As of now the purposes and use of candles leave the market for them at pretty much zero. Something that I would LOVE to see added is a @scent tag, similar to @apply but for the room in which the candle is lit. This would allow chandlerers (not a word...?) to create aromatic candles that don't just look that way but also change the room to reflect it.

For example, say I just lit a candle in this room, and the candle has an @scent of "The aroma of spicy warm gingerbread rich with nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar fills the air with a comforting essence of heat, emanating from a three-inch pillar candle."
A Kitchen in the Merchants Guildhall
[Warmed by the ovens]
Wood floorboards, recently swept, cover the ground in this spacious
kitchen, meeting the four stone walls neatly to form an elongated square.
Occupying the center of the room are two long tables set end to end,
providing ample space for the preparation of food. Very little wallspace
is left between the series of iron, clay and brick ovens arranged in a row
along the south side. Pots, pans and cooking utensils hang from pegs above
the ovens, arranged by size and type. The west wall bears rows of
cupboards and cabinets for storing dishes and dry ingredients, and to the
east, large porcelain basins keep company with a long counter for drying
things.

The aroma of spicy warm gingerbread rich with nutmeg, cinnamon
and brown sugar fills the air with a comforting essence of heat, emanating
from a three-inch pillar candle.

Yes please! I'd love to see this for things like pot pourri and incense as well, that could be added under chandlery.

Pot pourri recipes would also provide a lot of uses for the endless number of flowers we currently have no real utility for. This would be SO fantastic.
