Kinaed claims, "Today's Agenda is:

- Staff Updates
- Player Heartbeat
- Player Topics

Is there anything anyone would like to add to the agenda to make certain we discuss it today? If you register a topic, please pre-write it so you're ready to present it when called upon."

Karal states, "I should set up logging but I do not have it set up this time, so."

ToffeeApples claims, "Its a shame Agatha and Selemy aren't here to see the pastry"

Kinaed finishes abruptly to Karal, "No worries - next time, maybe :)"

Kinaed wonders to ToffeeApples, "You can save it and show it to them?"

Kinaed wonders, "Anyone want to register a topic?"

ToffeeApples states, "Hard to fit in ICly, but I might sneak an OOC display in a scene it I catch them"

Kinaed claims, "I'll take the extended silence as a 'no'. If anyone thinks of a topic, send me a tell. Otherwise, let's kick off Staff Updates."

Kuzco says, "I'm good today."

ToffeeApples is drawing a blank

Kinaed says, "I handled a very small handful of Player Requests this week and reviewed boards, but didn't do very much productive. Still working on Turf Wars as my primary focus."

Kinaed questions, "That's it for me. Hello Az - got a quick update for us?"

Azarial claims, "I've managed a tweak to crafting and matchmaker pairing; it;s been a slow week on the code front."

Kinaed declares, "Much appreciated!"

Kinaed claims, "In specific, matchmaking code should no longer pair people while they are *in* RP, and if you're successfully paired with someone, you should not 'roll' them again for a period of time after you succeed the quest."

ToffeeApples cheers!

Temi says, "I know that's something that has irritated people a few times."
Temi grins.

Kinaed claims, "I think there was an adjustment to when public magic will trigger crime alerts, so be on the lookout for that and consider using autowarn until you feel comfortable that you know when casting will trigger (in public areas)"

Preposterous says, "I actually was paired with someone, RP'd with them for an hour and a half, but somehow didn't earn the point. Maybe our pace was too slow to get the 300 rpxp, I didn't check score beforehand to be able to see, so I wasn't able to check."

Kinaed states, "Notify briefly is a thing, if that hasn't been announced yet."

Kinaed nods at preposterous.

ToffeeApples cheers!

Kinaed says, "I think other people are earning the QP, so I'm not certain what the deal is there, but I don't think it's broken - yet. If you experience that a few times, please let me know."

Kalana claims, "I've definitely earned QP, and I don't think it was always a super long scene, but sometimes it's been big groups"
Kinaed nods at Kalana.

Karal claims, "I've gotten QP from it."

Kinaed says, "You need to hit 300 RPxp in the allotted time, so that means reading HELP RPXP and making sure your RP level is as high as possible, using things like: moods, think, public rooms, actions, hemotes, etc."

Karal claims, "Less convinced I should ever accept Pvent stuff though I feel like it's going to get me into serious trouble one day. Unless it's acceptable to just accept it and not do the thing it tells you to do."

Kinaed says, "I think some people may RP more naturally towards the higher end by incorporating more options, and some players just do the basic emotes because they're not exposed to the options."

Sparkles states, "Don't forget having a recent cnote too."

Kinaed nods at Sparkles.

Kinaed claims to Karal, "No one is watching pvents, so you cna accept and not use it. They're there to help YOU"

Kinaed says, "If it stimulates RP, we're not going to freak out because you didn't RP that your character had a dream about mine. :)"

Temi says to Karal, "They are intended as a way to spur on rpxp, and a prompt to help you with it. If it ends up not working the way you thought, shifting that is fine."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Karal states, "Okay! Then that's good, because I was worried I'd get myself in trouble with them."
Kinaed smiles.

Preposterous states, "I have gotten QP before - that one was a single experience, as far as I understand. If it happens again, I'll let you know."
Kinaed nods at preposterous.

Temi states, "I wouldn't encourage people accepting them with the inclination "I'm never going to do anything like that", but sometimes other stuff comes up, and we're definitely not auditing it."

Kinaed claims to preposterous, "Thank you, I'd like to know how it's going."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Kinaed wonders, "Okay, so I think that's everything for Az. Temi, do you want to update us?"

Karal queries, "How do most of the people in here have the special names, anyways? How's that work?"

Satoshi states, "I typically think about pvents if nothing else, that way mages can fet some juicy thoughts "

Kinaed wonders to Karal, "I'm not certain I understand the question. What special names?"

