Kinaed muses, "
Today's Agenda is:

- Staff Updates
- Player Heartbeat
- Player Topics

Is there anything anyone would like to add to the agenda to make certain we discuss it today
?"

Janus closes a fine wooden coin display box with delicate pewter hinges.

"
oooh, I would." [Janus]

Nadya gets a small wooden coin depicting a face above a slim cadeceus from a fine wooden coin display box with delicate pewter hinges.

Kinaed asks, "
Got Janus. Anyone else have a topic?"

Empena states, "
I have something I'd like to bring up."

Margaux states, "
I can't not think of sesame street now, sorry Sauv. One sausage, hahahah! Two sausages hahahaha! Nomnomnomnomn."

Margaux catches up and goes quiet.

Kinaed muses, "
Got empena. Anyone else?"

Evani closes a fine wooden coin display box with delicate pewter hinges.

Sauvaige says, "
I can't even remember how this nickname started"

Vicannia says, "
Your name alone"

Sauvaige says, "
Looks nothin like sausage D:"

Empena says, "
I ... I'm pretty sure I might have been the one who started it, to be fair and honest."

Evani claims, "
Yes it does."

Nadya puts a small wooden coin depicting a face above a slim cadeceus in a fine wooden coin display box with delicate pewter hinges.

Kinaed pontificates, "
Okay, let's get this party started. There are a lot of people in the room, so if you're not talking, please keep the jokes and chatter to a minimum. Thanks!"

Marisa states, "
If you ignore that v is a completely different sound from s, it is pretty close... shshing."

Kinaed says, "
Also, if you've got a topic, please pre-write it so that you can introduce it quickly when you're called on."

Kinaed has transferred Eirian. [OOC]

Taunya says to Niamh, "
Suggestion for The next OOC gift- cans of Vicannia Sauvaiges."

Niamh gives a fine wooden coin display box with delicate pewter hinges to Eirian.

Nadya claims, "
But vicannia already has a sausage."

Niamh chuckles.

Azarial muses, "
Kinda like princer albert in a can?"

Margaux states to Taunya, "Sauvaige, Vicannia slashfic now."

Evani asks, "
Whose Vicannia gonna be with, though?"

Kinaed states, "
To kick off Staff Updates, last week I ... am pretty sure I didn't do anything big. I had a couple of policy cases, but nothing huge. I processed the request queue and Request Board."

Nadya states, "
'Ah, da, I vhould like your bratvurst, Herr Betencourt.'"

Evani shushes.

Kinaed says, "
Things on my desk - mostly just Jail Message Automation. I think."

Rothgar says, "
Nice."

Kinaed claims to Azarial, "You're up :)"

Azarial says, "
A few bugs, a crassh bug or two, the damned formatter, and more wokr on assets"

Azarial claims, "
Moved surnames out of the nanny into purchase, I suppose"

Kinaed claims, "
Changes worth mentioning - surnames are now purchased in game with the purchas command. Apparently we can make waist quivers. Pets can't buy from shops. Some staff member has broken away from dashes to use stars, naughty staffer. You cannot shoulder your way out of Chains of Tanois, the Seneschal can gambit regardless of GL approval, Appraise Shop shows objs in open containers, whoinvis now resets on login."

Azarial claims, "
It ahs been stars; someone started using dashes"

Vicannia questions, "
So does that mean surnames have the potential for not being purchased? Or will it be a required purchasebefore entering the game"

Niamh might be guilty of the stars, oh god.

Kinaed claims to Temi, "You're up. :)"

Temi declaims, "
No big progress on my side, I'm afraid. Some plots, etc. But that's about it!"

Nadya wonders, "
Is there a limit to how many times a gambit from the seneschal can be instated?"

Vicannia trails off, "
I read that as broken away from dashes to use stairs..."

Kinaed says, "
Okay, that's me."

Evani huggles Niamh gently from her lapseat.

Taunya says to Vicannia, "
It requires surname puchase before entry."

Desna states, "
Vic So did I"

Kinaed says, "
Okay, Temi's turn :)"

Temi states to Kinaed, "I already did mine."

Kinaed says, "
Oh dear, I missed it. *Scroll*"

Janus queries, "
Can the seneschal gambit out secret GLs?"

Namaka sits down and rests.

Kinaed states, "
Aha. Got it."

Kinaed declares to Niamh, "Your turn!"

Niamh claims, "
This week got through a significant portion of the new Tubori Quarter. The layout is completely finished and built in-game. Many descriptions are done and in, and all the shops have been repositioned and readied for release. Charged through the Tubori Quarter plots (on that note, if I missed yours, please let me know! There were a lot of them). The tradesman mobile has been updated again, as it had been ages and he was still trading for Lyndalian white wine. Kept close watch on the Request/Typo boards and you guys' recommends. I'm still collecting data with my tester on tradeskill cost balance, but it's coming to a close. I would be surprised if by the next OOC meeting I wasn't finished with it. "

Kinaed says to Janus, "Probably. That said, the gambit only initiates a gambit, it doesn't 'remove' anyone."

Temi says, "
If anything OOC or abusive is going on with the seneschal stuff, we'll address it then, probably with policy."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Desna questions to Kinaed, "So Senechel can just 'gambit <GL Title or GL Name>' ?"

Niamh says, "
Oh, and updated HELP SCALES to hopefully be a lot more screenreader friendly."

Janus queries, "
Why would the seneschal be able to gambit the Rubeus or the Tenebrae?"

Evani coos in appreciation. "
Thank you Niamh!"

Namaka declares, "
It's a lot friendlier for everyone to read, I think!"

Niamh smiles.

Niamh pontificates, "
Glad to hear it!"

