I'd like to suggest that charisma have no relation to your appearance. Better yet, appearance should be an advantage all on its own, bought in char gen with an amount of XP to be decided upon.
Constitution should remain, and to get a full five you'd have to have 60.
APP 1: 2,000xp
APP 2: 4,000xp
APP 3: 6,000xp
APP 4: 8,000xp
APP 5: 10,000xp and have 60+ con.
The reason for this is because it feels very odd having a character who I don't really play as extraordinarily suave with a 90 charisma because I wanted to play him as a pretty boy.
Charisma, and Beauty
Let me second this concept but with a slight change.
App should default to a level based on your cha, but you should be able to buy appearance above and below your cha for XP.
This would:
1) Let people play charismatic but ugly people (like Hitler; but don't play Hitler)
2) Let people play beautiful but uncharismatic people (like a really unpleasant supermodel)
3) solve the problem of 'my character is supposed to be gorgeous but I don't have the XP for max cha... I'm going to mysteriously improve majorly in app over play!)
4) Still give cha a benefit related to appearance that makes it worth buying.
So your cha is 60. You default to app 3. You can buy app 4 for, say, 5000 xp or app 5 for 10000 XP; buy app 2 for -2000 or app 1 for -4000. (Why dissimilar? Well, I think if we rewarded a full 5k for app 2 everybody'd be app 2, but if we only required 2k for app 4 everybody'd be app 4).
So you buy app 5 at a cost of 10k. Let's say you raise your cha later until you default to app 4. Now you get 5k back because XP is floating and the difference between your default app and official app is 2 levels, not 1.
What do people think?

I still think you'd be left with too few reasons to buy cha though. If there was more of range of App numbers then maybe that'd work, but without it...
Though I guess we'd now be able to have app 7 chars lol.

You're just a fine wine then. Getting better with age. :)3) solve the problem of 'my character is supposed to be gorgeous but I don't have the XP for max cha... I'm going to mysteriously improve majorly in app over play!)
Cha:
1) Raises your default appearance (under this scale)
2) Controls your total influence cap
3) Controls influence per week gain cap
4) Discounts rumor cost
5) Increases rumor effectiveness
6) Is often rolled in RPA
7) Is implicated in a certain low-level spell that is a big favorite of mages everywhere (you know the one I mean)
8) Limits teaching to charisma% of your total ranks
Believe me, cha's FAR from useless...
And I was actually proposing keeping the 1-5 appearance (you would buy an app level, not an adjustment), but I wouldn't be against broadening it to a 1-10 scale for more variability or anything.

To note, re: people affected, my thought is nobody's current app would change unless they wanted it to - you'd default to the same app as your charisma promises, just you'd be able to actively purchase up or down.
Not to hog the convo, but I did want to clarify that in case it wasn't clear.

Well i truly do not like this idea much
My main reason for this is because i sense this will be something similar to the guild skill. If it does not change anything already in game i see no problem. But also i think it is like when you create your character and stats you have to truly think if you want your character with high app then you have to sacrifice your other stats
