I generally agree with Voxomo. Though I understand that in real life charisma and appearance might not be fundamentally equal to one another, they are definitely significantly linked according to every study out there.
That said, it's part of the stat having value, and removing this from the stat would decrease the intrinsic value of the stat - maybe not eliminate it entirely, but decrease it possibly more than I'm interested in seeing happen. As it is, choosing certain stats is a bit of a statement about how a player sees their character, be it a choice of high con, high int, high cha, etc.
Finally, I don't really care all that much, I just don't see a major value add here and would rather spend programming resources on new magic things, the several dozen specs we have lying around, etc.
Charisma, and Beauty
I don't equate "app" to attractiveness. I've always disliked the "stat," and I pretty much always advance the idea of "I like what I like, society be damned." I wouldn't shed a single tear if it were removed.
Besides, as far as "app" goes, someone like Kim Kardashian is App 5 in American society, and I wouldn't touch that with a burning post.
(See what I did there?)
On a more serious note, the fact that App exists but isn't modifiable sort of bugs me: in addition to simply having natural good looks, things like clothes, perfumes, and manners of speech all matter significantly in attractiveness. This is, again, another reason why I dislike the stat; but I'd hope that people take that into consideration and not simply read the little number. At the end of the day, an App 5 peasant is probably incredibly dirty and smelly. You'd want to hose her down first.