Nadya states, "
I'll personally hug anyone who sifted through that mess."

Kinaed says to Desna, "I think so. It goes into a staff request queue for review and approval, like all gambits, though."

Desna queries to Kinaed, "So they still need to set it up like a Coup?"

Kinaed nods at Desna.

Desna nods at Kinaed.

Steven asks, "
Seneschal gambit command at least requires an IP expenditure I hope?"

Vicannia is excited to see the new tubori quarter "
The crows nest was nice... but the crows nest 2.0... oh the possibilities."

Azarial states, "
No so much a coup as an ousting. ou dont; automcatically get the job"

Evani claims, "
I will so go in the new Tubori quarter."

Niamh states to Vicannia, "Agreed! I'm really eager for you everybody to see it."

Desna claims to Janus, "Senechel would still need to have a means of executing the Gambit. Can't just -bam- out with ya style type thing."

Niamh says, "
-you"

Kinaed wonders to Niamh, "All done? :)"

Rothgar claims, "
Well, we're all thinking it : who's gonna be the first one to try to gambit the Manus. Place your bets."

Niamh nods.

Janus states, "
Just seems unthematic that the leadership of an antagonist guild should even be bought into question by the seneschal. I'm sure it won't be a problem."

Evani states, "
I bet two spacebux."

Niamh says, "
I think if they have a solid plan for it and it pops in the request queue, we'd approve it. Otherwise, not so much."

Kinaed nods at Niamh.

Desna asks of Janus, "If the Senechel could get their fingers keep enough in either guild, why not allow it?"

Steven states, "
Keep in mind gambits are still approved by staff."

Kinaed nods at Steven.

Steven claims, "
I doubt the seneschal one bypasses that"

Janus shrugs. "
I guess we'll find out how it goes."

Azarial claims, "
It bypasses the guildleader rating check"

Kinaed states to Steven, "It does not. Staff review all gambits to make sure they're ICly reasonable."

Kinaed nods at Azarial.

Nadya claims, "
So long as the council keeps its -self- in a-okay straits when it comes to on-grid effectiveness, I'm a-okay with the change."

Temi says, "
In general, we trust our players a fair amount. We don't believe craziness is really going to come to pass, and if it gets to us, we'll check for lack of craziness. Or just the right sort of crazies."

Niamh grins at Temi.

Kinaed states, "
Also, a reminder for people initiating gambits - you don't automatically become the next GL, AND the paragraph you post is visible to everyone, so please if it'll look anonymous, don't put your name in the text."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Heydan asks, "
Can I be the craziness?"

Vicannia swears they are completely sane

Evani states, "
Nope"

Steven says, "
With moving to that though, Id suggest maybe considering changing 1st GLs to Lithmore centric ones and making the kingdom spanning positions NPCs like the Cardinal"

Janus wonders, "
I guess I just don't understand why the new powers are needed by the seneschal. Is it to make sure everything is kept fresh?"

Evani grins and shakes her head at Vicannia. "
No you're not. Not sane."

Taunya claims to Janus, "
They needed a stick, carrots don't always work."

Nadya states, "
I'd rather not lose my position and ability to assist in my role's lore."

Vicannia trails off, "
I think it's to make the Seneschal a bit more of a true power... as it is right now everybody basically walks over the seneschal, only coming to them when they need silver or gold"

Kinaed says to Steven, "We're considering that, actually. We just haven't decided on any thematic shifts at this time."

Empena says, "
My concern here is that ... the Seneschal knows who is voting for what Metric (I'm guessing that's a thing they can RP or it's part of their Seneschal only commands?) which is a form of support. The Support help files says that no one should except or demand that from other people, but ... isn't the ability to know how people vote in Metrics and then hold the ability to start a gambit in order to get support sort of what you want to push for a really big thing? Especially now that Metrics literally affect the lives of every character on grid."

"
Oh, got it. Cheers guys." Janus says.

Safir begins to count their money.

Vicannia says, "
I didn't think the seneschal knows who votes how."

Margaux states, "
Seneschal knows who has voted for a metric, but not for what."

Bertrand trails off, "
No they only kow who has voted... yeah"

Margaux claims, "
But they can guess when there aren't many votes."

Temi states, "
Because the position has felt responsible for everything, from numerous different seneschals, without any power to wield. So we wanted to give them a little bit. This doesn't remove anyone, they still have to be voted out. It just gives a jumpstart after someone upsets people."

Niamh states, "
The support files on supporting/subverting are not in the metrics file by design."

Nadya wonders, "
Er, if that's the case, then would it be a-okay if I raise a topic?"

Margaux says, "
Staff, I'd suggest something to make it murky at least until there are 4-5 votes."

Desna muses, "
Does knowing who votes for what expose covert guild leaders?"

Kinaed states to Nadya, "Adding you to the queue, please pre-type your topic"

Rhaine is idle.

Heydan states, "
Just going to say that I have a topic when we get to it."

Margaux says, "
Covert gls (and non council members) show up with their name hidden."

Kinaed claims to Heydan, "Adding you to the queue. Please pretype your introduction."

Kinaed claims, "
I think it's fine for a Seneschal to have reasons to gambit a GL based on their IC behavior and the things they do."

Kinaed states, "
I don't see why it'd be an issue that the Seneschal can threaten someone for not doing what they want. A gambit threat is only powerful in certain circumstances."

Niamh states, "
Pretty tentative line to walk, as well. Pick a popular person you're unable to convince anybody needs to be gone, and you're likely going to be gambited out of your office next."

Desna claims to Kinaed, "I agree with that."

Rothgar says, "
Or just shank the Seneschal."

Kinaed nods at Rothgar.

Kinaed states, "
Can do that too."

