Kinaed says, "Today's Agenda is:

- Staff Updates
- Player Heartbeat
- Player Topics

Is there anything anyone would like to add to the agenda to make certain we discuss it today? If you register a topic, please pre-write it so you're ready to present it when called upon."

Francesca declares, "I have a topic!"

Kinaed states, "I have an anonymously registered topic also. Got you, Francesca"

Nadir states, "Also have a topic"

Kinaed states to Nadir, "Got you. :)"

Elysaveta states, "Oh, wine. Nice."

Kinaed states, "Okay, if anyone else thinks of anything, please send me a tell. In the meantime, I'll kick off Staff Updates."

Kitty claims, "I don't have a topic, I have a... reminder? It can wait until the end."

Kinaed claims to Kitty, "I'll add you to the list regardless, thanks :)"

Kitty thumbs up.

Kinaed muses, "Okay, last week I logged in and did some recommends, reviewed a few things (but left application approvals to other staff). Still on my desk - Turf Wars. I haven't seen any responses to my update on the forums - has anyone actually looked at any of that?"

Kinaed questions, "The update was here: https://ti-legacy.com/forums/viewtopic. ... 8&start=10"

Sparkles says, "I asked some questions about it before but that might have been to an older forum post."

Kinaed nods at Sparkles.

Kinaed says, "Feel free to touch base with me after if my update on the forums doesn't answer your questions."

Satoshi says, "I dont usually look at the forums, ill try to check after i get home"

Kinaed smiles at Satoshi.

Kinaed says to Satoshi, "Thanks, feedback is appreciated."

Kinaed says, "Anyway, that's all for me at the moment. No pressing policy."

Kinaed states to Azarial, "You're up. :)"

Azarial states, "Just a few minor tweaks this week. RL has been hectic."

Kinaed says, "The changes that went into play - bards will no longer echo to the room when interacting with the rumor system the way everyone else does. A bug in notify was fixed, and some work was done on seals."

Sparkles claps.

Kinaed asks of Azarial, "I think that's everything - shall we move to Temi?"

Satoshi cheers! no more bard spam

Kinaed says to Temi, "You're up :)"

Temi says, "I've been working on the big plot stuff, working for now on getting to another point where we can put it more in the background again. And I did want to check in to see how people are feeling about the level of involvement"

Temi finishes abruptly, "And tiredness on the whole thing - for the civil war"

Satoshi states, "Big scale plots are hard for poor and non influential people to interact with but thats not really your fault"

Kuzco claims, "I think the level of background vs 'in-your-face'ness is appropiate."

Miripoix claims, "I'm having trouble following it, getting involved with it, and understanding how its significance should impact my roleplay."

Satoshi states, "I like getting the little updates like they are right now tho, feels appropriate for how far away the action is "

Kinaed nods at Miripoix.

ToffeeApples states, "I've been trying a little to point out that theres a civil war by protesting the tourney, but I don't know how effective I've been"

Civetta says, "There seems to be a lot less opportunities to impact this one as compared to previous similar conflicts."

Satoshi trails off, "Essentially Miri if you arent rich or a noble there...isnt a lot you can do "
Kinaed claims to Miripoix, "Right now, it's a bit like current/world events that people in Lithmore might ICly talk about, but it probably wouldn't affect their day to day."

Kinaed nods at Civetta.

Conrad states, "Curse my peasant status"

Temi says to Satoshi, "Not true at all. But if you aren't rich or a noble, you haven't been trying, I suppose."

Satoshi claims, "Its very far away and staff discouraged craft-spam so that was all i could think of"

Temi questions, "Which staff discouraged craft spam?"

Satoshi trails off, "Without removing mt character from play for x IRL days to go travel to be...useless"

Kinaed queries, "Craft spam?"

Satoshi says, "I was told not to spam craft rations to contribute to plots"

Conrad says, "I was worried because I have been making a lot of things"

Kinaed claims, "I'm not aware of anything, let's touch base after and give me a bit of a sense of how that convo went down, etc."

Temi states, "Well, I'm sorry if you got that impression from me, because I certainly didn't discourage it."

Kinaed nods at Conrad.

Kinaed says, "We generally don't bother about spam because our learning system, while learn by use, is still self-limiting."

Sparkles claims, "Protesting PC get togethers as a way to show plot impact can be ... hard because the war plot isn't something people are doing 24/7, and if anything I think we need more reasons for people to RP and meet one another."

