As per a request, here is a synopsis of the mad mage's life who spent his last few years a hermit in the Manus tower.

He was born in Daravi, near the borderline. His mother died during childbirth, and his father was forced to steal for a living. They never had food, and they never had a home. By the time he could talk, he was already being rushed out of the country into Farin, as his father was wanted throughout most of the Sultanate, and by the time he could understand what was going on, he had ended up in the forest of Jaren.

He spent most of his life in a cave, as his father didn't trust having a full cabin, for that would attract too much attention to himself, and the people of Lithmore might become suspect to them. Sappir became very introspective during this time, and developed an affinity to the Earth like his mother had, but by the time he became aware of it, his father was captured by Lithmore and burned at the stake for witchcraft.

At this point, Sappir was utterly alone. He was just barely capable of taking care of himself, and at age 12, completely secluded himself from the world. It wasn't until he hit puberty that he felt the stirring to find company. At first, he didn't know what to do, as he had only ever known the company of his mostly absent father, and the animals around him. He immersed himself in the wilds, and let it overtake him, and on his seventeenth birthday, became discontent with his loneliness.

Totally inept with social graces and even a basic grasp of the Lithmorran language, he watched the city for months before eventually taking a chance, and using his carefully honed skill as a woodcrafter to secure himself a place as a tradesman. At first, he was unaware of his situation, but quickly realized that people were looking at him strangely because of his vivid citrine eyes. With a glamour of air, he went about his life as normal, and tried to live with the group of people again with the excuse of a simple trick of the light, and passed for lithmorran with his pale skin.

What had almost passed as normal life for a Lithmorran deeply bothered Sappir, and he knew that it couldn't last much longer. He could find no mate, and the only kindness he had encountered was in Artien, whom had funded him to get a small hawking shop going. For reasons I cannot quite recall, he was found out as a mage, and left the city to linger in the Manus tower, afraid to leave. It was there he met Raidon Laret.

Raidon trained him in the ways of the Void, and he immersed himself in it deeply, often going into week-long bouts of study in the tower's library with no rest. He grew emaciated with his time engrossed in ancient books, and slowly won over the leadership of the Manus with his findings. He taught the Void to any who approached him, and grew to become the Archmage of Void, the first of seven to sit on the first council of his time. He kept the keys to the tower, and spent the time when he wanted to be alone in a grove he constructed behind the tower, watching the eternal moon that hung in the endless night sky.

Up until this point, his craving for the opposite sex was unfulfilled, and his lack of social grace made it painfully obvious to those around him. The then Rubeus offered to find him a mate, to which he accepted emphatically. Thus, his union with a young Air mage name Whisper came to be. He was intensely protective and attentive to her, always at her side, and actually growing to love her. By the time of his death, he had given her a ring, and had asked her to marry him.

At the point of his absolute mastery of his element, he was supposedly insane, and his brother in Fire disliked his new attitude as a living embodiment of shadow. He skulked through the city as a the darkness and took victims, stripping them of flesh and making cruel totems from their remains, increasingly disturbing his fellow mages, and leading his brother to betray him.

One day in the library, finishing work on his grimiore of Lunare, he was contemplating the news he had been given that his mate was pregnant. The brother in Fire approached him behind a mask and compelled him to submit to shackles, evoking fire to blind him at the same time. He was lead to the cardinal's office, and had the door locked behind himself, leaving the stranded Sappir without hope.

He spent a precious few weeks in 'the Hole' in the tower, chuckling and gibbering in Eld to those who tried to question him, and denying all efforts to extricate any useful information from him. He was set to the pyre only shortly after his incarceration, foiling any attempts at rescue, and leaving his fiance without a father to her still unborn child. He died in the embrace of the shadows, cackling madly as the fire burned him to ashes.

(Sorry about the format and any errors. Just wanted to get it done.)

A fun read. Always interesting to read back stories! Didn't really get why he turned to making totems out of people though, he just went mad completely? What drove him over the edge, with love and a child coming around the corner and all?

Wow, an incredible story. I wish more players would post these!

I'm going to move it to the fan art section, and I've awarded some QP. Thanks again!

What a perfect time in his evolution to be killed. Storywise, that is - probably sucked a bit. :D

He became obsessed with his dark druid motif, and he could hear the whispering of the Void telling him to do it. His personality split when he gained the ability to become darkness, the shadow becoming another part of him while it slowly drove him insane from the second set of thoughts in his head... Think Gollum.

Man, I now wish I had found TI: Legacy sooner. This seemed like such an interesting character.
