflect the view of the supporting/opposing vote and was the rumor that could be investigated by players to determine whom was supporting/opposing whom.

The status system basically allowed you to 'pull rank' on another vampire if they were f'ing things up for you. They could ignore you, but they suffered the penalty of not being able to pull rank on others themselves for a time. For example: Jei is annoying Caria's Knights. Caria has a higher status than Jei. She uses her status to get Jei to stop annoying them... Jei can choose to ignore her, but he can't use his own status for some time afterwards as a penalty. The resulting negative votes usually made ignoring others hard to do, but could find a place on TI.

Also with +status/list you got a list of the general pecking order which could look like this potentially:

Charmaine
Caria
Tobin, Nicki, Paloma
Cecil
Jei, Amdair, Kaemgen

Even non-nobles could get in on the social game and might even have enough social clout to make a noble back down from them. It also makes playing the cliquish game undesirable because if you're only interacting with several people, you aren't likely to get status/support votes from others and may even get status/oppose if you tick them off.

This has a lot of similarities in implementation to the minion code on Azarial's desk. The parts that aren't built are more 'what to do with minion code', and I think there's some good ideas here towards it, so I'll keep this post as a reminder of possibilities.