Kinaed nods at Sparkles.

Kuzco says, "I was told not to encourage craft spamming on plots, yes."

Temi claims, "I did say we wouldn't just take silver contributions."

Nadir says, "Also it's hard to really immerse in 'oh no a civil war' when it has virtually 0 on grid impact"

Kinaed nods at Nadir.

Francesca claims to Temi, "When did you say that? Because that's all I contribute."

Satoshi says, "Either way thats all i could have done without leaving the grid since i have a specific skill set thats not useful not in person. im not actually upset that a single freeman cant affect a civil war lmao"

Temi states to Francesca, "Sorry - sending a bunch of silver to Amir."

Nadir states, "Which is fine, just means most people probably aren't going to mope around and avoid doing exciting things because the mood is supposed to be dour"

ToffeeApples claims, "I'm considering leaving the grid for it, but I don't know if now would be too late"

Miripoix says, "It sounds like if you've found a way to be connected to the advancements involved with the plots, it's a good balance of activity and background."

Kitty says, "I don't know. If your character would ICly protest something, I say go for it. But I wouldn't expect it to have a huge impact when it is something people have been... waiting for a long time. And when having get togethers and interactions is something that both ICly and OOCly, people want. The tourney offers something that's different from all of the traditional parties and merchant fairs."

Kuzco says, "Remember that witches can do witch stuff to affect Staff plots"

Miripoix muses, "So maybe there are ways to work out more hook opportunities for people who are interested?"

Satoshi says, "Reach out to the council wouod be my suggestion"

Kuzco claims, "I generally try to assign non GLs to some things"

Temi says, "Sorry for any misunderstanding. I said that we didn't want people to just pile money on Amir and call that done, but to actually interact further and if you wanted to use silver to make other things happen, or political action, or actual supplies to send, all of that would be fine."

Miripoix says, "Which can probably be handled by players with minimal additional staff work."

Kuzco states, "Like ninjas for recon missions, or low ranking reeves for escorts"

Francesca salutes Temi.

Satoshi clears his throat in sneak.

Wimpled says, "Need more ninjas."

Temi says, "And if you wanted to do an off-grid thing - the big battle coming up could be a time to do it. I'm going to try to bring that to a head when I process the plots on our regular biweekly thing on Monday"

Kuzco states, "We have enough ninjas. You just don't see them."

ToffeeApples claims, "Sign me up Temi"

Conrad claims, "Are you using the word ninja as a substitute for mage or am I missing something here"

Satoshi claims, "The early plot my GL talked about a recon mission for me but i was never Activated"

Kinaed states, "So... I think it may be worthwhile for us to do a forum poll to see whether the consensus that people want more interaction with the plot is true? We went with the 'far off' plot because that's what was asked for at the outset."

Kuzco states, "High sneak/hide pcs"

Sparkles says, "Do we have a timeline? As there's a lot of other events and stuffs it seems being planned."

Conrad states, "Oh"

Satoshi clears throat louder in sneak.

Kuzco nods.

Kinaed says, "It could just be the age old - not everyone sees or wants the same thing kind of deal."

Elysaveta says, "I'm also cool with ninja witches, sounds fun."

Temi claims, "Feel free to start a plot with what you want to do. They are free if you set them as type staff sponsored plot"

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Kuzco claims, "I remember a strong negative reaction to too much plotness 8 months ago"

Kinaed nods at Kuzco.

Kinaed claims, "We're experimenting to find the balance."

Temi states, "I'm going to resolve the battle early next week and hopefully get us to another quiet point that people can enjoy the planned events"

Kuzco states, "And yes I accetp volunteers for some things"

Kinaed says, "And I think that no matter what we do, some people won't enjoy it because people's tastes just differ from person to person."

Kinaed claims, "But it would be good for us to find the sweet spot that suits most people."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Civetta says, "Maybe just timing too."

Kinaed questions, "Are we okay if we move on to Erika?"

Kinaed nods at Civetta.

Kuzco nods.

Temi declares, "So... plots by Monday with what you want to do! Beyond the big plot, I'm also working on converting corpse rot to a normal disease"

Kinaed states to Temi, "Thanks for your efforts. It's a big job."

Temi nods at Kinaed.

Kinaed smiles.

Kinaed pontificates to Erika, "You're up!"

Erika states, "So I've been mostly working hard this week on the new webclient that I mentioned last week. Lots of work to do there but slowly making my way through. Short message but powerful."