Temi says, "Sure. I've just been doing plots, recommends, etc, and had Amir in last week for a special council event."
Kinaed smiles.

Temi claims, "I did want to apologize for a the pause in getting some more updates out in the overall political situation - I'll try to do something new today or tomorrow for that, and open up a new header."

Kinaed says, "Big thanks to staff for their work this week. :)"

Temi declares, "But we've had some timing issues on coordinating it, so sorry!"

Galax says, "I think Karal is talking about the pretty colored OOC names"

Temi claims, "Ah, yes, title OOC"

Kinaed says, "Oh, the ones in this room? It's 'title ooc <name>' combined with color codes in HELP COLOR."

Preposterous preens.

Temi claims, "It's also what will show up in OOC channel"

ToffeeApples states, "The name used in here is the same name used on the OOC channel"

Kinaed claims, "That name will show up in OOC areas, and on the OOC Channel"

Kinaed nods at ToffeeApples.

ToffeeApples claims, "title ooc i think is the command you need."

Kinaed muses, "If that's everything for Staff Updates, shall we move on to Player Heartbeat? How was the game this week, folks?"

Gattara states, "It was a busy week."

Gattara pontificates, "So, good!"

Tasker declaims, "Getting back into the swing of things, had a few awesome scenes this week. Especially the Gala that was thrown, that was really good. Props to the player who threw it!"

Satoshi states, "Ive been super busy and not feeling so well this week so less and less time to play but what i had was fun, if brief"

Kinaed states to Gattara, "That's great to hear. Fun busy, sounds like."

Galax says, "Things definitely felt active, and the party was fun"

Kinaed claims, "Who threw the Gala? I'll award them."

ToffeeApples says, "Selemy and Agatha"

Gattara states, "Yeah, fun busy."

Kalana states, "Things have been a little awkward for me with catching people, but I know that's partly my fault"

Gattara states, "And yes, the gala was pretty great."

Sparkles states, "Gala was fun, glad people enjoyed it."

ToffeeApples , pushes Tasker so they have more momentum

Kinaed states, "I've awarded them both, thank you."

Vittore says, "It has been fun this week for me too. My character has had some fun RP."

Kinaed says, "Also, appreciation for people who ATTEND things like galas when people throw them."

Kinaed smiles at Vittore.

Kinaed says to Vittore, "That's great to hear."

ToffeeApples claims, "If you appreciate something like the Gala, you can also use the RECOMEND the players too"

Kinaed muses, "Is there anything shitting anyone that they want staff to know about?"

Kinaed nods at ToffeeApples.

Vittore exclaims, "Even though I didn't get to really be there for the Gala it was fun, plus...SNAKES! :P"

Kinaed says, "Yes, if you appreciate what another player has done to give you (or a bunch of people) fun RP, please do recommend them using the Recommend commands."

Preposterous states, "Recommend is GREAT for death xp."

Preposterous coughs.

Satoshi is reminded he hasnt done a batch of recommends for a few weeks

Kinaed nods at preposterous.

Kinaed comforts Satoshi.

Kinaed claims to Satoshi, "No time like the present :)"

Kinaed muses, "No concerns for consideration this week?"

Vittore should probably recommend some people too.

Kinaed questions, "Any improvements people would like to see?"

ToffeeApples claims, "I have a minor niggle"

Kinaed states to ToffeeApples, "Sure, please tell us :)"

Kinaed muses to ToffeeApples, "Have you lost link, or still typing?"

ToffeeApples muses, "I've mostly adapted to the loss of tells. There is one scenario where notify/page/etc. isn't a good substitute. It's when a character follows another character, and for some reason, maybe they accidentally hit a direction, or forgot to light a candle, or ran out of MV etc, that you two get split up. It can be difficult to reconnect with the other player if you're unaware of which rooms one got stuck in. I don't know how to resolve that, maybe some sort of additional intergroup command?"

Kinaed nods at ToffeeApples.

Kinaed questions, "I think people are using pboards for rare occasions like that. Other players have a solution?"

Satoshi states, "I think maybe a little bit more consideration on the leader's part wouldnt hurt that situation either"

Satoshi claims, "But a page and a pboard do wonders"

Kinaed muses, "... yell "Marco!" "Polo!"? *cough*"

Preposterous has used pboard. "I think the title ended up being 'You're killin' me, Smalls', because they kept running out of movement."

