I think Another's more radical suggestions above has real merit from a game-design perspective, since it's even more directly supportive of emergent play. I like a lot of these ideas, but here's my spin on them. Abolish wealth and gentry as coded tags. Make all the benefits associated with both into purchasable perks. I would like to see temporary bonuses to a character's support value purchasable with silver, gold, rpxp, qp, or otherwise attainable. 'Help Player Houses' notes:
Locked doors, hidden rooms, libraries and keys cost additional and are NOT included in the base package. A basic purchase of a house has a room with a door and a 'bar' to wedge it shut.

Perhaps characters won't know by default who is supporting them, but they could find out by spending Influence Points, gold and silver, rpxp and/or QP. It would add one more level of depth to the whole scheme.

I always try to treat emotes as 3rd person, and also rely exclusively on /<target>. I would be all for this change.