Kitty queries, "Corpse Rot to a normal disease?"

Kinaed says to Kitty, "Corpse rot doesn't follow the disease pattern of the disease system because it predates in-game diseases."

Kitty says to Kinaed, "Ooooooh. Alrighty, nice."

Temi says, "Right now corpse rot is on the old system - instant full blown disease. Everything else has converted over to the three stage thing with progressing symptoms"

Kinaed claims to Kitty, "It hits fast, hard, and is pretty ... I dunno. It feels gamey and a bit annoying."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Kitty states, "It's the second you walk into the room with a corpse, yeah. No matter how big the room, whether or not you touch the corpse, etc."

Kinaed says, "Not that anyone wants a disease ever, but .. yeah, all other diseases in game, you catch and can treat through various stages, etc."

Kinaed nods at Kitty.

Satoshi claims, "It does seem like people rarely get sick anyways"

Kinaed claims, "It's getting an update to be in line with other diseases."

Kinaed nods at Satoshi.

Kuzco claims, "High Health"

Nadir says, "Not with health being so high"

Temi claims, "People get sick more often when health is low, yeah."

Conrad states, "I bet its because of the frequent bathing to keep appearance ratings up"

Kuzco nods.

Kuzco claims, "Like in reall ife"

Kinaed states to Satoshi, "That's because if you take care, and health is high, you probably won't get sick. But, don't wear your cloak hood down in the cold or rain, for example, if you want to avoid a flu."

Kinaed nods at Conrad.

Kitty claims, "When city metrics are low, people can get sick by simply... eating raw fruit. It's pretty bad ass."

Kinaed claims to Conrad, "That helps too"

Kinaed nods at Kitty.

Kuzco states, "I had that once"

Wimpled says, "Yep"

Kitty states, "And yeah, cloaks in the rain - wanna get sick? Stand out in it, cloak hood down for a good, long while."

Kinaed states to Erika, "Thanks for the work on the webclient - I'm super excited to see it in play and replacing MudPortal."

Kinaed claims, "Okay, I think that's everything for Staff Updates, and we have quite a full roster of topics today, so if we can move to Player Heartbeat, that'd be fantastic. "

Kinaed wonders, "In that vein, hey - how was the game for everyone this past week, folks?"

Satoshi states, "Yeah i had a scene in the rain and it took like 5 irl hours to get sick"

Kinaed smiles at Satoshi.

Satoshi claims, "And went away without treatment heh"

Satoshi pontificates, "RE rp its been nice! ive done many shenanigans!"

Kinaed smiles at Satoshi.

Kinaed declares, "Awesome to hear. We love shenanigans!"

Kinaed queries, "Anyone else? How was the game for you this week? :)"

Kuzco says, "I had been working hard on the Casterlay siege plot"

Francesca states, "It was a very frantic RP week for me trying to get my merchant RP wrapped up so my character can step down so that I can focus on having a baby IRL. I'm looking forward to things slowing down. But it wasn't bad. Just a lot of stuff to deal with."

Kinaed nods at Kuzco.

Kuzco says, "I'm glad people participated."

Kinaed smiles at Francesca.

Conrad states, "I progressed a lot but I find it hard to get rpxp since it seems like most players are gentry or nobles or are in their own private areas"

Kinaed says to Francesca, "We're going to miss you as a GL."

Kinaed nods at Conrad.

Kuzco states, "I need to step out more, but with my new job I can hardly play during the day"

Arlen says, "Just because they're gentry or nobles doesn't mean you can't interact with them. However, stepping into public, yes."

Francesca says to Kinaed, "I may be back in the GL ring at some point! Just first baby and all. No idea on time constraints yet."

Kinaed states to Conrad, "It's often best for new players looking for RP to target getting to know other new players in the game because of that."

Conrad claims, "...not that I can complain since I've spent hours sitting in a room coming up with descriptions"

Kinaed comforts Kuzco.

Satoshi states, "Yeah people have definitely been tucked away. im on a limited play schedule but j try to be out in public lately"

Kinaed nods at Arlen.

Francesca has been tucked away in merchant meetings.

Temi declaims to Francesca, "Better to step back before people are being neglected than after!"

Sebastianus wonders, "Kind of empty in the short time i've been around but i think its just me?"

Kinaed says, "It's fine to use notify and messengers to try to connect with people who are hidden away."

