Nestled between Awan Ride, Lyndale, and the very southern edge of the
lands Lithmore City itself claims, Savir is one of the borderlands -
neighboring Farin to the south. It is a rather small fief, mostly
comprised of open plains but rising into hilly territory to the east.
Being more southern than most of Lithmore, Savir enjoys temperate and
pleasant weather.
A large north-south road between Lithmore City and Farin runs through the barony, a major thoroughfare for trade; at its center is Savir City, a once-sleepy town transformed into a mercantile hub thanks to the road's location. Scuttlebutt says that it's a good place to purchase anything one might wish for, particularly goods most easily obtained in Farin - even including slaves. Castle Torem, the barony's seat, overlooks the road and the city proper from a nearby hill.
Savir is strongly influenced by its Farin neighbors to the south in culture, dress and customs. Farin clothing is often worn, although in heavier materials or paired with Lithmorran layering/cloaks for the colder weather. Many citizens of Savir speak both Farin and Lithmorran, and some even use a particular pidgin that melds the two indecipherably. Physically, the people are taller and darker than is common in Lithmore, due to intermarriage with their southern neighbors.
Savir has had a turbulent history of changing lords and ladies. Historically owned by House Risiz, it later passed into the hands of the Whirothol family. In 351, however, Bardane ab Whirothol was burned at the stake for heresy. With no clear heir in the wake of his execution, Savir was left in the hands of stewards and other intermediaries until late 353. The new King Tobin ab Samael, the first non-Harmon monarch, granted Savir to Ariel le Orban in return for services to the Crown.
