Code: Select all

New command to replace xblocks:

accept <string>

This command exists to:

1) trigger an act for mprogs, so please make sure act() will work with it.
2) Posts a post on the crimelab:
Kinaed accepted in Room 3501 on Sat Jan 22 2011 13:31 with the string: consequences of bluebird entry
3) Tell the player "Your acceptance has been logged."

Rakkan, new way of doing xblocks:

1) Everywhere an xblock exists that it makes sense that someone might want to
RP there, and the xblock would stop them, make an appropriate message that
targets why they wouldn't be allowed and force them to "accept" to be moved
   past the xblock. Example:

The Bluebird's Ballad is a posh, upperclass establishment. $char_name
may face ridicule, arrest, or other consequences for entering here. If you
still wish to enter the Ballad, type "accept consequences of bluebird entry".

I think this is great. To what extent would it work though? What are the consequences for wandering into a GH where you don't belong, for instance?

I'm not certain. I think all players should have uber-authoritay in their guildhall. What do you think should happen? Any special guild commands we should add to support this properly? Etc.

Perhaps the guards of the guilds can be set by the guildleader to either attack on sight, detain, eject or do nothing. Though, I am curious whether -everyone- should be denied access to all guild halls. Let us suppose the Queen wants to visit the Merchant's Guild. Should she be denied? Would she be attacked on sight? Perhaps this very reason is a mark against the idea of guild guards having an attack on sight order.

To be honest, I do not think players should ever be able to enter another's GH without being brought in by a member or requesting imm assistance, period. The GH, especially with guilds such as Reeves, Brotherhood, Knights, etc, would probably be crawling with members who just can't be online all the time. Attacking guards can easily be ignored by someone with 81 defenses.