Francesca claims to Temi, "My thoughts exactly"

Kinaed says, "And it's fine to make up any reason you want to appear in a place that your character might not normally go just to find RP."

Miripoix pontificates, "I hope everything goes smoothly for you IRL, Francesca, and that you get lots of good rest!"

Satoshi says, "Newbies: try going to a guild and using the notify command to summon a guild member if thag guild"

Conrad claims, "Well yeah but my problem is more that outside of one or two individuals who I think might actually be NPCs, there isnt much reason for my character to want to contact the upper class"

Francesca states, "Thaaaaank you :)"

Conrad says, "Since im a peasant"

Sparkles says, "If you are a Merchant they are generally the ones with money to buy things."

Kinaed says to Sebastianus, "We have 20 players online at the moment, and most of them are in this room, but I do think our pbase tends to be healthy enough for most people to find RP."

Kinaed nods at Satoshi.

Satoshi states, "Peasant can talk to non peasant"

Azarial states, "Npcs show up as yellow/brown on look. players are cyan/light blue or white"

Kinaed nods at Azarial.

Elysaveta claims, "Sell them things, they have all the money, after all."

Sparkles states, "Also PCs aren't really 'peasants' that tends to be vNPCs."

Conrad says, "Well, freeman but you know what I mean"

Kinaed nods at Conrad.

Satoshi states, "Filthy freemen arent serfs but its a close thing"

Kuzco claims, "I always take in supplicants at my office."

Elysaveta says, "We don't let the serfs get out much."

Temi nods.

Kuzco states, "The bards are great for setting up connections."

Satoshi claims, "But yeah honestly if yoh type help character <name>"

Satoshi says, "Most people have RP hooks now"

Satoshi states, "Read those and you should be able to find an excuse to send a messenger"

Sparkles says, "I admit I thought about reaching out myself, but the hooks made me worried your character would resent it."

Conrad states, "If your talking to me go ahead because I LOOOOOOVE antagonistic things"

Kinaed claims to Conrad, "Like the others here, I'd recommend proactively making something up if you want RP. There's not really much help that can be had with the characters that brood in a corner or have no reason to talk to people... if they don't, then they're not going to find RP, and that's actually built into the character you made. "

Nadir claims, "You might want to note that somewhere, Conrad. Otherwise your helpfile gives the impression you just don't want to talk to people"

Miripoix says, "I'm playing a noble, and I feel other nobles have done a lovely job of being inclusive of all people lately. I'm still getting my feel for it all and finding the character's voice, but I know there are options in place that are supposed to help get past the mental block of 'My character wouldn't do X'."

Elysaveta says, "Poor introverts."

Kuzco states, "I like your girl."

Kinaed says, "I hope you don't take that personally, I'm sometimes bad with words - it's not you specifically, it's just that we have had some players make characters that don't want to interact, then complain when they don't get interaction. It's a trope that doesn't work well for a starter character."

Kuzco states, "Chastely."

Kuzco eyes Sparkles.

Kinaed says, "It definitely can work if you're willing, as the player behind the character, to be proactive about finding RP and interacting."

Conrad claims, "No I know exactly what you're talking about, I just didn't expect so much of the playerbase to be in the upper class. But I can pivot it into a different thing that I dont want to spoil so its no big deal"

Azarial nods at Elysaveta.

Satoshi claims, "Yeah outgoing characters get the most RP full stop"

Kinaed smiles at Conrad.
Temi nods at Conrad.

Nadir claims, "There's currently more freeman than any other social class"

Temi claims, "It varies from time to time, but a lot of people do love to be fancy folk."

Satoshi states, "You can interact with nobles, now, and hate them at the same time, mind"

Satoshi says, "But you need to make it clear the scene isnt going to be painful to be in for the other person"

Arlen says, "The rise in upper class is relatively recent, methinks."

Satoshi claims, "No one really enjoys playing with a super sourpuss that makes them regret reaching iut"

Kinaed states, "Yeah, we have about 50 percent gentry, 45 percent freemen, and 5 percent noble RP hours this last week"

Elysaveta says, "Certainly an uptick in nobles, with applications opening up."

Satoshi says, "Or makes their effort feels unwelcome or unwanted"

Arlen states, "With the exception of GLs, who are kinda upper class automatically, whether they want to be or not."

Kinaed says, "So there's a lot of freemen RP happening too - not sure where they're hanging out though. Probably not North Lithmore."

