Local in messengers

A minor thing but many a time I'm trying to do a quick messenger and I type L to look at the room I'm in and it resets the local on the messenger. I propose that local require typing local rather than any abbreviation if that's possible.

.. me too. But I'm not sure we CAN do this without some serious programming intervention that it might not warrant.
