Re: Rumor circles and auto spawns
I think a big complication with that is when rumors are "Public" it can be super hard to limit them appropriately. A "Public" rumor might have someone talkin' smack about a GL, but unless you, say, set the Merchant's Guildhall to ONLY spawn "Merchant" rumors, you'll get the improper "public" ones to...

Re: Suggestion: Bardic Right of Invitation into Ahalin
Physicians of a certain rank and above would also, arguably, be a good potential source of RP. That might be trickier as depending on what is needed (IE actually coded healing/treatment versus just RP stuff) as actual face-to-face might be required in some way. I absolutely agree! Just to try to (h...

Re: Mages and confessions
That thread did not begun as part of a mage VS order discussion, but as part of a clergy VS inquisition discussion. The case of confession only came up as an example of things where the inquisition forces an interpretation of the theme which may be an impediment to the flourishing of the clergy. Th...

Re: Suggestion: Bardic Right of Invitation into Ahalin
I'm fine with it, but I think it SHOULD be allowed in an escape plot. Escape attempts, as I understand them, are entirely judged by an escape roll.. When someone "assisting" with an escape has prisoner access, there is no on-grid RP required of the actual escape — this from 'help escape'. The above...

Suggestion: Bardic Right of Invitation into Ahalin
With a bit of time on my hands, I wanted to bring up the suggestion that Bards be given an RP-access to prisoners held in Ahalin Tower for the primary OOC purpose of enriching prison RP for the arrested party. Bards — and for this definition and for the idea I mean fully-Oppified Bards, not lower-le...

Re: Reversing the Autoguildings
Sometimes bugs happen and RP must adjust for their fix. So it goes, one of the things ya just gotta deal with, imho.

Re: Mages and confessions
Someone dragged unwillingly to the Pyre would not go to the Fontis and enjoy that splendor, but would at least be spared the damnation of being a mage I'm glad you agree with that idea! But it might worth noting that one of my acolyte was qualified heretic for saying this to a GI. Imagine your acol...

Re: Mages and confessions
Trouble is colluding with a mage makes you a bad Davite, but a good priest. A Priest who does not report a mage to a higher up is, thematically, being both a good Davite and a good priest. They are maybe not being a good HUMAN, wherein lies a lot of the fun conflict potential of playing Priest. In ...

Re: Mages and confessions
The decision to remark that a priest is committing a high sin by turning in a mage discovered through confession was a staff decision to enable a layer of thematic protection for priests, not to offer an avenue of no recourse for mages. Since that decision, both ic and ooc files have been worded to ...