Satoshi claims, "I hang out in the woods and the park mostly"

Arlen states, "I've seen the Stardust active this week. The Warren, other places."

Satoshi states, "Or the theatre"

Kinaed nods at Satoshi.

Satoshi states, "Mostly go south when theres someone already there"

Sparkles claims, "You can also go to a Guildhall and notify."

Satoshi says, "But ivd been in scenes p much my whole olaytime this week"

Kinaed states to Conrad, "Thanks for being willing to put yourself out there with your struggles as a new player. It's appreciated."

ToffeeApples states, "I find being a Freeman Knight (or reeve) restricting, but I've been trying to integrate that into the my characters struggles"

Kinaed nods at ToffeeApples.

Sebastianus says, "I feel on the problem , i hope it wont be too hard for me i'm a bit of an awkward person and new to roleplaying so it'll be a bit of a challenge i think"

Kinaed states, "Just due to time, do we mind if we move to Player Topics? We've got 4 registered, and I'm worried we won't get through them all."

Kinaed smiles at Sebastianus.

Miripoix states, "Please stick with it and keep open with your ooc communication. :)"

Sparkles nods.

Kinaed claims to Sebastianus, "I hope you find the pbase supportive of your new endeavor. :)"

Kinaed muses, "Okay, the first topic I had registered was: Someone who wanted to remain anonymous wants to know if the Brotherhood is facing extra challenges recently. They'd like to hear some perspective from recent former members or active members, because it seems like there've been a string of unsuccessful attempts to lead the covert guild and to get the ball moving. Is the risk of being in the Brotherhood unappealing? Are covert skills not being taught as essential parts of guild membership? Are they considered essential at all? Have the changes that prevent dual guilding for coverts been beneficial or a hindrance? Is there anything at all that can be considered to help the Brotherhood find life again?"

Kuzco claims, "Thieves are like witches, once discovered they are in moderately big trouble. What they need to do is be more clever, more careful, and start small on their operations."

Zoot_Suit wonders, "That might be hard to get an answer from if people don't want to give out that they are or were recent BCG members?"

Satoshi states, "Its too obvious when youre a part of it, and the inactive members mean you have to grind everything up"

Arlen claims, "Speaking as an... unrelated and outside party, I think the fact that they couldn't dual guild would be a problem."

Kinaed claims, "For the record - there had been a really good Brotherhood GL in the role, but they'd been pretty inactive for a long period, just barely meeting the 1 hour per week mark (enough to stay out of trouble), but last week due to the prolonged inactivity (and thus the guild's inactivity), I saw some players OOCly reach out to the Tenebrae and knew they wouldn't get a response, so we opened apps."

Zoot_Suit states, "I could opine as an old-as-dirt former thief but that may not be as relevant."

Temi says, "Well, people can share why they aren't brotherhood members at least."

Temi grins.

Kinaed says, "As a result, we have apped in a new Tenebrae, and hopefully some active, interested leadership will improve that situation."

Arlen says, "With Kuzco's statement... mages can join guilds. Thieves cannot join other guilds."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Satoshi says, "I actually considefed switching guilds to take the position but was told staff wouldnt support hiding the ooc change"

Satoshi states, "And i didnt want everyone to know the instant they typed guildlist"

Kuzco states, "Yeah I'm not a big fan of how easily people deduce that no guild + freeman = thief"

Conrad queries, "Is there a reason why brotherhood members can't join other guilds? I mean it's covert so I assume they would be discrete about it like mages are"

Kuzco says, "Mages aren't a guild"

Kuzco says, "Just a disease"

Kuzco nods.

Kinaed states, "Hmm. I don't think staff would be against helping to hide an OOC shift like that, but it may be the specific way that was requested we weren't in favor of. For example, we can't really change the code that backs how guildlist displays just for one person's case."

Kinaed states, "(Not that I know whatever the issue was)"

Azarial claims, "It;s a one guild per character limit."

Satoshi states, "It was just players advising against it from previous similar requests, for that reason"

Kinaed says, "Ahh, the dual guilding thing. Yeah, that's also a nope."

Kinaed claims, "Ahh."

Kinaed nods at Satoshi.

Satoshi states, "I decided that having everyone treat my character differebt when nothing ICly changed wasnt worth it"

ToffeeApples states, "I think brotherhood should get a pass on dual guilding. "

Kuzco says, "Training guild skills is also kinda hard"

Satoshi claims, "I agree that the bhood should have the option--no organized criminal is JUST a thief"

Francesca gives Kuzco side eye.

