On Decembris 10th, 370, an announcement from the Palace removed Caen Azazel
from his newly attained position as Seneschal, due to the recently discovered
information regarding open warrants against him for magery. The next steps
for the position of Seneschal are left undecided as various underlings start
scrambling to determine if provisions were put in place for such a situation.

In the face of rumors about an altercation at the Palace, the Holy Order of
Dav released the following statement:
"While ongoing warrants are typically kept secret, we can reveal that the
newly-chosen Seneschal Caen Azazel is indeed wanted for magery and did use
magic in public sight at the Palace. He is suspected to be one of the
culprits in the Magebane attacks, responsible for the death and maiming of
many innocent people. As such, he must be considered extremely dangerous and
willing to kill.
Caen Azazel is a young man who stands roughly six feet tall and has red,
curly hair and bright blue eyes; he is lean in build. If you witness a man
matching this description engaged in any suspicious activity, please do not
confront him, but be sure to send for the Knights Lithmorran. Please also
send a written report through the courier to His Holy Honor Toroni de
Stonewall, His Eminence Renton Feland, Lady Earl Marshall Ellette ab Mercia,
and Grand Master Ariel le Orban.
Note that, given his heinous and violent deeds, any willful concealment of
relevant information about Caen Azazel's whereabouts will be considered
heresy, and will result in a Review. We urge all good citizens of Lithmore
to volunteer anything they know at once, in order to prevent another terrible
tragedy from afflicting the people of our city."

Following the unfortunate removal of the previous Lord Seneschal, Magistrate
Hunapo le Marama was installed into the office of Seneschal on Decembris
24th, 370. The investiture was brief but well attended, though it was
noticeable that the man was still having difficulty standing for long periods
of time.
He spoke little to the few who showed up on the cold winter's morning but did
address the crowd briefly saying, "The crown in committed to helping the Holy
Order restore peace to the city. I also know of some illness that is
beginning to spread. These will be the first two priorities of this office
and I encourage all city leaders in supporting these goals for the greater
good. Strength in unity, unity in purpose." With that he retreated into town
hall, leaning heavily on his assistant.

It was just approaching Dawn on the 25th of Decembris when a cry of someone
or more specifically something being left tied to the stake in River Square.
Those who braved the morning chill to see what the commotion was about were
met by a gruesome sight indeed. The sight is explained to have been a
seriously mutilated and decaying corpse tied to the burning post. Many dare
not repeat the grotesque scene but those with a strong stomach mention the
scalp being severed from the corpse's head, left near its feet with the
brains that must've once belonged to the person placed on it along with a
note that read 'Alms for the poor' or something similar. A heart is said to
have been laying a pace away from the body as well, its place replaced the
scene of a mangled ribcage and a hole. Those that braved the stench of the
decaying corpse mention another piece of paper that only had the name of city
on it, which city? Lithmore.
There are further claims of this body or an unseen presence striking a
conversation with a young man who was sketching out the scene, the specifics
of the conversation are lost in telling and retelling the tale but talks of
insanity are mentioned.

In the early morning hours of Januarius 17, SC 371 a small, private ceremony
was conducted for the induction of Archbishop Renton ab Feland into the
office of his Holy Honor, the Grand Inquisitor of Lithmore. Upon the
ceremony's ending, his Holy Honor graced those attending with a few words.
"I come, not with burning words of flame and steel, but with calming words.
I wish only for the swift resolution of the problems now plauging the streets
of Lithmore, and I shall bend my will to seeing that resolution carried out
properly. I would request that all citizens who know something to come to
me, or to a member of the Clergy for confession. Those that do not will be
subject to Review, as is general procedure. That is all."
The speech was met with scattered applause, and his Holy Honor quickly
vacated the area, muttering something about paperwork.

The von Kapnner SC 371 Yule Dinner & Ball will be a feast to remember, but
not entirely for the right things. While the food was said to be of
particular liking, as was the wine and the dancing of the guests, plus the
celebration in itself, there was a single incident that has put the feast in
the mouth and ear of men and women in Lithmore.
The feast began with the sharing of gifts, and then newly-appointed Grand
Inquisitor Renton ab Feland made a speech. "Lords and Ladies, men and women
of Lithmore, I am here today to speak of what we all know has been occurring
in the ranks of the Order and in the city at large," it is said the speech
begun. His Holy Honor mourned the death of His Holy Honor Toroni de
Stonewall and His Eminence Benicio ab Masson, calling both of them martyrs of
the Order. He finished his speech saying that the Order would work
tirelessly to bring these mages to justice and promising he would bring these
mages to the pyre.
Then, Tacitus von Kapnner and Lady Asala de Naderi raised toast "To The Crown
and The Order!" Which was joined by the attendants. However, after the
patriotic speeches, Squire Dawn mal Renarde arrived to the feast and was
invited to the most important table of the host. When the host gave his wife
a ring with a bardic poem of love, the Squire suddenly broke into tears. One
way or the other, it escalated into her pushing the butler of the household
to the ground which dropped a platter of pastries on him. Others claim it
fell on Ambassadors. Others claim it fell on Tacitus von Kapnner itself. The
story might shift from mouth to mouth. "Mister von Kapnner should learn the
lesson, as Squire mal Renarde said: that is why you don't invite a bastard to
a ball," is said in the streets.
What is true is that there were negative comments from a group of Ambassadors
from Mozenk about the deficient service of the butler to men who fare from
the same lands of their master.

A representative from the Crown and Lithmorran Court delivered a speech
written by the Keeper of the Seal Emma ab Kovar this morning, addressing
crowds at the Palace and Church Square:
"To the peoples of Lithmore:
"Last night I received word from the Duke of Vavard: The natives on the March
of Jaridan have revolted. Military efforts to subdue the revolt thus far
have failed.
In the interests of preventing further loss of life to the colonists, the de
Roldan household, and the Vavardi soldiers who were sent in to pacify the
revolt, Her Majesty has ordered that the colony be abandoned. The March and
its requisite titles must be dissolved."
