Something like a big bucket of spilled sap should require extensive cleanup, or... whoops, those Farin dyed parquet floors are now ruined and gotta be replaced.
Yah there should definitely be a big downside. I'd think people having Looney Toons style traps in their houses aren't exactly the top tier in society though. Might be nice for people trying to guard valuables / their secret stash though.
Maybe not so great an idea.
From a magic side it would be nice if you could leave a magecraft trap that would mark someone in such a way that only you can see for an extended period of time.