ToffeeApples says, "I've been pboarded in similar situations, but I never notice until way after the fact. I think I have the command on to get pinged by a pboard now, but it hasn't happened recently."

Satoshi says, "Like when im not injured my character walks super fast and i choose shorter goals to not leave people ehind aith travel"

Kinaed nods at Satoshi.

Satoshi questions, "ping them?"

Sparkles wonders, "Could pboards perhaps notify when they are written?"

Galax muses, "Some characters can walk faster than other characters?"

Kinaed claims, "Page, notify, pboard alerts"
Kinaed nods at galax.

Kinaed claims to galax, "Based on dexterity, I think."

Temi finishes abruptly, "Boards do notify when they post - but there's a setting for it"

Preposterous says, "... my pboards DO notify me when they are written."

Kuzco states, "I always get notified when pboards."

Galax states, "I have attained a new level of enlightenment."

Satoshi says, "Pboards notify on by default"

ToffeeApples says, "Yeah I used to have it off, I fixed it, but so far hasn't had this issue since I toggled it"

Satoshi states, "And yeah dex affects walking speed"

Kinaed states, "I wonder if we should just make walking while in a group a specific pace that is the same for all (while grouped only) to help a bit with this (won't solve the whole problem)"

Satoshi states, "I think that defeats the purpose of having dex affect speed"

Preposterous states, "Or have everyone in the group automatically adjust to the leader's pace, if grouped."

ToffeeApples queries, "Or maybe not allow the leader to move 2 rooms away from other following members, so a scan should locate them?"

Sparkles claims, "I think that sounds like the best solution."

Satoshi states, "And if someone is following you without you knowing or your permission it could be used to grief"

Tasker says, "That's a good way to get people exhausted though if they're wearing different levels of armour, Preposterous."

Kinaed claims, "Dex affecting speed is important when you're running from the cops, but less important when you're walking companionably with people you've grouped, I'd think. Also, nothing says we cannot take the highest dex speed of the group."

Preposterous states, "That's why I said 'only if grouped'."

Satoshi claims, "Someone running too fast so you pop follow"

Galax claims, "I'd rather it be linked to a manual accept like grouping rather than just follow being on someone"

Tasker states, "I've been followed before by invisible people, which lead to a funny situation where they all slammed into a door when I went inside somewhere and locked it because I saw one of them sneezing."

Kuzco states, "Then thieves would run away from a crime scene at the speed of the fastest of 'em"

Preposterous says, "Sure, Tasker, but... rations."

Kuzco claims, "Lol Tasker"

Satoshi claims, "I think maybe just be more considerate of who is following you"

Satoshi states, "Good map awareness and its not a problem"

Tasker states, "But you can set yourself as 'nofollow' if you don't want anyone to code follow you. "

Preposterous states, "Shorter hops."

Kinaed listens and ponders.

Satoshi says, "Its only a problem if ya travel and then dont wait for people to catch up"

Satoshi says, "Ive never LOST anyone if i wait until they catch up"

Preposterous nods. Same.

Satoshi claims, "Unless they stop themselves"

Kinaed questions, "So on the whole, do we think that pboard is enough?"

Temi claims, "I've seen issues sometimes around xblocks that stop some but not all, but group fixes that anyway"
Kinaed nods at Temi.

Kuzco says, "Maybe group speed should be the slowest's"
Kinaed nods at Kuzco.

Preposterous says, "I'll always notice that they've poofed, and go back to find them, if needed. Only reason for the 'you're killin' me, Smalls' is because they ended up wandering on their own, so I couldn't retrace."

Karal says, "I have had some minor difficulties but not when actually grouped."

Kinaed claims, "Could probably do that"

Kuzco states, "I mean it's what you do in tabletop RPGs"
Kinaed nods at Kuzco.

Satoshi states, "I think we dont really need to do speed changes at all"

Satoshi doesnt want to have to ungroup to sprint away from slower unfortunates

Kuzco states, "Leave 'em to their fates"

Kuzco states, "Let Dav sort 'em out"

Kinaed states, "Okay, so there's a bit of a reminder for people to group when moving, and the standard way to contact someone if they've been left behind is to page and pboard."

Satoshi says, "If i have to leave the grouo to go fast though "

Temi claims, "It does make sense that if you're walking with a group, you stay with them. But I assume that would be when they are trying to have the same pace"

Satoshi claims, "Then you add an extra step to yeeting"

Kinaed claims, "At this point in time, I feel like I'm seeing weak support for adjusting group walking speeds."

