I shared this on the General Board but figured this is a better place for it. It's from when I played Rubeus Manus on TI:A. Credit for the log goes to Dragondazd.

Marsen Marthenson claims, "I'll tell you the one I was taught.
Whether it is true or not I do not think really matters. What matters
is it could be."

Marsen Marthenson claims, "The Seven, when they existed, were an
organisation not unlike ours."

Nicholas Lyonsmane nods his head for Marsen Marthenson to continue.

Marsen Marthenson says, "They strove to unite mages under one banner,
so that knowledge could be furthered and influence in the Kingdom
assured."

Marsen Marthenson claims, "And like us, their quest for unity meant
their members came from many idealogical backgrounds."

Marsen Marthenson states, "Now over time, these differences grew to be
divisions, and mages began to fall into different camps."

Marsen Marthenson claims, "At the same time, the countryside was
witnessing the rise of a new religion, one that flamed old hatreds for
magic and its kind. A predecessor of sorts to the Order."

Nicholas Lyonsmane is clearly attentive, even if his gaze is directed
at the floor... he finds himself nodding, as if at least familiar with
these ideas.

Marsen Marthenson states, "Mages were became the victims of
discrimination. Violence was done to some, others had were defrauded
or refused buisness"

Marsen Marthenson states, "Yes well, the natural reaction to this
persecution was exactly what you mention."

Marsen Marthenson says, "Violence was met with violence, fraud with fraud."

Marsen Marthenson states, "It was a cycle that fed itself, and fed the
unnatural division between mages and non mages."

Marsen Marthenson claims, "Now obviously, as things escalated the
Seven showed concern about this.

Nicholas Lyonsmane trails off, "Of course...

Marsen Marthenson queries, "Remember with Ein, how we felt we had
three options?"

Marsen Marthenson muses, "Murder, bringing him in, or inaction?"

"I only ever believed in one," Nicholas Lyonsmane retorts, but nods.
"But yes, I remember." [Player]

Marsen Marthenson says to Nicholas Lyonsmane, "The Seven faced a
similar challenge."

You ask, "What became of him anyway...?"

Marsen Marthenson claims, "He's a member now, though with some restrictions."

Marsen Marthenson states, "At least until he is totally trusted."

Marsen Marthenson claims, "So murder, acceptance, or inaction."

You pauses only after Marsen Marthenson's mention of the Seven again
to say to herself. "Ah. I see."

Marsen Marthenson trails off, "Equivalently, they had a campaign of
force and intimidation, of kindness and charity, and of..."

Marsen Marthenson claims, "I'll use the word hiding, but that's not
what I mean exactly."

Marsen Marthenson states, "Perhaps ignoring. Some felt that this new
religion would lose its support if mages did not give it their
attention, and if they simply tried to avoid confrontation."

"But it didn't," Nicholas Lyonsmane offers helpfully, brow furrowed. [Player]

Marsen Marthenson claims, "No position had the support of the majority."
