Re: Inactive in RP
I think... that this one is a lot easier to follow/understand, and appreciate that you took the time to elaborate a little bit. @Kitty - You're generally awesome and I don't get this vibe from you in specific, actually. What I meant , and quite honestly failed to call attention to was that elsewhere...

Re: Inactive in RP
And to be frank, if we want to talk about social pressure, we can also talk about the OOC pressure those of us trying to timebox our play receive from others, as well as the strange IC reactions we sometimes receive. It has not been a welcoming environment. I, uhm. I... am sorry you have received s...

At the same time, we cannot say, "Joe absolutely must play this way because certain people in the game have less time in the game than others." We can ask Joe to be more OOCly polite about people's time, but we can't tell him he must play a certain way for the convenience of (insert subset here). It...

Re: Assets And Economy
If clothing, weapons, armor, what have you, had durability - they would have to be repaired once in a while or they get destroyed - that too could drive up demand, thus making crafting more profitable, furthermore making shops profitable (which is a seperate issue). NPC buyer... huh. It would need ...

Re: Assets And Economy
I am going to post this, not necessarily to add to the conversation, but to point it out because it appears people do not know... If you are one of those who was unfortunate enough to not understand the asset system when you created, have only your beginning tier 1 asset, and no others... you CAN de...

Lithmorran: "Damned nobility is quick to pull out a whip. The rest? They all turn up their noses at us, until they want our horses. Then, suddenly, we're the most important people on the Urth." Vandagan: "Barely keep their slaves fed and warm. Their stiff upper lip is paired with a stick up their as...

Re: Inactive in RP
Solutions that do not require code: 1) page someone to see if they are at the keyboard 2) notify someone to see if they are at the keyboard 3) If you don't like the pace, find an IC reason to leave and look for other people to play with 4) Initiate your own scenes with the people you enjoy playing ...

Re: Inactive in RP
I will also note that it feels like this has strayed a long way from, "People who idle out of scenes constantly," to "people that don't pose fast enough." While both were mentioned, it wasn't saying people weren't posing within 2 - 5 minutes, it said they weren't posing for 20. They are two entirely...

Re: Inactive in RP
To put all that together, how about we time people emotes when they have whererp on (either by location or by manually turning it on) and then if that counter is under 4 minutes they will get tagged like [SLOW], akin how [IAW} shows next to names. This way if I enter a scene and see that people are...
