A Noble Event, The Royal Council, will be held over this weekend,
cumulating with a vote to be held on issues 11pm, Feb 19th System Time.
The Nobles have requested immortal assistance to make this a game-wide
event, so we will be creating NPC characters for people to play. Also,
ICly, Guild Leaders and their chosen assistants (guild members) will be
welcome to participate in court throughout the weekend.

If you are participating, please contact an immortal asap. We will provide
you with a Quest Card. On the Quest Card will be a goal(s) and resources
your character can trade to achieve their goals. Anyone who achieves their
goal by the close of the event will receive the indicated quest points on
the card for the goal in question.

We require at minimum one NPC from each of the following courts:

The Duke/Duchess/Heir of Vavard
The Duke/Duchess/Heir of Tubor
The Charali Emissary

Additionally, each of these courts, once filled, may have an attache.

Please indicate your interest ASAP, and we'd be appreciative to those who
do not have a character that would normally attend taking on the above
roles for just the weekend. Those who participate as NPCs will receive QP
for this assistance.

I'm sorry, but if you have a PC member who would attend the Royal Council,
whereas you are eligible for a Quest Card, please attend as your PC.

Thank you!

Kinky This bump is a reminder that the Royal Council Quest is due to begin
sometime in the next 24 hours or so. If you have an NPC, please speak to
Temi and roll them up.

(Temi) We are hoping to have things ready to start tomorrow night. I will
get in touch with you if you have signed up to participate. Caria is
planning to introduce the main topic of discussion probably around 11:00
PM. If you cannot make this time, that is alright. The quest will be
fairly informally planned up until the vote. Just try to be around the
palace some to chat and deal with as many people as you can find the time
for between tomorrow night and Friday night. Feel free to let other folks
know times when you will be around during this time if you would like!

Thank you to all of you who are participating in the Royal Council
Quest! We hope that it should be a lot of fun for everyone involved, but I
understand that some explanation is needed.

All who are participating should receive (or already have received) a quest
ledger. The quest card is on the first page and has two main parts. The
first part is your resources, things that you have. You can keep them or
give them to others in your pursuit to meet your goals.

The goals is the second part on the card. These are based on what you told
me your character would want to achieve. If you meet the conditions for
the goal, you've met the goal and will get the QPs at the end. You can try
to meet all of the goals, if you want, but it will not be possible for
everyone to meet all of their goals, as some are contradictory. Also,
meeting one goal may make it harder to meet another. You will need to
think cleverly about how you will be most successful and what you care
about the most.

Everyone also has a primary motivation which is listed. This is the part
that says (Political items count for double.) or similar. This means that
any political items you have or obtain are more valuable to you than
economic or social items.

Now what do the points even mean or matter? They are just a measure of
value or amount of that item. If someone has 300 points of provisions and
someone else has 500 points of provisions, the second person has more
provisions. The points matter for your goals. If one of your goals needs
500 points of provisions, then if you add up the provisions you had and
acquire from others in trade, then you meet that goal. If you need 500
points total, all of your assets with points values get added in, including
double value for your area of primary interest. If your goals do not

[ Press (c)ontinue, (r)efresh, (b)ack, (q)uit or hit (h)elp ] (65% complete)

include a point total, then the points don't matter to you, but they may
still matter to the people you are trading with.

And what can you do with men? You can keep them in reserve, you can give
them to someone else to command, you can dedicate them to a task, you can
tell them to attack someone. Once you have dedicated them to doing any of
these things, you cannot do anything else with them. Some goals will
require certain numbers of men doing something or another. What happens
when you attack someone else? That dispute will be resolved later, but the
immediate effect is that you can't do anything else with those men, and
they can't do anything with an equal number of men, if they have it. If
you think you can get what you want through threats of attacking, I
recommend doing the threat stage first.