ToffeeApples says, "I don't think pboards are enough. I'm for speed matching in a group, but understand the concerns."

Kinaed says, "We can speed match groups - fastest, slowest, average."

Satoshi queries, "Also would being injured affect this?"

Kinaed states, "I'm not sure it'd create perfect synchrony, but it will probably help."

Satoshi claims, "That would be super bad for toting an injured person around--or be used to get around the negative debuff of being injured"

Kuzco states, "Do mind that adjusting it upwards would mean that a critically wounded person who can only crawl"

Kuzco pontificates, "Would gallop away!"

Satoshi claims, "Honestly this sounds like people want a coded solution for their buddies not waiting for them"

ToffeeApples claims, "Maybe a big notification to the leader that says YOU LOST FOLLOWER in room BLAH BLAH BLAH so they're aware where the split happened. Then they can choose to turn back or continue"

Karal states, "Speed matching groups to fastest sounds less likely to create aggravation aside from intentional abuse? Going slower than you're used to can be really annoying. But yeah, don't know about the injury issue."

Preposterous states, "Would need to carry the injured."

Temi claims, "The way following works now is sort of OOC, code implementation, rather than the way these things actually work"
Kinaed says to Satoshi, "Maybe, but I don't necessarily look down on that desire."
Kinaed nods at Temi.

Kuzco trails off, "Maybe if I carry the injured and Tasker carries me and Galax carries Tasker..."

Galax questions, "Wait, why me!?"

Kinaed says, "Okay, I think staff might take this one to Staff Talking Points to work out :)"

Preposterous says, "Kinky."

Tasker says, "The world would literally end"
Kinaed says to ToffeeApples, "Thank you for raising it to our attention."

ToffeeApples states, "Thank you Kin."

Satoshi claims, "True. i just see a lot of ways this can be abused and not a lot of ways it helps, but j admjg j never have this issue myself"

Satoshi throttles j key

Karal states, "Then the mage carries you, Kuzco, and flies into the sky and drops you."

ToffeeApples says, "J admjg j has other issues"

Satoshi giggles!

Preposterous coughs.

Kinaed questions, "Anything else on anyone's mind? Improvement tweaks, concerns about things? Stuff they just want to get off their chests? Kudos for anyone?"

Kinaed states, "Otherwise, this is one of the shortest OOC Chats in our history :)"

Preposterous shushes Kinaed. "Don't jinx it."

Kuzco claims, "Let me think."

Preposterous says, "Briar is the bomb. That is all."

Preposterous is not biased at all.

Kuzco queries, "Do you guys know if there will be changes to the noble project "Near Completion" limbo?"
Kinaed smiles at preposterous.

Tasker says, "Yeah he's great"

Kuzco states, "He stinks. Literally."

Tasker claims, "How do I liquidate Kuzco"

Galax states, "Cool guy, doesn't afraid of anything"
Kinaed claims to Kuzco, "I've read something about that, but I don't know that I understand the issue, etc."

Karal says, "What's a briar."

Preposterous sticks tongue out at Kuzco.
Kinaed wonders to Kuzco, "Educate me a bit?"

Satoshi claims, "After kuz is answerd i have question"

ToffeeApples states, "Except of being seen"
Kinaed states to Karal, "It's an IC name of a mage."

Kuzco states, "Okay so if you're a noble and you are contributing IP to a project"

Kuzco says, "It's impossible to tell when you have reached the goal, because the highest you get is "Near Completion""

Karal claims, "Oh. I'm guessing the one who has been doing things. Okay."

Kuzco says, "This creates issues when other nobles contribute but don't tell you the exact amount of IP spent"

Kinaed questions, "Does that mean that noble projects are unable to be completed at all, or just that nobles can 'over-sink' QP into the project?"

Sparkles says, "Which means that people can keep contributing to it and "wasting" IP."

Preposterous states to Karal, "Not a great assumption to make, necessarily. There are lots of mages."

Kuzco claims, "Over-sink"

Kinaed queries, "So the solution is just making an alert go to everyone who funded a particular project when it hits complete that a project is fully supported?"

Kuzco says, "Or let project review X display when a project is completed."

Sparkles nods.

