Re: Lawless Areas

I would like to note that I am specifically very against arrests not being performable in the area. These other options are primarily based off what NPCs in the area might do, and that works for me. But limiting arrests stops a PC from taking an action that is completely feasible - nothing would ICl...

Re: Quick- finish consumables

Yes, absolutely! Though I might propose a couple changes: 1) eating fast would get you all of the MV back; why not? You did pay for the item (or somebody did!) 2) It would be nice to have a version of drink where you could drink 10 fountain, for example, and that be the equivalent of drinking 10 tim...

Re: BDSM aka getting spanked by religion

I really like the scarlet letter idea for lesser sins. Though you might not want it on Churchy spies... or people will behave too well around them. ;)

Re: BDSM aka getting spanked by religion

There definitely need to be some lower-level punishments, I think. Branding/flogging is super serious stuff. I like the idea of humiliation-based punishments - i.e., where you have to stand around and tell everyone who asks what you did. I suppose that somewhat overlaps with the stocks. Requiring fi...

Re: Religion

Thanks for the quick replies! What it comes down for to me is that I want to have a good reason to believe that it's okay to burn people at the stake - and that requires a sufficiently awful fate to save them from. If it's normal to believe they go to a cold dark miserable Abyss (no Satan figure nec...

Religion

So I'm playing a hugely religious character, and the other day I had a question that I felt was a big deal for my approach to RP but nobody seemed entirely sure about. So here it is: Does Davism believe in a hell? My two cents is that yes, they absolutely should, though it doesn't at all have to be ...

Re: Feedback on new combat system

Even a 50% hit rate for untrained skills is pretty huge against well-trained defenses, regardless of dex. To pick an example at random, fightmetric.com tracks the hit percentage of fighters in big MMA fights. Taking two people who should be expected to be operating at relatively similar levels, we g...

Re: Feedback on new combat system

The range resolution sounds totally ideal, more or less what I was drowsily thinking about before bed last night! Armor, I'm not too worried about. I do buy that it should increase move costs while fighting, as was said before, but to me it's not a huge hot-button issue. Nothing obnoxious here - tha...

Re: Feedback on new combat system

So, I'm going to be obnoxious and offer my opinion despite having done all of 2 spars in the new combat. (I did use old combat somewhat extensively, but that really isn't sufficient justification. I like to hear myself talk.) 1. I know this has been mentioned before, but I'd like to reiterate that t...
