Re: Gentry and the Southside
Dunno why you're so focused on the GI spot, but like stated above your post, there's more than likely IC reasons for it, and it should be handled IC'ly. If you want to have the rabble attack the GI on sight, well, there's IC ways to make that happen. You'll have to deal with the IC consequences of ...

Re: Request: Appraising and Trademarks
Trademarks need a general overhaul, tbh, and folks have been clamoring for one for years. Would like to see improved display functionality overall.

Re: Gentry and the Southside
Freemen GLs who become gentry are treated solely as gentry for purposes of code. This would not be a source of access to Southside. There are multiple legitimate ways for a gentry char to gain access to Southside, from travelling in groups to disguises to guild pass tokens. It's hard to say when an...

Re: The future of whoinvis
I think it has some limited utility in protecting against passive metagaming of the wholist and that the benefits might slightly outweigh the cons. As I've argued elsewhere, years ago, I don't think anyone who is whoinvis should be granted any kind of IC protection from any IC means of targeting, in...

Re: Gentry and the Southside
The crux of the question was whether GLs who are Freemen have access to Southside, despite the fact that they sign with patronyms and get all the social benefits of gentryhood. The concern was that this was a loophole, allowing Freemen in public positions of power to enter Southside unchecked and wi...

Re: Why Are Assets Limited to Chargen?
Still think gentry should be entitled to a Tier 2 as part of the purchase price for playing gentry.

Re: Player Control over City Metrics
On my Freemen characters, I don't fuss about metrics. Living in less than stellar style is part of theme for that class, and I enjoy the struggle. Also, the roster assets are a huge help for anyone who eschews guilds. Where I see things getting a little more difficult is for folks who want to play g...

Re: Player Control over City Metrics
I should add that, as a personal strategy, I took an inverse of one of my assets, so that no matter how bad one tanked, the other would make up the difference. Dunno if that'd be useful to anyone else, but it made sense for my own character.

Re: Player Control over City Metrics
I'm not sure. I've never felt daunted, but then again, I play a member of the city council and therefore can spend a free action each cycle.
Maybe give everyone a free vote, but just make council members' votes worth more?

Re: Sharable recipe templates
An interesting idea. We already have "recipes." They're the items that populate crafting lists, which require various tools and ingredients to make. Those are the recipes. This sounds more like a request for saving custom strings for later use? I wouldn't mind a feature that allowed me to save my cr...
