Skills on creation
Hi all, Now that LBU is starting to come along more reasonably than it had at creation, I wanted to raise the subject of being able to purchase skills on creation. I think that everyone would agree, firstly, that being able to purchase skills in creation as a general concept is great and that nobody...

Re: Death in Childbirth
And there are miracle orderlies to drag every single bleeding person to the hospital, etc. (Going to go off on a tangent here, on the quote above.) Really? Not sure I like that... On one hand, while I don't think people should bleed to death, I also don't think it is appropriate for there be a mech...

Re: Policy Twink File for Review/Question/Comment
Quick question, just on one specific that isn't explicitly covered; and that is attacking/arresting without prior rping with the person in the room. On the flip side, leaving/fleeing (not directly from combat, as that is mentioned in the policy) when someone wants to RP an attack/arrest with you. I ...

Re: Messenger Proposal Spec
Thank you, This would be quite useful, especially the 'receive' function. As someone with frequent connection problems due to mudding while travelling, I'm often in the situation where I'm getting messengers while link dead and thus not hearing the actual messages. I often never know unless someone ...

Re: Death in Childbirth
I personally wouldn't be keen on seeing something such as this come down to the vagaries of code, at least not as an absolute. 'Sorry, you're going to die in childbirth.' No doctor online? Too bad for you. However, I wouldn't mind code generating some results to give an idea (based on stats like con...

Re: Roles - Developed for a Different MUD - Opinions?
I could see it working, but in a more limited manner due to the entrenched feudal system as opposed to the yearly (or sometimes longer) rotation of power associated with Republic-era Rome. It would certainly work pretty well for guilds that are actual guilds for their members (such as merchants, tro...

Re: Dance Skill
Firstly, speaking as a bard (Herazade) that is primarily a dancer, I do find the current setup using footwork somewhat frustrating. I can't currently pool it without breaking concept utterly, so will be pleased above all to have a way of building the skill up. Still, moot point, as nobody is arguing...

Re: Practicing Instruments Minigame
From what I understood, this would be in addition to Learn by use? ie, something a bard can do when they don't have RP going on. Correct me if I'm wrong, Kinaed?

Re: Dance Skill
Thank you, this will be awesome, and very much appreciated! I hope that I haven't been too much of a greasy wheel about this one. I do think that the code support for dancing with other players will be particularly appreciated widely.

Re: TI Call Out
Thanks Kin and Estelle! Easter Eggs would be fun. Perhaps we can switch things up theme-wise for April Fools Day or something, imms (and then say it never happened)? :P Anyway, Amdair has taken up the gauntlet, and I believe our late Daravi sultan may be making a cameo as well. So... bring it, boys,...
