Re: Exile and its Implementation
I thought there was a processing queue for all exile requests, and that all such requests would have to be seriously considered by staff before being approved. I also thought exile was reserved for EXTREMELY rare cases, such as when a noble commits a serious crime -- in this case, they are sentenced...

Re: The Noble Play Experience
Aaaaand, another bit of advice for new players: See HELP PRESTIGE and request that the flag be added to an appropriate item (I recommend head slot, if you wear gloves) while in chargen. It's not super intuitive, the way 'He has a prestige item.' is printed under affects -- it doesn't tell you that y...

Re: Exile and its Implementation
I'm all for using exile as a thematic IC punishment in those ultra-rare cases where it makes sense, but I still think that abruptly dropping a player in an OOC room is going to feel like an OOC punishment -- and that we should be reserving that kind of thing for policy violations only.

Re: [Poll] Plot Staff
Something else to help improve the storyteller system, now that I've refreshed my memory on how it goes: The object list from which you can load items is terribly difficult to skim or read. It would be fantastic if we could view the list by category or simply load objects by keyword, instead of havi...

Re: Exile and its Implementation
At the time of the "enactment" it's entirely possible that the PC is already in hiding, in the wilderness or in an otherwise private/secret/secure area -- they might even be in the middle of a scene with someone they trust. So this would still feel REALLY inappropriate and unfair. That's why we can...

Re: [Poll] Plot Staff
And on that note, in order to make it easier to absorb all the scroll on login, I think it'd be great if our motd were more compact... right now it takes up something like 22 lines. Add that to news/updates, plot headers, and other notices, and it's no wonder we often get questions about where to vo...

Re: [Poll] Plot Staff
Something else that I've been thinking about lately, that is somewhat related to this topic: it'd be really great if we had an in-game calendar or event system, that notified folks logging in about upcoming events or that could be browsed at will. It would include all the usual Lithmorran holidays a...

Re: The Noble Play Experience
As for improving on existing systems, I'd really like to see the rest of the prestige system come into play. Moreso for the small extra bit of income (for the extra work) than for the bragging rights. Having money to DO things really makes a difference. Without it, there are fewer excuses to RP with...

Re: The Noble Play Experience
I think the greatest barrier to good noble RP is the thematic learning curve: understanding how nobles should (in general) behave, what to expect, how they can involve themselves, what they should reasonably know, etc. You put effort into an app and a character concept, but once you're on grid, it c...

Re: Exile and its Implementation
If we can remove the whole forced auto/RP-less off-grid transfer bit from this process, I think it will be a lot less offensive to me as a player.