Kuzco states, "Because else I have to aim high and call in favors/bribes/blackmail and spend more IP than I need, which is a bit frustrating"

Kinaed claims, "Okay, let me put that on Staff Talking Points too and see about how we can best close that up"

Karal claims, "Maybe I'm not making assumptions. Maybe I'm a genius and can interpret patterns to know who all the mages are."

Kuzco says to Karal, "You need to join the =I="

Kinaed trails off to Kuzco, "Well... I'm not against you aiming high..."

Kinaed questions, "Is that an I with whiskers?"

Temi says, "It's on staffing talking points already"

Temi states, "We haven't had a chat since I put it there last week"

Kinaed states to Temi, "Oh, we just haven't had a staff meeting for awhile."

ToffeeApples claims, "Yeah, kuzco brought it up in the last meeting"

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Kuzco exclaims to Temi, "Yep! I was just checking progress because I need to do projects all the time"

Kinaed declares, "Okay, thanks!"

Karal wonders, "Inquisitors?"
Kuzco nods at Karal.

ToffeeApples declares, "It would be nice to have more of them!"

Kinaed states, "Sorry for being slow - apparently it was written down and will be attended to eventually, one way or another."

Kuzco states, "Oh it's fine! I don't really have anything else to bring up I think."

Karal declaims, "I already made some Orderites mad at me so I'm not sure that'd fly. I bet I'd be good at finding mages, though!"
Kinaed muses to Temi, "Let me guess - I wasn't here for last week's OOC Chat, was I? Or am I drawing a complete blank because I really am suffering early dementia?"

Kuzco claims, "It's dementia"

Kuzco queries, "You said I was the best, remember?"

Satoshi states, "I had brief question then, probably an obvious answer"
Kinaed states to Kuzco, "Nope, don't remember THAT."

Kuzco makes a shrug emoji.

Kinaed sits on Kuzco.

Satoshi wonders, "I wanted to confirm--other than players, no coded way to repair damaged equipment? so SOL if cant meet with a crafter?"

Temi says to Kinaed, "Correct, you were not here."

Kinaed claims to Temi, "I expected so."

Kinaed claims, "You can mail them the item and work through mail."

Kinaed claims, "And there is a coded way to repair, assuming you've the neccessary craft skills."

Kuzco states, "Boxes are very, very expensive though, so get a player to craft some"

Satoshi claims, "Yeah that was my next step but kther than one person that im not sure is still active no other listed crafters"

Kinaed wonders, "How expensive are boxes?"

ToffeeApples says, "Yeah. It's weird."

Sparkles says, "I think the thing is a concern about low login times for crafters in certain areas."
Kinaed nods at Sparkles.

Galax says, "Mail a player to craft you some boxes. In order to send the boxes the have to make a box to put the box in. In order to send the box they put the box in th"

ToffeeApples states, "A merchant boxmaker could make a mint"
Kinaed nods at ToffeeApples.

Sparkles states, "Welp, now I know what I'm spamming this afternoon."

Satoshi claims, "AND the skills are guildskills SO if there arent any (which we didnt have a blacksmith fior a while after one quit) there was NO ONE to repair my crap openly"

Kinaed states, "That's kind of cool. My next character should be a boxmaker."

Preposterous trails off, "Boxes decay quickly, though, mailed or not. So..."

Kinaed ponders, "Az, can mages repair with magic?"

Kalana states, "There's definitely merchants who could make boxes, but I've never heard it mentioned as something people are actually buying"

Azarial wonders, "Umm. no?"

Satoshi states, "And most people dont bandy about if they have guildskills they arent supposed to have"

Vittore muses, "I can make...crates?"

Satoshi claims, "Its the same issue as "no healers on during certain times" where there is NO coded alternative if there arent players"

Preposterous claims, "Up to 36, they are 'allowed' to have it. Nothing says that they couldn't have been taught before arriving."

Kinaed says, "We'll take a look at how quickly boxes decay, but I suspect the high prices are appropriate. As for repairing and not being able to find people who can repair, I suppose this is something to RP with merchants about."

Galax says, "Mail boxes aren't the hardest or most exclusive craft to make, so they aren't the hardest thing ever to supply, tangentially"

ToffeeApples states, "They can be useful to store folders of letters in. Or a box full of armor so you just have one item to haul around with you. I think the default set of armor for Knights comes in a box. "

Azarial states, "Wounds will heal on their own with rp each day."