Niamh states to Rothgar, "Or shank the Seneschal."

Eirian claims, "
I think Margaux's suggestion is a good one for preventing metagaming."

Empena states, "
Because the goal seems to be to change core parts of the theme of the game to give one single player huge power."

Margaux claims to Rothgar, "My preferred suggestion."

Kinaed says, "
I'll take note of Margaux's suggestion. Meanwhile, back to the OOC Chat Agenda please."

Steven claims, "
The ability to initiate a gambit isnt as huge a power as everyone is making it out to be."

Kinaed muses, "
Player Heartbeat! How was RP last week, folks?"

Azarial nods at Steven.

Evani states, "
I had fun when I was around, on both of me."

Margaux says to Empena, "You have a similar power to use excommunication."

Rothgar says, "
Yeah, it'd be odd and worrying to see the power of GL's suddenly shifting to only Lithmore city. RP was good this week."

Desna states to Empena, "But to initiate the gambit, the senechel has to have the means to do it. They can't just say, 'You out.' they have to have hidden support inside the guilds which would evolve into a Coup."

Percival states, "
Good! I had a lot of people come by the university. The new librarian is a cool cat, as are the others that drop by."

Marisa states, "
Trying to get a hold of people IC, to hopefully hold an event at some point."

Marisa claims, "
But the scenes I have had have been pleasant."

Heydan says, "
Pretty good."

Heydan says, "
Pretty good."

Heydan trails off, "
Arg...."

Namaka states, "
I had lots of fun this week! Some nice tailoring scenes as Nam and lots of drama as Robin."

Pearl states, "
Excellent."

Steven claims, "
I had great rp this week."

Rhaine is no longer idle.

Evani giggles.

Rhaine has returned from AFK.

Steven says, "
Got out and about and met people"

Evani giggles louder

Kinaed says, "
Sounds like an overall positive experience for folks. I'm so glad to hear that."

Vicannia says, "
Rp was interesting to say the least. My connection made it difficult at times though"

Steven states, "
The Reevies are gonna be awesome."

Janus states, "
"First week without blowing off my eyebrows!" /self says with a little wiggle."

Sauvaige pontificates, "
Ramping up for a heated campaign!"

Niamh grins at Sauvaige.

"
First week without blowing off my eyebrows!" Janus says with a little wiggle.

Sauvaige blows off Janus' eyebrows

Evani states, "
Let's see."

Niamh declares to Janus, "Your coin should have been a gold star!"

Margaux states, "
Stepped down, and then relaxed in my travel room most of the week. :)"

Evani says, "
That's good Margaux"

Kinaed queries, "
Everyone knows how to use bid influence commands, right? You all know you can pool your influence too? And buy influence with Silver? Get it with support?"

Steven brow waggles at Margaux.

Rothgar states, "
Really positive Manus influences, by the by, many thanks for that. Having more fun with Mages, now, than I've had for a very long time."

Sauvaige claims, "
^"

Vicannia states, "
You can only buy up to 5 ip a week"

Evani says, "
Well Mages don't always have to be dooshy."

Kinaed says, "
But you can pool it with your friends."

Evani says, "
Wow."

Janus claims to Rothgar, "You guys aren't so bad either. Keep us mages warm."

Evani grins

Namaka starts writing a note. (This is an OOC action)

Kinaed claims, "
I am very glad to hear the Order and mages are enjoying their dynamic at the moment."

Niamh nods in agreement.

Janus trails off, "
Now if they could just hand over all the cool loot..."

Steven says, "
Wait wait wait hold the phone"

Kinaed wonders, "
Okay, anything about the game shitting anyone that they want staff to know about?"

Evani says, "
Compulse them."

Namaka finishes her note.

Evani wonders, "
Compulse?"

Nadya starts writing a note. (This is an OOC action)

Evani says, "
Wait this isn't wheel of time."

Rothgar claims, "
Well, you know, a nice date or two would go a long way. Just putting it out there, I like candlelit dinners."

Kinaed says, "
There's a nasty compulsion spell out there."

Steven muses, "
An ooc meeting with happy order mage rp?"

Niamh grins at Steven.

Heydan says, "
Best part of living outside the city is that I literally have no idea what is going on most of the time and when I arrive in town I just see all the aftermath and I'm like well damn."

Janus states, "
Kin, Shh."

Kinaed claims, "
Oh, sorry."

Evani claims, "
LOL"

Heydan claims, "
Its quite fun."

Kinaed zips her lips.

Evani grins at the staffer.

Kinaed says, "
Yay, nothing appears to be shitting anyone."

Janus claims, "
I'm saving mine for my topic ;)"

Empena says, "
Yeah, me too, heh."

Kinaed declaims, "
Let's get to Player Topics then. If you haven't pre-written your topic, please do so now. The first person in my list is Janus. Please introduce us!"

Taunya is constipated.

Janus questions, "
I've noticed there are a few spells that won't work when people are whoinvis, specifically ranged ones. Is this a bug or feature?"

Kinaed says, "
Seems like a bug. Please Bug Board them."

Kinaed says, "
Staff have to discuss them individually."

Janus says, "
Will do"

Janus claims, "
Topic ends."

Kinaed says, "
Yeah, so when you bug, bug individually."

Kinaed says, "
Thanks, Janus"

Kinaed finishes abruptly, "
Okay, next person - Empena, please introduce us to your topic :)"

Empena claims, "
I'd like to bring up a thought or a concern, and I'm trying to figure out how to word this. But ... at times there seems to be this atmosphere or leaning about people sort of working to address IC worries in an OOC manner without first addressing them IC. This leads to some real ... well, awkwardness at times. At least I feel awkward about that."

