I'd like to see effects in Lithmore, but not bring the battle here.

I like the war where it is- off the grid and not directly affecting me.

War with the Daravi is stalled, but not gone and forgotten. Certainly not by them! We don't want to run another quest that draws people away from the RP in Lithmore, which leaves the question 'Do you want the war to come to you?' Please discuss!

I think it might be a good opportunity to put the fear back in mages, introduce new things that may be on the backburner or in development (new combat, new spells or whatever) so that the things people "know" about magic aren't definitive anymore, to make mages a real threat again, and prevent the war from being totally ignorable.

I would! However, I don't think 'randomly' selecting people to die by it would be a good idea, although it'd be realistic. It'd be great to have the individual option to do so though.

I definitely wouldn't want to inflict random death on players (NPCs may still feel free to fear my wrath), but I think that opening up use of die command for warring would be appropriate. This would still need to meet the usual imm-approval of course, no RP avoidance, etc, but if someone actually wants to RP dying in battle... well, who am I to take personal death and destruction away from them?