Satoshi claims, "You cantget the guildskill to start learning unless you start with it or are taught"

Azarial claims, "Treatment just reduces the number of days needed"

Satoshi claims, "Unless that is no longer true"

Kinaed claims to Puck, "We're just talking about the frustrations some players are finding trying to get equipment repaired. It's mainly the domain of crafters, and there's apparently low crafter activity at the moment."

Sparkles claims, "The catch is ... the Merchants themselves have to be about ... to RP with them about how they aren't about."

Temi states, "Art is actually not a guildskill"

Karal claims, "You could always try to find a mage. I bet a mage could heal you."

Puck declaims, "Ah!"

Preposterous says, "And... there are alternatives to healers. What Az said, and... there is, uh. There's stuff in game in certain places, depending on how bad the wound is."

Satoshi states, "MY CONCERN is about leatherworking and blacksmithing, not art"

Karal says, "Then you could burn them for showing you their magic."

Temi states, "Yeah, the art does the boxes."

Kinaed claims, "We just discussed how one can reach out to merchants, even for complaints, via mail."

Preposterous is talking about non-magic. But, yeah. Magic for healing, too.

Puck claims, "I think that people tend to wait for the who list too much still, personally. Like if you're not seeing someone specific on there when you're around looking for them, it feels like they're "not around.""

Satoshi questions, "Yea but if i mail my stuff to someone who never logs in again??"
Kinaed nods at Puck.
Kinaed states to Puck, "That's always been the case."
Puck nods.

Kinaed says, "I think we discussed once making the who list show who is online on the left and who is active on the right."

Preposterous agrees with Puck. "I have had people assume my character(s) aren't around, when I'm clocking close to the top ten or in the top ten. Just, playtimes haven't matched.

Kinaed states, "But it got shot down."

Galax muses, "Mail them without the stuff first to see if they're active and willing to work? If they steal your stuff then make an IC scandal about it?"
Kinaed nods at preposterous.

Puck claims, "I kinda remember something like that, but I thought it just didn't find a good enough option."

Kalana states, "I've tried to always respond promptly to anyone who mails me. And I'd expect to confirm I will do something before someone just sends me their stuff. But i'm not the crafter you need anyway"

Puck claims, "Yeah, same."
Kinaed states to preposterous, "I live in Australia, so I'm usually on in the DEAD OF NIGHT for the US based folks."

Sparkles questions, "What does an IC scandal do though to someone who isn't playing anyways?"

ToffeeApples says, "Hmmmmm"

Kinaed says, "This OOC Chat is usually when I'm getting ready for work, for example."

Satoshi claims, "Sure. So the answer then is no--if there arent crafters or they refuse to serve you, cant repair your stuff, possibly can repair if mage"

Puck questions, "Is there maybe a non-QP option for collecting items from long-inactive people or something?"

Preposterous claims, "Australia has some serious time zone differences, yeah. I have some friends there."

Temi states, "It might be nice if mails returned to sender after a certain amount of time"

Kinaed states, "We generally don't do that, no. For a heap of staff-sanity reasons."
Kinaed nods at Temi.

Puck states, "Oh, I think it actually does already."

Kinaed trails off, "Could do that... "

Gattara claims, "I don't like the idea of automating anything like it's being suggested... for physicians or merchants."

Sparkles says, "That would actually solve people being able to use mail accounts to just store things forever too."

ToffeeApples asks, "Havint returned from sender messages from a merchant to show a merchant guildleader might spark RP?"

Temi queries, "Are people doing that? I don't think we want that"

Kinaed says, "I think I missed what the suggestion is, other than returning uncollected mail to sender if not collected in time."

Gattara says, "Mail should be returned though, yeah."

Kinaed states, "I also like the idea of adjusting the who list so that people online show on one side, and people who are active, but not online, show on the other."

Satoshi says, "This sort of spiralled very far from what i asked and it feels like that got super dismissed"

Preposterous claims, "No one suggested anything for physicians or merchants that I saw. I was saying something EXISTS, depending on the severity of the wound."
Kuzco states to Temi, "It happened"
Kinaed says to Satoshi, "Okay, no one dismissed that repair is hard to do without a crafter and crafters aren't available."

ToffeeApples says, "Oh Kinead I didn't know that's what you meant. That's interesting"

Vittore claims, "Wouldn't that make a big list though? I like the idea myself but it might become spammy for some people."

Sparkles muses, "Also who that is active is actually being forgotten they exist?"

ToffeeApples asks, "Maybe some shops could offer repair as a service with their usual markup, and of course records kept for RP investigations?"