Kuzco claims, "I mean bhood gskills"

Temi says, "Part of the reason for dual guilding being removed was messy code that caused a lot of problems"

Kinaed says, "Despite that, this has been debated extensively and staff have experienced the game with both dual guilding and without - and at this point in time, we are not allowing dual guilding."

Kuzco says, "Something to be remembered though: gentries and nobles can be thieves too"

Zoot_Suit queries, "Could the new roles system support it, maybe?"

Temi claims, "Potentially through a new set of code, which would need to be created"

Miripoix changes goal to Become a Robber Baron.

Kinaed says, "From an anonymous source on this topic: "there has been the issue that Guild skills aren't taught because of low GL activity. The cloak and dagger nature of things often at times can mean members hide from one another as much as authorities so getting together people for RP has been historically difficult.""

Kuzco claims, "Masks and aliases."

Kuzco claims, "I'll make a thief alt and cause a reign of terror. Someday."

Zoot_Suit says, "Anything involving covert and tradtionally criminal activity is difficult IMO, based on experience."

Satoshi trails off, "It might be worth it to code it for thieves... also the bhood didnt always have a "hide from everyone else" policy"

Conrad states, "But how would you make those masks and alias's known to others bu tnot the authorities is the problem"

Kinaed states, "In a world without tells, the previous Tenebrae did complain that it was hard to get people together, etc, precisely because of the secrecy - and staff view the secrecy among members as self-imposed."

Temi claims, "I do think the brotherhood has been healthier when they were more of a family, known to one another and strongly interacting"

Arlen claims, "Ok, so, idea."

Temi states, "At least happier."

Kinaed states, "As opposed to something that needs to be fixed from the code level, all of that is easily solved just by the Brotherhood choosing to trust each other and working together that way."

Zoot_Suit says, "I think there are a handful of approved changes on the docket, even? But it's not fair to set deadlines on any of that for staff."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Arlen claims, "Guildchannels were taken out for everyone. But, for the Brotherhood, maybe it should be reinstated? I imagine their names, like the mage channel, are gone, so it's not like they can pick out who each other are from that alone."

Conrad says, "I kind of have an idea regarding this based on something from a different game"

Kinaed states, "No guild channels is another area that Staff aren't willing to change our stance on for the moment. As it was, we saw the guild channels in use because we watched them, and we're well aware that almost 100 percent of anything ever coordinated on a guild channel could and should have been coordinated ICly."

Conrad states, "But I'm a noob so maybe I'm completely wrong but; what if brotherhood members had a hand gesture or some sort that was automatically recognized by other brotherhood members, or non-BH members if they pass a skill check of some kind"

Temi states, "Well, to be fair... it's on the docket for us to discuss."

Kinaed states, "From our anonymous source: "There have been some player decisions that have made it hard to trust one another, but that's something people need to work on. But also the GLs not wanting to do everything themselves."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Kinaed states to Conrad, "ICly, they have a whole language called tcant they can use. :)"

Elysaveta claims, "Thieves can use thieves cant with each other, though that's a skill to learn too."

Kinaed nods at Elysaveta.

Satoshi queries, "I thought tcant was guild only?"

Satoshi queries, "Leave the guild you lose it?"

Kinaed states, "It won't work if you're not in the guild; not sure if you lose the skill off the character per-se."

Kuzco questions, "Is it a skill or a command?"

Kinaed claims, "With 15 minutes left, I'd like to get to some other player topics - I'd like to invite anyone who wants to engage on this topic further to touch base with me outside of OOC Chat. :)"

Kinaed says to Kuzco, "Both."

Kuzco nods.

Zoot_Suit says, "FWIW, my direct answers to the questions: I feel the risk vs. reward is unappealing in the BCG. I don't think I ever played a character with the skills started at 0 so I'm not sure how rough LBU is but I can imagine it's not that easy! I do think the lack of dual-guilding hurts the efficacy of thieves guild RP and usual goals but maybe changing the way the guild is set up could get past that."

Kinaed says to Francesca, "Your topic :)"

Kinaed nods at Zoot_Suit.

Francesca says, "Apologies to non-crafters because this is a specific crafting problem. And wall of text incoming. But this is a problem I encountered today. I bug boarded it, but I'd still like to bring it up now because this problem is holding up RP."