Kinaed claims, "
I agree with that wholeheartedly."

Desna questions to Empena, "Can you give us an example?"

Kinaed claims, "
I even had a policy case this week of someone instantly reacting to something someone said IC with an OOC remark."

Steven claims, "
Oh dear"

Janus says, "
I can agree with that. There has been a lot of suspicion about peopl cheating when the characters have actually doing it all IC. It seems like the first port of call is 'well obviously they cheated'."

Kinaed says, "
Not only that, just the idea that RP is a negotiation, and it can be negotiated OOC."

Evani says, "
Oy"

Janus claims, "
This happens doubly so for magic, because it's pretty much cheating."

Kinaed says, "
People seem to do this reasonably frequently."

Azarial states, "
Should be stoping in tortuga first and seeing who paid bribes"

Nadya finishes his note.

Steven says, "
I love you Az."

Kinaed says to Janus, "Well, it's not, but I can see why information gathered there might be seen that way."

Janus says, "
That's what I'm talking about, Willis."

Rothgar claims, "
It happens a lot, yes. I think we shouldn't note specific cases, of course, but... Well. Try to hash it out IC'ly, first. It really does make it easier."

Azarial says, "
And you get paid for doing it icly"

Rothgar nods at Azarial.

Kinaed states, "
I once had a policy case that said 'So how did a person know this portal led to Bob's House? Did they actually write 'portal to Bob's House on the portal'? Looked at it, and actually, yes. THey'd literally written 'portal to Bob's House' on the portal."

Kinaed says, "
But no trust whatsoever."

Janus says, "
Wow."

Niamh claims, "
... I just laughed out loud."

Temi grins.

Steven states, "
Rofl."

Kinaed claims, "
Sorry, that one cracked me up."

Steven claims, "
I literally lold"

Percival says, "
Sometimes I find it helps to reassure someone that you're not angry with them ICly"

Kinaed states, "
I guess if you're a mage trying to keep track of 10 portals you're carrying around, it makes sense to label them."

Kinaed nods at Percival.

Vicannia ponders if trying to schedule a ic meeting, time and date wise, falls under this category

Evani claims, "
LOL"

Temi says, "
Not that we aren't willing to look at potential policy concerns."

Evani claims, "
Seriously laughed out loud"

Vicannia looks to Kinaed "
Ten portals? that seems a bit much."

Rothgar says, "
Not so much here, I'm always angery at you lot, 24/7, we all know this. But yeh, percival. U rite"

Steven claims, "
I dont have a problem with some ooc discussion if someone is concerned it may stem from an OOC perspective."

Niamh nods at Steven.

Kinaed claims, "
Scheduling meetings with people to RP is an RP facilitation thing. That's fine. So long as the schedule isn't 'come rp with me so we cna get X outcome' or 'so I can burn you' as opposed to 'come RP with me at 10am'"

Empena states, "
I've brought this up before, and therefore ... when there's major changes proposed that hinge a lot on an idea of trust, that's ... difficult when it doesn't feel like at the ground level there is that trust between the playerbase at times. It starts to affect your RP and IC decisions. And in at least one case where I told people I felt uncomfortable that my RP was being discusssed in an OOC manner, the response I got from others seemed to be rather ... blase. I will confess, it hurt. Not the question or concern but ... yeah. "

Percival states, "
I think there can be a balance of IC/OOC. You need to schedule meetings for RP. You need to reassure people that you're playing a role."

Janus nods at Empena.

Taunya says, "
Sometimes it pays to check OOCly. I'd almost acted on an assumption that someon was a mage based on something they knew they shouldn't have, but it turned out to be an unintentional knowledge leak from an alt."

Vicannia ponders why there is such a lack of trust between players recently... I mean this honestly seems like a recent concern. I mean we had it in the past, but not to this degree it seems

Temi states, "
Well.. even if there are issues with players trusting each other, staff still, overall, trusts players, and most of the things we find have a real explanation."

Margaux states to Kinaed, "Perhaps a help 'Facilitation of RP' helpfile may be useful to make it clear what is okay there? It may exist, but my helpfilefu is weak this morning."

Desna muses to Taunya, "Then isn't that crossover?"

Kinaed claims, "
I think if your character assumes someone is a mage because they've said soemthing IC that'd make them a mage, they should wear that"

Taunya claims to Desna, "
Was, but not intentional. basically just nulled it"

Kinaed claims, "
I don't think an OOC discussion about the merit or whatnot of IC info should happen between players; concerns about crossover should be discussed and facilitated by staff."

Janus states to Desna, "Maybe it's crossover, but people can be forgetful. It doesn't have to jump straight to policy."

Steven queries, "
May I ask a staff question?"

Azarial says, "
Cnotes help with that, if you need to keep things straight between alts."

Temi nods at Steven.

Kinaed says to Steven, "Always."

They aren't here.

Taunya nods at Azarial.

Steven muses, "
Out of all of the policy cases concerning possible cheating. How often would you say it was legitimately so and not just a misunderstanding?"

Kinaed ponders.

Steven states, "
I get the feeling its rare."

Temi states, "
That's probably a Kin question, yeah."

Temi says, "
It's certainly more often just misunderstandings."

Kinaed claims, "
Generally, incidents of actual, intentional cheating are very low. We get more 'cheating because someone was dumb in the moment' than malicious cheating. Even then, most of the time people are suspicious, there's an IC explanation."

Steven nods.

Kinaed claims, "
I've seen people swear up and down that Joe wouldn't betray them, and it says in their cnotes 'I, Joe, am betraying Jane.""

Kinaed has transferred Nyna. [OOC]

Rothgar snorts.

Azarial snerks.

Eirian chuckles.