Satoshi claims, "Alright so do you feel like that is enough of an issue to consider it or is your answer "this isnt an issue, since we may have current crafteds currently""

Vittore claims, "But it would be a good way to keep track of who is still around."

Gattara queries, "Maybe make it an option for 'who' rather than the standard 'who'?"
Kinaed claims to Vittore, "It would be bigger, but I think what I dummied up was okay."

Vittore nods.

Puck claims, "Like a 'who active' toggle for the longer version, I like that."
Gattara nods.
ToffeeApples nods.

Vittore states, "That sounds good."

Preposterous says, "It's really easy to check who is active, actually. If... someone needs to."

Satoshi says, "You can check individual activity on whois, but i know guildlist isnt always accurate on what skills a merchant has"

Temi says, "The problem is we don't necessarily want to work around player needs if it will encourage players to come in to fill those needs"

ToffeeApples queries, "You meran with whois?"
Puck nods at Temi.

Preposterous claims, "Yep, that way that Satoshi just mentioned."

ToffeeApples says, "Ya sorry, scrollin fast"
say Except I'm not sure it always suddenly creates people who want to do those things and in some cases can stop the RP of the people who are active.

Sparkles states, "Except I'm not sure it always suddenly creates people who want to do those things and in some cases can stop the RP of the people who are active."

Kuzco claims, "There's also the issue that many merchants are alts so they are RP inactive, yet they fulfill orders"

Gattara claims, "It only takes an hour a week to be active."

Kinaed claims, "Honestly, I think there's only so much we can do to help inactive merchants who just 'fulfill orders' - which I find a dubious claim at best because they're not likely to get orders if they're not viewed as active."
Kinaed nods at Gattara.

Satoshi states, "Like i would PREFER to go to a player. but if there ARENT any that you can easily find--then you have no option than to buy NPC equipment when yours breaks"

Satoshi states, "And if YOU make a merchant to fill that need, alt policy means you cant fix your own stuff"

Puck says, "I think a lot of players would like to be more than just their guild job and it's easy to burn out in ANY job if you're considered the "only one." I definitely understand and appreciate the frustration of having to wait on something, especially if it seems like there IS only one person who can help out."

ToffeeApples trails off, "Inactivity is a problem with all guilds :( Just need more players and more active players ... idealy"
Gattara nods.
Kuzco nods.
ToffeeApples nods at Puck.

Satoshi says, "Yeah that killed me as my tailor"

ToffeeApples states, "Jobs in this game are demanding"

Kinaed says, "I don't really understand why buying NPC equipment is a terrible thing. That specifically exists to allow people to get around when there aren't any merchants available."

Tasker queries, "What crafts are people waiting on, out of interest?"

Sparkles claims, "The thing is that putting the full burden of players to be the only ones to do things I think adds to that burn out."

Karal wonders, "Leatherworking most I think?"
Kinaed nods at Sparkles.

Satoshi says, "I wouldnt mind paying a lotmore if i didnt have to worry about "when this breaks i have nothing""

ToffeeApples queries, "Maybe some shops could offer repair as a service with their usual markup, and of course records kept for RP investigations?"

Puck says, "Something to consider about craft repairs (sorry, merchants): A lot of people probably have a craft skill they don't advertise or actively try to sell, but some repair work can be handled by people with minimal skill."

Karal claims, "Satoshi is the one with complaints though so I'd ask them."

Satoshi claims, "Like i have no idea, frankly, where to get leather armor in an NPC shop when mine breaks, ive only seen plate"

Puck claims, "So as an alternative to trying without success to meet up with a guilded merchant, you might consider IC advertisements for help with repair work."
Kuzco says to Kinaed, "NPC equipment usually is very, very overpriced in comparison with PCs"

ToffeeApples states, "You could post a request to an IC board"

Satoshi claims, "Yeah stuff from NPCs is SUPER expensive and not as good quality"

Kinaed states, "We can consider an NPC shop that does repairs. We'd need to balance it against what a merchant could/would charge for the privilege so that it's still beneficial for crafters to repair things"

ToffeeApples claims, "Though their use has seemed to dwindle"

Preposterous totally just learned about 'repair' JUST NOW, and has been here nearly a year.

Karal claims, "I have seen chain. But it was in a shop not everyone can access, so."

Puck claims, "IC boards seem really underused to me too, yeah."