Francesca claims, "I ran into a problem with Tailor 943 (full women's set in silk) earlier today which I initially thought to be a rather obnoxious bug, but after posting my bug board and further appraising the components involved, I'm assuming this is a known problem with these recipes, but would like confirmation on this before I make further assumptions. Essentially, this recipe calls for a bolt of silk, 1x of ANY trim, and 1x of a specific trim. When doing the recipe earlier, I got to the end and had a failure because of missing components. My first inclination was that this was a bug as I had all the components. After further snooping, I realized, of course, the very specific trim required for the end bears the generic concept of trim. So if the code eats it for the middle, then it won't exist for the end part of the thread and the recipe will fail, resulting in a loss of very expensive materials."

Francesca says, "Is this a known bug with the tailoring recipes for full outfits? If so, would it be possible for me politely request two things here for staff consideration: the first, that all recipes for full outfits be updated with big red warning text telling tailors that they need to stack their mats in a certain way so that the code takes them in the right order? And secondly, could I please get back the bolt of silk I lost figuring this problem out? Final question in regards to this: does code look to the inventory or the room first for mats? Because I don't want to accidentally have duplicates hanging out in one of those places and mess up the thread next time."

Temi says, "It's been reported before and I think it was on Az's docket, but I don't know if we think it got fixed"

Naomi claims, "I had that issue with wool full sets, which I bug reported."

Kinaed claims, "I'll bump it in Az's queue"

Satoshi states, "I had that issue on old tailor too"

Satoshi states, "It was like workaround fixed iirc"

Arlen claims, "Possible work-around (though not perfect) - hold the non-specific one in your inventory so it is used first, and then it'll go to the floor if you don't have it in your inventory."

Francesca queries, "Will stacking the components in a different order fix the problem? Like silk, any trim that isn't specific trim, specific trim?"

Arlen states, "That way it won't eat the wrong one first."

Kinaed states, "After OOC Chat, Francesca, pleas see a staff member, we'll give you back your ingredients for that incident you walked blindly into. "

Francesca salutes.

Francesca declares, "Thanks, Kin!"

Camellia says, "You guys are so awesome."

Kinaed states to Francesca, "After that, please be aware of the bug. We're on it, but we can't reimburse everyone who walks into it, especially if they know about it."

Kinaed smiles at Camellia.

Francesca states, "I still think it'd be good to have a warning somewhere since this is known."

Kinaed nods at Francesca.

Kinaed states, "Good idea, we'll also update a help file or something. Maybe the recipe itself - until fixed."

Zoot_Suit claims, "Maybe a general board note? I think that's the method of alert now."

Naomi says, "That would be good, I didn't know about it either"

Francesca says, "I think all the recipes should have a warning attached. All the full set recipes at least."

Kinaed nods at Zoot_Suit.

Kinaed states, "Anyone who has reported this bug independently, we'll give you the one-time refund. Just bump your bugboard note."

Francesca says, "Unless this is something that will be fixed fairly quick and then a gen board would probably be fine. We just have a lot of bebe merchants flooding in and I can't war nthem all."

Temi claims, "We could just remove the trim generic from the cording, I think."

Kinaed nods at Francesca.

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Temi says, "Which is unfortunate, but should still work."

Kinaed states to Temi, "That might be a good idea."

Naomi says, "Thank you"

MAMI waves hello.

Conrad says, "I don't know if blacksmithing has this problem but I haven't encountered any problems using the full iron chainmail suit recipe"

Kinaed says, "Okay, moving to the next person with a topic - sorry to cut anyone off... just running out of time."

Miripoix states, "I really do love the special bits in recipes."

Kinaed asks of Nadir, "Would you mind introducing us to your topic?"

Nadir declaims, "My topic is more of a reminder. Soooo, reminder for council/noble types that there'll be an event on Thursday Jan. 30th at 5pm server for some social/project related fun!"

Kinaed smiles.

Francesca claps.

Kinaed claims to Nadir, "Thanks :)"

Kinaed queries to Kitty, "Okay, you're up! Care to introduce us to your topic?"

Miripoix pontificates, "Yes! And if you happen to know players who have nobles who maybe haven't been around lately, please nudge them to let them know about it too!"

Kinaed smiles at Miripoix.

Kinaed states to Miripoix, "Good idea."

Temi says, "Maybe try some different time frames for things too."

