We've narrowed the submissions for the Queen's coronation crown down just slightly, and here are now the top two entries. Place your vote for which you prefer. Names have not been included, to judge based on designs. I'll be closing the vote in a week. Now's your chance to be the voice of the queen, or at least a part of her wardrobe selection committee!

Option 1:

Code: Select all

a golden crown raising hawk and chalice against blue velvet

(ed desc: look crown)

A soft band of ermine cushions the heavy weight of this crown, lofty enough
that it might otherwise prove hard to bear. A central dome of blue velvet
rises above the ermine, a steady backdrop of saturated color deep as the
Kirulean sea. Elegant golden filigree adorns it, encasing a network of
shining gems: brilliant radiant-cut diamonds alternating with ocean-deep
round-cut sapphires, all set within curling spires of radiant metal.

But the true jewel of this crown is a massive star ruby, serving as the
center joint of a golden chalice that rises proudly at the crown's front; the
stone is dazzling in size and clarity, with its star a brilliant white in
direct light.

Above the chalice, perched proudly on its rim, a rampant golden hawk rises
with wings spread to the horizons. The feathers are depicted by marquise-cut
stones nestled close together, bleeding from deepest ruby to purest white
diamond at the tips. Brilliant sapphire eyes shine proud and direct from
each side of the noble raptor's beak.
Option 2:

Code: Select all

a sapphire Samael hawk diadem perched on woven gold strands

Finely woven strands of gold form the base of this elegant diadem. Care and
detail has gone into depicting each strand as a flowing vine, life given to
it in the leaves that decorate the individual branches. Sapphires and
diamonds decorate the base of the piece, but the true focal point is the
elaborately cut sapphire that rests on the brow. Set in gold, the sapphire
has been cut into the characteristic shape of the Samael hawk with its talons
gripping the strands of gold that rest just above the brow of the wearer.

"Care and detail has gone into depicting each strand as a flowing fine..."
Should that be "vine"?

That would be my guess! I'll edit.