Steven says, "
Magic in particular has a way of learning things people wouldnt know about."

Margaux states to Kinaed, "Would be good to check out the actual stats on that."

Azarial claims, "
Stop in tortuga first."

Desna laughs.

Kinaed states, "
I've seen people lie OOCly to the faces of someone they fully intended to sacrifice."

Kinaed states, "
And the person believe the person setting them up to kill them over staff."

Evani says, "
Woooow"

Kinaed states, "
Mind, I couldn't tell the player 'Joe wants to sacrifice you'"

Kinaed states, "
I could just say 'I'm sorry, Joe is lying to you.'"

Evani trails off, "
That's so wrong..."

Azarial grins.

Evani claims, "
Wrong and sad."

Azarial claims, "
'mage', as said by a certain pirate."

Kinaed states, "
I tend to wear those ones, more often than you'd think."

Steven claims, "
Maybe they shouldnt have asked the dude ooc if they were going to"

Janus states, "
CAN I JUST SAY THAT HAPPENED ONCE"

Kinaed nods at Steven.

Janus states, "
And Jane wasn't that good of a sacrifice anyway"

Steven says, "
I tricked a dude once. Not even ashamed of it."

Evani claims, "
Well yes but it is still kinda a slap in the face"

Kinaed claims to Janus, "It did, to a character that's not here, but I think the player still is."

Azarial states, "
Aww, but that;s such fun code; it should be used more oftenb"

Grins.
[Janus]

Niamh gives a fine wooden coin display box with delicate pewter hinges to Nyna.

Steven states, "
Dude thought I was the only one he could trust :("

<3
[Janus]

Margaux says to Janus, "That is like a disembodied Cheshire Cat grin. :)"

Evani claims, "
Omg, so sad."

Kinaed says, "
Anyway, more often than not, I'd say 95% of the time, there's an IC explanation that's just none of the business of the person asking."

Temi claims, "
These examples being at least 6 months old, I think, too."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Janus states to Margaux, "My emote game isn't particularly fire today."

Desna states to Steven, "Yeah, I did that too. It was interesting"

Kinaed claims, "
The characters involved are gone now."

Niamh comforts Janus.

Niamh states to Janus, "We all have those days."

Evani trails off, "
I am a good girl... sometimes"

Vicannia whistles innocently on the topic of cross and double-cross

Azarial states, "
Part of the ic/ooc seperation; don;t ask, don;t tell. <_<"

Eirian states, "
Ayep."

Azarial states, "
Reading ahead in the next chapter of your story just donea;t work."

Rhaine is idle.

Kinaed wonders, "
Okay, anything further on this topic?"

Heydan states, "
One time I played an Star Wars Muds where they killed my character by destroying the capital ship I quit on while I was off-line. Thought that was BS."

Evani says, "
Ok now that was bs"

Niamh muses to Heydan, "...LOTJ?"

Janus wonders to Azarial, "The last few pages of my story are burnt out. What gives?"

Heydan claims, "
Yes."

Evani claims, "
I play LOTJ."

Azarial claims, "
Add new pages, get a quill. ;)"

Niamh asks, "
Which faction were you in?"

Sauvaige is idle.

Evani claims, "
I'm an Engineer on there and am in Araetek corperation, but I digress."

Azarial claims, "
You must have been scary to resort to that"

Niamh grins.

Kinaed states, "
I'd say - if you think someone is using OOC info, contact staff.

Do NOT:
- Approach a person OOCly to ask if their RP is kosher. Seriously.
- Explain why you're doing things OOC.
- Try to negotiate a change to the RP
."

Kinaed muses, "
I miss anything there?"

Heydan states, "
None, I purchased a capital and went sector by sector until I found all the hidden bases."

Kinaed says, "
I'll look at a help file around RP facilitation and its limits"

Sauvaige is no longer idle.
Sauvaige has returned from AFK.

Margaux states to Kinaed, "Thanks."

Heydan claims, "
Never got to sell any of their locations though. The popped me offline after I found the Jedi."

Taunya questions, "
Does this override help nulling?"

Empena wonders, "
Can we add, not send people tells demanding they explain why you are doing something ICly? "

Nadya stretches out.

Kinaed says, "
Oh, and on player trust - don't forward each other's notes or logs of what people are saying to one another without asking. It's hugely disrespectful and does not help trust or relationships."

Azarial laughs.

Niamh says to Empena, "That's totally already a thing. Not sure which helpfile, but it's in there."

Kinaed states, "
Heard that's getting to be a problem too."

Azarial says, "
Well, next time lie about what you;re doing? then sell it all to someone else and let them take the fall."

Margaux states to Empena, "I used to have people beg me not to burn them, through tells. Pulling the heartstrings."

Evani blows a strand of hair out of her face.

Kinaed says, "
Also, if someone sends you tells about RP that you think are off, or demanding, or pressuring - contact me."

Janus queries, "
I've been blaming a lot of my actions on baby eating. Maybe you should try that, your holy honour?"

Azarial grins.

Rhaine is no longer idle.
Rhaine has returned from AFK.

Evani exclaims, "
Baby eating? You are horrible!"

Kinaed says, "
To my great shame, I may have done that once with an alt many years ago."

Safir trails off to Margaux, "If only Orderites had hearts..."

Kinaed claims, "
We grow up. I hope."

Azarial says, "
Reply if you were doing this ICly, we'd both be paid for it and ti would make it an awesome scene"

Vicannia claims to Margaux, "That's not fun... and that would probably make me burn them more."

Heydan states, "
Brb going to the bathroom"

Heydan has gone AFK.

Margaux states to Kinaed, "Wasn't you."

Kinaed claims to Margaux, "I know; just pointing out that people make mistakes."

