Re: Use it or lose it
I am emphatically against this idea. Not only that, I don't think it should do that to combat skills either. However, as I tend to be a contrarian, if this is put in, please do us the favor of having a 'degrade timer' so we can see which skill and when they would degrade. Otherwise it'll be absolute...

Re: Event Scheduler
In all honesty, I'd just leave out IC time from the scheduler completely. Any time I schedule an event, or am invited to one, we always use Doodle or some other scheduling website and schedule things entirely with OOC time, and just check what IC date/time it is after the fact for making ic events o...

Re: Valuable Skills for the Quest System
As I said during the OOC chat, I've always thought that language skills had a high degree of usefulness. Here's a few scenarios I can envision: A scribe approaches you, asking you to translate a document written in (foreign language). You notice a (race 1) and (race 2) arguing in the corner, seeming...

Re: Daravi Border Weekend
I can't offer an opinion about the player led units, since I played a lead, but I can give a bit of feedback about a few things. 1. Medics - Medics were definitely incredibly strong, and I was able to almost entirely mitigate attacks even from overwhelming forces just by having enough medics. None o...

Re: Steal & Stealth
I feel as though steal should take into account how large an item is in its difficulty.
Stealing coins that people leave in their first line of inventory should be relatively easy.
Stealing Lans's greatsword... not so much.

Re: Leather Armour Effectiveness vs Animals
I agree that it's a little silly to have hunters in platemail, as plate is pretty noisy and makes it tough to sneak up on this. I know this from RL experience, funnily enough. However, I'm not sure if the solution is to buff leather armor protection values against animals; I would much rather nerf t...

Re: [Poll] Alternative to seeking?
Making those a requirement to get to an active rank is basically invalidating the whole point of removing the seeking system. If the seeking system is removed.. and then we say 'okay well all the things we usually did during seeking is now required to get to an active rank', then what was the point ...

Re: [Poll] Alternative to seeking?
What's lost? The entire seeking process where the seeker or GLs find each other, have a meeting, get to know each other, the seeker finds a sponsor (unless the guild membership is low enough to require 0), and have a formal induction. In other words... hours of introductory and character establishi...

Re: [Poll] Alternative to seeking?
I was personally inducted at a higher than starting rank on two different characters, and I have personally inducted people as a GL at a higher than normal rank twice as well. In none of those instances was I an OOC friend of the GL, or was the the inductee an OOC friend of mine. In fact, to this da...
