Gweran op Melthun was the premier bard of his time during the Consolidation of the Kingdom. He functioned as chief advisor, as well as dear friend, to King Dav. He helped to strategize the expansion efforts, using his considerable knowledge of the lands about, and their people that he had acquired in his earlier years as a journeyman Troubadour. It was only during his absence, the reason of which has been lost to time, that Dav suffered a defeat at the hands of the Vavardi.

Beyond his advisory to the King, he is best known for his efforts to Consolidate the people in truth, uniting the Troubadours of the conquered lands under the banner of one guild. Upon the formation of the official Troubadour's guild, he was dubbed Poet Laudate by the king for his laudable efforts in uniting the Kingdom of Lithmore. It was at this time he created the honorific Grand Bard of Tubor. Realizing that giving honor to those who excelled that were newer denizens of the kingdom, he appointed the Grand Bard of Tubor as the new Poet Knight and moving the man to Lithmore. Gweran made a point to introduce the Tubori Poet Knight in grand style, making much of his being the Grand Bard of Tubor, then the leader of troubadours in the Tubori isles. The move was a political success, linking the isles to the mainland, and ensuring the devotion of the islanders to the crown and newly named Poet Knight.