Margaux says to Kinaed, "Was... TPB Lando's RL ex."

Kinaed claims, "
Sympathetic, but yeah - it shouldn't happen."

Azarial states, "
Though that makes me think of stitch eating the toy car while standing on the ruins of book-san franciso."

Kinaed asks, "
Okay, next person - Eirian, won't you introduce us to your topic?"

Eirian states, "
Yep! Just a reminder that the Spring Awakening event is tonight. It's a game-wide event, hopefully with a little something for everyone (not just Lithmore's elite), but I'll give folks some time after the chat to change into their best outfits and get all gussied up. Messengers will go out when I've got a drink in my hand and I'm ready to rock and roll."

Kinaed smiles.

Janus wonders, "
Can I come?"

Evani has no best outfit. Next.

Kinaed states to Eirian, "
Thank you for running an event."

Namaka is offended that Evani doesn't think the clothes she made count as a best outfit.

Safir states to Janus, "Always."

Vicannia debates if they have the mental fortitude today for an event...

Janus claims to Eirian, "Keep up the good work with the merchants."

Azarial states, "
...for some reason, that makes me wonder if a red (cupped) hand codpiece would be in the offing"

Kinaed declares, "
Next person with a topic - Nadya!"

Evani giggles. "
Your clothes are best close honey.

Nadya says, "
I just like to say that this is a general concern, or approach to logistics, surrounding something that was said earlier. This isn't written to be some scathing critique, but more of a confused perspective on what was actually put on paper here. I just ask for patience for my misunderstandings, should they be there. No offense is intended, and is written for the sake of conversation, and clearing the air."

Janus claims, "
Nnnnice."

Nadya states, "
As mentioned in the chat earlier, position of 1st GLs are being considered for being removed. I don't think I can really agree with it. The power of the Seneschal is rising, and it feels like not enough leeway is really being given to the general council, if the plan comes to change. ... For example, the only people who would reasonably come to a City Council meeting and have an affect would be Nobility (And some have even RP'd sleeping through said meetings already.) and the seneschal. It cuts down on the overall power GL's are supposed to be able to command respect. I don't mean this as a mean criticism, but I do think all sides of it should really be heard first. Because if that's the case-- Then we lose the following roles: Grand Inquisitor, Earl Marshal, Tenebrae, Manus, Prime Medicus, Grand Magnate, Justicar and so forth. "

Nadya states, "
Are those really parts of the theme we should consider getting rid of? It feels as though it would detract from the already lacking perspective of the council, and devalue politcal play. Let alone the effects of removing key roles from key thematic areas. ... So, I'd instead, offer that there be a Synod equivalent to each guild. A means for staff intervention, and a 'board of directors' style means of having key elements to limit factors of play, rather than getting rid of some of the more important factors of the Council and political play."

Heydan has returned from AFK.

Heydan says, "
Back"

Temi declaims, "
We wouldn't be removing those roles!"

Nadya states, "
Wait waht."

Kinaed trails off, "
I think I missed the memo..."

Nadya says, "
Oh god. I'm stupid."

The Dean clears his throat to remind everyone he's totally a legit GL.
[Percival]

Eirian says, "
I think there was a misunderstanding."

Temi says, "
We would potentially be making the Justiciar the Justiciar of Lithmore, not the Justiciar of the whole Kingdom"

Kinaed states to Nadya, "You're not stupid, no stress."

Nadya says, "
Someone take me behind the shed, please."

Vicannia trails off, "
So basically the same thing..."

Kinaed says to Temi, "I think it was just discussed too, no decisions were made."

Temi nods in agreement with Kinaed.

Evani takes Nadya behind the shed... and sounds insue.

Vicannia says, "
At least with the cardinal it made sense for the chance icly."

Niamh trails off to Evani, "Whoooa there..."

Azarial claims, "
Probably inline with keeping the focus on lithmore city itsel"

Evani states, "
I didn't say nothin'."

Temi states, "
Yeah, we are not agreed on it. But we did not even discuss removing the 1st GL roles altogether."

Nadya states, "
Awritey! I must've misread stuff."

Kinaed claims, "
Yeah, that's definitely not happening."

Nadya pontificates, "
Also!"

Vicannia rolls eyes at the mention of keeping rp focused on lithmore city "
Only so much can be done with a single location before we end up repeating."

Nadya declaims, "
Shoutout to the GL's! YOu doin' great!"

"
Can't be deguildleadered if you're not in a coded guild!" Percival says, winking to Nadya.

Nadya exclaims, "
2GL's too!"

Evani wonders, "
I is tryin' mmkay?"

Evani claims, "
My damndest."

Kinaed says, "
I think that anything around that is in such a larval state that discussing it is a waste of time."

Kinaed states, "
Staff aren't removing 1st GL roles."

Kinaed claims, "
Staff have not really gotten into any depth of discussion on altering roles either."

Kinaed says, "
All that happened was a player suggested it; staff mentioned it'd crossed our minds, but that's as far as it has gone."

Nadya states, "
Awritey. it was just a misunderstanding. But nonetheless, I hope it added something to the conversation to be had-- An alternative approach, should it be discussed."

Kinaed nods at Nadya.

Kinaed says, "
No worries; thank you for sharing."

Nadya states, "
Didn't want to just complain! Tried being constructive."

Kinaed declares, "
Okay, next up - Heydan!"

Kinaed says to Nadya, "Nah, don't stress about it. We're not upset. Just want to make it clear nothing has happened in that space."

Temi nods in agreement.

Evani trails off, "
So much research..."

Temi says, "
The only issue is we don't want you guys stressing about that."

Kinaed nods at Temi.

