Since the early days of the Consolidation, Vees has been the domain of
house Jinosa, a reward to the families patriarch, Donald ab Jinosa for his
services in the military. It is because of those very services that he was
granted land on the border with Farin. The house seat of Schilde sits on
the southern border and when the armies of King Dav turned south, Schilde
and Castle Vees was one of the primary staging grounds. Though the war is
long since over, Schilde still houses a strong contingent of the Knights
Lithmorran, serving as an alternative training facility to the Capital.
It is not its past military service and placement that Vees is known for anymore. By contrast, nowadays Vees is known for the plentiful orchards and bee keeping that provides most of the profits to the Jinosa family and its people. Due to their southerly position within Lithmore, Vees often sees warmer weather, making its orchards a primary source of a number of the fruits that are enjoyed in the area. Schilde and the nearby village of Barin's Rest are the primary source of Vees' orchards. Likewise the honey produced in the county come from the northern village of Hargrove.
Until recent years it was Reginald ab Jinosa who was the Count of Vees, his eldest child Brandon was the heir. The second son, Siras ab Jinosa spent some time briefly in Lithmore before returning home to Vees to assist with financial issues born of two years of poor harvests. In time the situation was rectified and the family, long absent from the Lithmorran Court was set to make their return. However, on their way to Lithmore, just outside of Hargrove, the Count and his two eldest sons were beset by apparant bandits and were found dead sometime later. It was then that the mantle of the Count of Vees settled upon Tomas ab Jinosa who had been absent from much of the families business, serving in the Knights Lithmorran in the wars with the Daravi.
