Re: Combat, OOC Info, Helpfiles

You've never been married. Let's not get personal here, bub. In the end, I'm of the party that considers combat the part of a MUD that is meant to be a 'game'. It's meant to be difficult, quick to know but hard to master, and provide a challenge to your head. It advances the story by simply happeni...

Re: Suggestions for Magic

Coders are going to LOVE me. Feel free to add on, or change for balance. I have no idea how magic works in this incarnation, I'm just shooting ideas here. "drain" Uses a combat turn to attempt to gather somebody's blood into the first empty container in your inv. Requires a piercing weapon. "possess...

Re: Combat, OOC Info, Helpfiles

Do you like games that don't require any amount of skill? I sure don't. Investments that require large amounts of time instead of skill, like real estate, stock trades, marriage, and grandmastering every combat skill, have never been my thing. It's as easy as pie to make that OOC knowledge IC knowle...

Re: Combat, OOC Info, Helpfiles

That would put combat completely in the hands of code, and make it so whoever has the highest skill wins. Maybe I've read your suggestion wrong, but it'd be much better to eventually implement setting defenses specific to a person fighting you, so that you could dodge the attacks of one person, and ...

Re: Debrief - Invasion Finale & Palace Battle

First; lolwut? *flees!* *munches super bread!* *comes back and stomps heads* I wasn't involved with the quest at all so I can't comment, but from mattc's commenting, sounds like that could use a bit of balancing. Then again, I'm all for the WoW thing. =P On the flip side Matt, Kinaed is right - comb...

Re: new command - thank

Just thought I'd give this a bump. I am mostly interested in the thanking staff part. I can thank other players for their assistance by rewarding them QP, but I currently have no way to reward all the staffers I've been bugging the hell out of. Maybe there could be 'Staffer of the Month' titles, and...

Re: Introduce yourselves! :)

I'll bite >.> I'm nineteen, twenty in May (scary thought), and I currently live in the USA, in the backwater part called northern Nevada. Plan on moving to Oregon pretty quick here - real big on trees and the outdoors and I absolutely love the environment of the Willamette valley. I'm a nerd, watch ...

Re: The Poison Place

Nightpine (Petals) A rare offshoot of normal pine trees found in the peaks of the Tarn. Parasitic plant(fungi type?) that grows upwards like a narrow shrub, close to its host (usually trees), and sprouts spikey purplish spikes similar to pine needles. Within minutes of ingestion (usually crushed) ni...