Heydan says, "
I would like to see an outskirts or outside of Lithmore City get it's own metric. Since the boons and the hicks that live out there are kind of their own thing and then those that play/operate outside the city can affect their metrics directly without having to go into town. It may also expand the game for more people to outside the city. Just a thought."

Nadya says, "
I'd imagine that the overall health of the metrics affect Lithmore in its entirety, not just the city."

Steven states, "
Id prefer to see a return of noble court and kingdom wide stuff honestly."

Temi questions, "
Meaning.. a full set of metrics? Or a specific metric for outskirts?"

Rothgar muses, "
How many people play on the Outskirts to make that worth it?"

Steven says, "
Removal of that was a rather disappointing hit to rp"

"
I think the staff are all about driving play inside the city. If you spread it out there are fewer players to play with." Percival says.

Janus declares, "
Yo, the outskirts are mine. Hands off!"

Taunya claims, "
I think kingdom-wide metrics would makee sense. especially for assets outside of the city."

Evani trails off, "
Hey'so much research..."

Nadya states, "
But that's already the existing metrics, though."

Evani claims, "
I want chocolate."

Vicannia states, "
We already do kind of see the metrics affecting the whole kingdom.."

Kinaed has transferred Riette. [OOC]

Heydan states, "
I agree with Taunya. I just feel the system could be expanded so that people with low IP like myself can still affect it even while outside a player rich area."

Kinaed says to Riette, "We're talking about city metrics being added for the outskirts of the city."

Empena questions, "
Environment, maybe?"

Namaka states, "
If you have low IP, you can't influence things. That's the point of the influence system."

Nadya says to Heydan, "Well, here's the thing. You can already do that with connections and contributing to rumor."

Niamh has created a fine wooden coin display box with delicate pewter hinges[1].

Niamh gives a fine wooden coin display box with delicate pewter hinges to Riette.

Empena states, "
For all those tree hugers who want to support ... the park or such and whatnot."

Temi claims, "
The existing metrics certainly affect the other surrounding areas, and other domains. It's not direct tht they are exactly the same, but they would follow."

Margaux says, "
Too many metrics will dilute the system, I feel."

Evani says, "
Love your creations Niamh. :D"

Niamh highfives Evani.

Vicannia says, "
I mean if you have a metric that relies on race relations, ie trade_fleet, it does affect how much silver you make if race relations are low... which is a kingdom-wide problem."

Evani grins

Heydan says, "
Not dramatically of course, but maybe during events like the Spring Awakening placing along the roads into town like mine might get a weeks worth of asset growth due to the influx of people from other smaller towns heading into the city for the major event."

Nadya states to Heydan, "If you don't have political clout, then you shouldn't really affect politics. Too many votes will make the votes of the council and every influential person semi-worthless."

Namaka states, "
Spread rumours, buy the influence, gain support. It's supposed to be harder for freemen to affect anything. They're only freemen."

Vicannia agrees with Namaka

Nadya declaims, "
But!"

Nadya pontificates, "
You can totally get influential allies!"

Niamh claims, "
I think I would personally rather that we focused moreso on encouraging things to happen inside the city. Keeping things more central, rather than spreading out wider. Not to say RP in the mountains or Wilhelm is bad by any means, but that it's probably healthier to have the population routinely focused where other people are."

Heydan states, "
We are freeman and outside the city is where we would have influence if anywhere I'd think."

Niamh ponders.

Rothgar queries, "
Again, how much would this affect? 2 players? 3? I mean, I'm not demeaning the attempt, but like... To what end?"

Steven questions, "
Would be cool if we removed ip influence on metrics and added a vote for representatives of the quarters maybe?"

Kinaed says, "
That sort of thing seems appropriate to the plot system, but it has a flaw in that it relies on people in the game to actually initiate those things."

Steven states, "
Those folks being sitting council members."

Temi states, "
Everything on grid is 'Lithmore' though. It would be directly in Lithmore's shadow on effects."

Janus says, "
Not to be a downer, but is anyone else worried that the metric system is creating a 'monster of the week' effect? It seems like every week the metric is imbalanced again and some new thing is catching on fire."

Vicannia claims, "
If roads are piss poor, it affects the roads leading out of lithmore as well"

Margaux states to Janus, "Super concerned."

Taunya says to Janus, "
I kind of agree."

Empena states, "
I'd agree that it seems like a choose your own destroyer scenario."

Nadya claims, "
That's because we're dealing with a limited pool."

Rothgar says to Janus, "Mm."

Margaux says to Janus, "One of the 10 reasons I stepped down in fact."

Vicannia trails off to Janus, "Yeah I do agree..."

Niamh states to Janus, "I think that's been my bad. I'm still over-excited about plots and go scorched earth every single time."

Heydan says, "
I honestly do not think it would affect many players, but it would offer a reason for people to ever so often venture out there to change the metric to their liking while the majority still in town keeping the main base there."

Evani snorts. "
Niamh, quit burning things.'

Kinaed exclaims, "
I suppose it's bad when my first response to that was 'it's working!'"

Niamh hides a bit.

Nadya states, "
More votes won't create a difference in it, the fact of the matter is that it's a limited pool."

Kinaed coughs.

Vicannia trails off, "
But then we have the issue metrics originally presented which was month long issues that eventually everyone got tired of... it's a very hard thing to balance"

Empena wonders, "
Why are metrics a limited pool and not like .. Bids or Gambits a percentage of the total?"

Temi claims, "
I am concerned with that, but I don't think new things need to explode or go terrible every time, to show the effects on the city."

Heydan claims, "
Since there are so few of us outside of town I don't think we could effectively change the metric that often."

Riette says, "
Seems easy enough to fix. Longer cycles between plots related to metric situations."