If you have questions, please let me know and I'll try to help out. As you
make trades, take notes on them in the other pages of the ledger, what you
gave, what you got, who with. We won't dictate what you can trade for what
or even that you have to trade anything. Also, feel free to split up
things as it makes sense. Splitting up provisions? Sure. A title? Not
so much.

I would like to thank all of those of you who participated in the Royal
Council! I think that it was a great success and most everyone had a lot
of fun. However, we've now had the vote and it's time to wrap things up.
NPCs should finish wrapping up their loose ends and prepare to return home.
Everyone should get their final dealing done, and write what you have given
and received in your quest ledger.

Please wrap up everything by the end of Sunday February 20th, System time.
At that point I will snag the ledgers off of everyone and make sure to add
up your QP rewards. Everyone who participated will garner a small reward,
and those who achieve their goals will get the amounts listed in them. If
you would like to further reward any of your fellow players for the great
RP, I fully encourage you to do so! If you would like to give QP to any of
the people playing the NPCs, I would be glad to facilitate the transfer
from you to their real account- just let me know.

I have also heard that people are interested in some system to make the
resource trading deals a regular part of RP. Obviously, the current system
wouldn't work on a long term basis, and so if you are interested in
something like this, please mosey on over to the forums to come up with
ideas, suggestions and comments. We will see if there is some system which
could be reasonably integrated which will add to the fun for everyone.

Additionally, if the people who played NPCs could please add remember notes
as to their dealings with each person, and desc notes about their dealings
in general, we would much appreciate it, so that the NPCs will be
consistent as needed again. We will thank you for the help with 5
additional QPs.

Thanks everyone and a job well done!

As the warring season winds to a close, some of those officers who had
fought in Daravi begin to make their back into Lithmore, bearing news of
its course with them. Hopeful words mix with stories that draw astoundment
and disbelief.

In an early battle, Mercenary General Sigrid Latago overtook the pass from
Farin and captured a Daravi fortress. Fondly called Camp Latago by her
men, the fort remains under command on behalf of the Duke of Farin until
such a time as its fate can be determined by Her Majesty the Queen.

On the other side of the Daravi protectorates, Earl Marshall Caria ab
Trenica was at first dispelled by Daravi forces, but went on to prove
herself in a second attack, which, this time, she won, gaining control of
an important river.

Admiral Amdair ab Lassider, with an assortment of other commanders, managed
to handily capture a Daravi port city, which was promptly renamed Queen's
Blessing in honor of Lithmore's beloved matriarch. However, in so doing,
they also gained the ire of the Sultan's forces and the final battles of
the season centered around the ownership of the city.

Daravi forces were called to surround Queen's Landing, even at the expense
of other locations. The Duke of Farin and his General, the Templar Paere
de Laerne, claimed an oasis fortress without a fight, holding it as well
for the glory of Lithmore.

And yet it is the Battle at Queen's Landing of which every tongue speaks.
Those who witnessed it claim a ferocious battle, including early losses by
the Lithmorrans, spurred to success once again by Lithmorran forces
emerging from hiding places within the coastal jungles.

However, the Sultan and his mages would not cede a victory to Lithmore.
After raining furious hailstorms down on her troops to great losses, it is
said that he ripped the city herself from the coast, sending her out to sea
and making of the Lithmorran holding of Queen's Landing an island.

Is this a victory? None can quite say. Losses are heavy on both sides,
and the Lithmorrans yet hold Queen's Landing, overseen by the Griffin of
Mozenk, but much of the strategic value is diminished. Adding fuel to
fire, some claim that the Sultan himself died in his sending the city
forth, though no body is found. The Daravi forces are chaotic and most
surmise that they will be in no position to attack again this season, but
the fell magicks employed serve to remind that they are not yet defeated
and this is a short reprieve at best. Even while they also underline the
great need to finish the work begun by these brave Lithmorrans.

The Lithmorran holdings are manned with trusted commanders stationed
overseeing them, even while other men and commanders are taking the last
opportunities of the season to return home to gather reinforcements for the
battles that will surely follow.
