Re: Exile and its Implementation
In our only practical example, six additional players potentially provided IP to initiate an exile - four of whom explicitly wrote in their IP pooling reason that they were supporting an exile. Whereas this type of information does not make it into the public sector, and no highly visible and publi...

Re: Exile and its Implementation
Also, more than "a push of the button" goes into getting the IP together to initiate an exile. It's a process with a lot of effort and RP behind it, just as there should be. Speaking about that effort in this manner trivializes the non-trivial. It feels trivial because the cost is too low, too easy...

Re: Exile and its Implementation
Exile in its current state is an awful feature that needs to be heavily revised or simply removed. It doesn't have a place in an RP-focused game. vNPCs should never be used to take agency away from players during a crucial plot point, especially not 'off-screen'. When a player is teleported to an OO...

Re: Automatically being hauled to the Madison from a phome
Physicians are able to move like any other PC and can go to those locations. If it is in a foreign quarter and race relations are low, they will not be able to go. If it is in Southside and the Physician is not a Freeman, they will not be able to go. To suggest that we recruit people who can visit ...

Re: Automatically being hauled to the Madison from a phome
I would like to suggest a command to be transported to the Madison that becomes available after 10 minutes and is only available when another player isn't in the room. That would give a player the choice of going to the hospital or waiting to be found on a case-by-case basis. Keep in mind that hauli...

Re: See door durability and/or lock difficulty
Personally it doesn't make sense to me that it would cost MV to look at a door. I like the idea of wrapping it up into Mercantalism with 'appraise north/south/east/west/up/down'. Those with high Mercantalism skill would realistically be able to identify the materials of the door, assess the quality ...

I really don't have problems with the change. Just type 'stand'.

Re: The Stranglehold of the Holy Order
Just no. I'm hurt that you would respond to my carefully considered feedback with something so flippant and dismissive. In the vein of having a mature, participatory conversation, let's please refrain from raising (particularly recent) IC situations, especially if the parties in question are emotio...

Re: The Stranglehold of the Holy Order
What I'm taking away from this discussion is that we should re-examine when it's appropriate for the Cardinal to intervene. I agree that having the Cardinal as a staff fail-safe to protect theme is important - removing that won't fix anything. However, if players have a problem that can be resolved ...

Re: The Stranglehold of the Holy Order
It's troubling to hear your experiences, Farra. I don't think that any Grand Inquisitor should have to fear the NPC Cardinal pulling on their leash every time a player complains that they didn't get their way. It undermines the authority of player leadership, and sounds like it contributes a lot to ...
