Re: Inactive in RP

Defending a change that pleases 10% of the people it affects and pisses off the other 90% is... certainly a bold position. As is demanding the vast majority capitulate to your prefered style instead of vice versa.

Re: In what circumstances should you deny a PC (cyan or otherwise) entry into a guild?

Nobody in this thread has asked you to give cyans a free ticket in, that's hyperbole. The situation that prompted this wasn't even involving a GL, so I'm not sure why that seems to be the focus of everyone's posts. A brand new cyan - not an alt of an experienced player - was denied mechanical progre...

Re: Inactive in RP

The progressive option is the one we already had: post within five minutes, get a bonus. What the vast majority are against is the penalty for playing how they want to play. With this rule in place, two people in a private scene that both prefer 15-minute effortposts are getting punished. Bad change.

Re: Inactive in RP

Can you see how this punishment would be taken as you telling others that their playstyle is an inconvenience? You're right - either way people are unhappy, which is why it's a bad rule.

Re: In what circumstances should you deny a PC (cyan or otherwise) entry into a guild?

It's a curious thing to say "It's unthemely to admit characters to a guild purely because it's what their parents did." in a game that also says "This is the position you were born in to, this is your station. If you deny it that is sinful and you are a heretic." In that kind of environment, "becaus...

Re: Inactive in RP

For the people on a time crunch, have you tried saying "Hey I've only got an hour - could we have a quick pace, please?" in Osay? Because if the answer to that is "No, I'm going to four-paragraph effortpost at you." then they're the asshole. Punishing the entire player base if they don't emote at yo...

Re: Jail Channel

That's my point - the chatter IS a plea for RP, just phrased in a less obnoxious and "passive aggressive" way. I'm genuinely asking - if you're not available for RP, why are you in the Jail channel?

In this context, we're talking about the sponsorship one needs to get before one can apply. GLs aren't involved until the seeker has their sponsor.

Re: Jail Channel

Do we want the jailbird to spam "Hello would anyone like to RP?" Or would we like them to remind people with access that they're available with some lighthearted conversation and something that'll bring a smile to 75% of faces? Because that's what the chatting is doing - it's a request for RP that's...
