Don't confiscate the assets of people who go inactive

But why punish players who are active by hoarding good assets to people who may or may not ever return? Or reward them by letting them come back richer than everyone just by sitting inactive for so long?

Well that answered half of my questions.

It's not like you lose your assets after going inactive for one week. After the amount of time someone has to be inactive to lose their assets, it's unlikely they will be returning. I'm sorry, but with how assets are a limited stock, I'm not keen on it being something tied down by inactive players.
I think if they return and the asset hasn't been sold yet, then sure, there should be ways for said asset to be reclaimed, but otherwise, oh well.

I have to agree with Voxumo here as well. If someone returns and their assets are confiscated. They can still get a free roster asset to get silver coming in as long as they aren't a member of a guild. And if they are, they can ask the Guildleader for a loan or something to help them purchase a new asset to work with. But truthfully, if you've been gone long enough that you don't have assets anymore, you won't be in a guild anymore so you don't need a loan, just the roster asset.
