If there has to be one, it should be NPC. The Order goes through people at a ridiculous rate. Cardinals are already big deals and they go through them like candy. An actual Patriarch wouldn't last. And finding players for GL Positions with the small player base, as someone else said, would be diffic...

Being above a certain weight or heavy armor should be determent to swim - increasing the number of MV required or something. There shouldn't be a way to auto NOT enter a room with water in it. It's not fair for someone who is wearing something that would make it MORE DANGEROUS for them to not be abl...

There's nothing they can do about making it fun to be bad (or good, for that matter). There are lots of options available; it's up to people to take them. Being bad is 'fun while it lasts' - that isn't going to change. If that's not fun enough for people, they should probably choose a different char...

Most of my examples were thief/baddie examples and not mage examples, Geras, because I'm not familiar with the mage system. The remark about mages not attacking people had to do with IC politics (the mantra of several Mage leaders has been no harm to civvies) being against such things, not that mage...

There are *plenty* of theme reasons to be afraid of mages. We've had towns burn down, we've had revenants attacking citizens, we've had mages go after characters (harassing them, killing them, etc.). I haven't seen it so much on this incarnation so don't know if options like changing the weather or ...