Nadir declaims, "I included all the recent inactive nobles as well, so they'll have the invitations if they log in!"

Kinaed nods at Nadir.

Kinaed smiles.

Temi says, "I know some have had issues with the 'during the weekdays' stuff."

Satoshi exclaims, "Yay for active nobles!"

Kitty pontificates, "Sorry!"

Miripoix nods.

Nadir states to Temi, "Yeah, weekends are sort of taken right now."

Kitty claims, "I just wanted to remind about the tournament signups. Neeeeeeed people for the joust."

Satoshi pouts that he cant crash the party because WORK

Wimpled claims, "I'm happy to help test joust."

Conrad trails off, "I have no skill in riding so....sorry"

Civetta states, "I need some people to joust, pretty please."

Kinaed exclaims, "There were some new help files for the joust. If you want to joust, please sign up ICly!"

Francesca pontificates, "Yeah, reminder on the tournament: all participants will be getting paid. Some come get beaten up and earn some easy money!"

Kitty says, "I don't know what's needed, currently. I asked the staff what is needed for the code, but haven't gotten a reply yet. I do want to test it *before* the tournament."

Sparkles says, "Even if your character might not do the best, it can be fun."

Francesca states, "SO COME, not some come. Herp derp. Words."

Wimpled muses, "Looks like ride and polearm?"

Miripoix states, "I admit the joust help file still confuses me. I don't know about signing up for IC reasons but I can possibly help with testing ahead of time."

Kinaed claims to Kitty, "I wish I could help you - I think that's firmly in Niamh's space. Have you written her a pboard? If not, please do and CC me."

Kinaed nods at Miripoix.

Temi states, "I'm afraid I have little idea how it works, yeah"

Kinaed states, "What confuses you about the help file? If we need to fix that, we can help."

Kitty claims, "I just barely put in the request board today, so it's not that anyone has been ignoring me."

Kinaed nods at Kitty.

Kinaed claims to Kitty, "Oh, good :)"

Wimpled claims, "If someone wants to give it a try in the arena, willing to give it a go."

Kinaed states, "Please let us know if we need to clarify anything in the help file."

Kitty states, "Yeah, yeah. We have another week before anything kicks off, and I can make the joust whichever weekend, so... we're good."

Kitty says, "YES! We have some volunteers to help test it. I'm excited for that, just to see how it works."

Kinaed claims, "Also, getting together ICly to practice and test the code prior to the tournament is probably both a great IC opportunity as well as an OOC one."

Kinaed trails off, "We have one more topic..."

Kinaed states, "And only a few minutes."

Kitty just wants to make sure it works so any bugs can be reported ahead of time.

Kinaed queries to Sparkles, "Would you like to raise your topic?"

Kinaed nods at Kitty.

Miripoix questions, "Is it like normal combat emoting? Am I supposed to describe tilting and then code will tell me if I poked the opponent with my stick effectively?"

Kuzco claims, "I'll fite anybody"

Kitty says, "Not sure yet. I want to see how the pokey pokey works, though."

Sparkles says, "So speaking of noble folks, there's also IC mail going around about this, but as a general pre-announcement, I'm working things up ICly towards an ST that will be public, but just inviting people into the oppurtunity to help with the build up. So if you are one of the folks who get said letter, do write back, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming circus."

Kinaed claims to Miripoix, "Thanks - I'll ask Niamh to update the help file to explain the answer to that."

Wimpled states, "You and me, Kuzco. "

Wimpled throws a glove at kuzco.

Conrad queries, "ST?"

Kinaed smiles at Sparkles.

Kinaed says to Conrad, "Players can 'dungeon master' stories on TI. We call them 'STs' short for Stories."

Conrad states, "Oh alright then"

Miripoix stops using a tri-clawed gold filigree gauntlet studded in tiger's eyes.

Miripoix offers a proper gauntlet to Wimpled!

Arlen questions, "At least she didn't bite her thumb at him?"

Kinaed states, "Sparkles has a story she's prepping and is reminding people to participate/respond."

Kinaed exclaims, "Okay - thank you for coming to this week's OOC Chat!"

Wimpled says, "Thank you, Miri."

Wimpled says, "Gauntlet in your face, Kuz."

Miripoix declaims, "That sounds great, Sparkles, thank you for the alert!"

Kinaed pontificates, "We appreciate the feedback and look forward to seeing everyone next week. I'm putting everyone back where I found them in just a moment, so brace yourself! :)"
