Hi all,

I hope this doesn't come across as too crass, but I thought I'd plug the monthly donation option on the website, and explain why I recently decided to set up a monthly donation for myself.

Given the number of ours I've put into this game (7,669 to date), I figured kicking in a few cents for every hour of enjoyment I get out of the game as a thank you would only be fair. The benefit I see from TI having a stead source of income is threefold:
  • it will help offset the costs of keeping the game up and running
  • It will provide some modest compensation to Az for all the time he puts into the game. <3
  • It will provide a source of funds to run ad campaigns to attract new players
I don't want to make anyone feel bad for *not* donating, just thought I'd put this out there.

Has anyone gotten the monthly recurring donation option to work? Whenever I check the box to make my donation monthly, it errors out during processing -- says something about it being a problem on Paypal's end and to try again in a couple of hours (I've been trying since Saturday with no luck). When I leave the box unchecked, my payment goes through.

I went to the paypal website to look for this option directly through their interface and couldn't find it. A disabled/removed feature, maybe? Or has someone gotten it to work?

You're making me wonder if I accidentally unticked the box. Any idea on how to tell if something is monthly in paypal?

On behalf of TI Staff, thank you for those who are setting this up.

*chuckle* That does seem to be a barrier, yes.