Nadya states to Heydan, "But that's the point."

Kinaed says to Empena, "So that it wouldn't be endlessly additive."

Niamh says, "
I've made a pledge to myself, in significant part due to feedback from the Seneschal, to keep the city metric monthly from always being some horrific thing. If it's down under 5%, sure, but otherwise some mild visibility is fine."

Eirian says, "
Variety is the spice of life."

Empena states, "
Sure, but you could have a maximum, versus the idea that you have to choose that something always has to be terrible."

Evani says, "
You miss are a firebug."

Nadya claims to Heydan, "You need to be able to go out, and get contacts with the people. If you want to be able to affect metrics, you need to be able to gain political clout. Join a guild, and speak with your fellow guildmates and guildleaders. Convince them its in their best interests."

Kinaed states, "
The city influence thing, which works a lot like bid influence, will be generally faux additive - meaning people can bail all metrics out in a period, the stuff just disappears at the end of the metric cycle."

Margaux hugs Niamh.

Steven states, "
Keep in mind the tubori quarter fire seems more a chance to redesign it"

Evani claims, "
Yus"

Steven says, "
Than something punishing"

Kinaed states, "
I can share that change in the works with all players if you like."

Temi nods at Steven.

Empena asks, "
Did players lose property in that?"

Niamh claims, "
The Freeman riots were suitable because Class Relations were at 3%. The Infrastructure plot was "Oh hey, this is the lowest, so I'll use it to redesign the Quarter." Entirely unfair on the players who face the fallout iC."

Margaux says to Heydan, "Or start rabble rousing the freemen at the tavern."

Niamh says, "
Well, "player." Not players."

Niamh hugs Margaux.

Temi says, "
The Tubori quarter needed more love than it had. It wasn't as detailed and atmospheric as the other foreign quarters, so we were excited to get some awesome in there."

Nadya says to Heydan, "Sequestering yourself in the borderlands of lithmore stops you from being able to participate in politics. So, go into down, and make a fuss! Rabblerouse the people! Gain influence. It's a bit bumpy at first, but everyone gets a hang of it.l"

Niamh nods at Temi.

Temi says, "
It's not meant to be that size every time."

Vicannia shrugs "
Another reason the Seneschal needs more power... If they are to be blamed everytime something goes wrong, well might as well give them something to counter that nonsense."

Nadya states, "
Also. I can't wait to explore the new Quarter."

Rothgar questions, "
By... Ousting GL's?"

Temi states, "
Besides, blame the Tubori, not the Seneschal. Those dirty Tubori clearly can't keep things up."

Evani states, "
Excuse me."

Kinaed claims, "
I've just opened the change for City Influence - it's as per the forums, though the forums didn't really respond to the idea."

Bertrand pontificates, "
Hey!"

Janus trails off, "
I'm not arguing that they're bad events, they were really fun, but they can be over stimulating or overly large or have lasting negatives, like that infrastructure thing..."

Riette exclaims, "
They have an herb for that!"

Azarial claims, "
Nothing like a drunmk knocking over candles in the hayloft."

Niamh nods at Janus.

Heydan states to Nadya, "I didn't mean to make a fuss or anything, but rather just a way to increase my profits."

Evani says, "
I liked the event."

Evani states, "
I actually got to do something."

Bertrand makes a note to unite his people in an uprising and burn down the inferior quarters starting race riots.

Sauvaige is idle.

Heydan claims to Nadya, "I may be freeman, but I need money. I want to expand."

Temi says, "
We will take a commitment to make the next few things a little smaller, though."

Evani joins

Niamh claims to Janus, "I can't disagree there. When things get really bad, like they did with Class Relations, appropriate. When they aren't actually that bad, like they were with Infrastructure, no so good."

Niamh nods in agreement with Temi.

Janus claims to Heydan, "Then become gentry. Freemen don't have money."

Nadya says to Heydan, "I'm giving you a pep-talk. But, please, you're outside of the city. You -do- need to interact with the city. Politics may not be the place for that, so instead of politics, focus on selling goods."

Kinaed says, "
Okay, is that everyone? Wow, we're over the top of the hour. I wasn't watching."

Riette claims, "
I am not seeing something about city influence."

Temi says, "
Though, to be fair.. everyone did rally and get a ton of RP out of the Tubori quarter it seems."

Kinaed muses to Riette, "Bug 212 on the Bug Board didn't open?"

Evani giggles.

Evani states, "
I only plotted, though. Sad bear"

Riette declares, "
I don't see it!"

Sauvaige is no longer idle.
Sauvaige has returned from AFK.

Heydan questions, "
I'm good and I'll be at the event when does it start?"

Azarial says, "
Uise 'all'"

Kinaed has redirected a note, City Metric Bids, on the Bugs board.

Azarial says, "
'players' is not a valid target"

Kinaed states to Azarial, "I know."

Namaka claims to Heydan, "Most people just aren't going to venture out of the city to visit a pub owned by a Hillman. You've set the difficulty level on your character concept very high."

Evani rubs face

Rhaine is idle.

Evani claims, "
I like events, but ... they are so spamtastic."

Nadya states, "
I've said my peace on that. I don't necessarily think that adding more votes will really do much more than dillute the pool. But I think it's a very good start."

Azarial claims, "
You can come into town to seel the excess"

Kinaed claims, "
Okay, we've used up our hour for this week."

Kinaed claims, "
It's time to return to the realm of the grid until next week. :)"

Safir says to Heydan, "As a savage that used to run a pub outside the city, it totally can be done. Don't give up. "

Taunya waves.

Kinaed claims, "
Thank you for coming everyone. If you haven't read the matchmaking spec, go ahead and grab it.