ToffeeApples claims, "They used to be very active."
Puck nods.
Kinaed nods at ToffeeApples.

Galax says, "The IC bulletin boards are easy to miss and it's hard to notice when they've been updated unless someone drops a mood"

Puck states, "I blame smart phones."

Temi claims, "IC Events board may be too easy."

Satoshi says, "Like I mean, i understand you want a player economy but if there are no alternatives that means you grind to a halt when you have no players to fill that need"

Kinaed claims, "It's weird to me. When I first started playing TI in 1999 - using IC Boards was huge. Everyone read and actioned the general board in Church Square and their own guild board daily."

Kinaed states, "At some stage that fell out of disuse."

Puck states, "Not being funny! I think there's a trend towards instant gratification that isn't really sustainable with our current pbase."

ToffeeApples says, "It's a good way to say, Hey, my name's Bob, and I need a sex harness, any leatherworkers around. Will pay double for good work yada yada."

Kinaed says, "Note: I'm not referring to the IC_Events board, but in-game boards."
say I think that particular thing would be a Black Market post. ;)

Sparkles claims, "I think that particular thing would be a Black Market post. ;)"

Satoshi states, "I think the player base just dropped honestly, Kin, and people expect you to come to them with stuff "
Kinaed nods at Temi.

Kuzco claims, "I tried to promote the IC board at the Globe but it didn't catch among the guild"

Tasker states, "The Knights have a pretty active IC board in the Keep, which I'm glad to say. "

Kinaed claims, "I think guild leaders should push that people need to be reading their guild board and the church square board for IC events."

Kuzco realises Town hall has no board
Kinaed muses to Temi, "Do you think we should remove the game-wide IC events board?"

ToffeeApples states, "I read it a lot, tasker, though I don't know if 'active' is the right word. "

Preposterous says, "There's also a board in the Queen's Inn."

Sparkles claims, "No"

Kinaed asks, "Or just make it big plot only?"

Tasker claims, "Well people USE IT "
Kinaed nods at preposterous.

Kinaed claims, "Oh my, it's the top of the hour :)"

Temi says, "Definitely not gone altogether, but we may over rely on it, so reducing that some might be good"

Puck claims, "I think the IC Events bboard is important, especially for keeping people informed who may not be very involved on the ground level."

Temi claims, "But maybe not"

Kuzco claims, "IC Events board allows people who play less to be in the know of wide events that they should, ICly, know"

Kuzco trails off, "Like... the freaking vortex"

Karal says, "The what"

Satoshi claims, "I think the ooc info board should be kept"

Preposterous claims, "I like the IC events board, because those things get transported over to the archives on the forums - so they're permanently documented."

Sparkles says, "IC Events Board also can't have someone just remove the posts and junk them."
Kinaed smiles.

Satoshi states, "And that removing it is a super bad idea"

ToffeeApples states, "If it weren't removed but replaced with automatic posts to all the actual IC boards, that might get people usinfg them again, but I don't know if that's really the solution"

Satoshi says, "If anything jt keeps you aware kf what your character SHOULD know"

Kinaed queries, "Let's resume this discussion next week, shall we? We went from 'it's 30 minutes in and we've got nothing to talk about' to 'wow, it's time to go, when did that happen?' :)"

Galax claims, "I think the question is more about whether the ICEvents board should be getting used for most player announcements, E.G. events, rather than an IC on-grid bulletin, not whether IC events should cease existing at all"

Karal claims, "My character should know a lot of things he definitely does not know."

Kinaed claims, "Nice."

Puck claims, "Use of the grid boards seems like a cultural thing. With the blackmarket and messengers and guildlists showing more specific information about people's jobs, I think it just feels less necessary to use them."

ToffeeApples asks, "Or replace it with some Newsies style town criers. With a weekly digest or something? I dunno"

Kinaed says, "But in respect to everyone's time, thank you for attending this week's OOC Chat."

Satoshi declaims, "Thanks staff!"

Kinaed declares, "Let's pick this up next week!"
Azarial peers about intently, then chases her tails once, twice, thrice--she's gone! [OOC]

Puck states, "That said, it wasn't that long ago that people in an OOC chat were talking about not knowing who was what in the merchants so they posted lists on the boards around town."

Puck declares, "Byee!"

Kinaed waves happily, "Please write a review to attract new players to join us on Reddit or TMC!"

Kuzco declaims, "Or in https://www.reddit.com/r/MUD/ !"
