Re: In what circumstances should you deny a PC (cyan or otherwise) entry into a guild?
I guess my perspective of playing since may (so not long) is that being in a guild is really important to be connected to the grid and to rp, and also to be able to improve mechanically with guild skills. That is true, but it's also true that engrossing yourself into a guild too much can be as bad ...

Re: In what circumstances should you deny a PC (cyan or otherwise) entry into a guild?
There is just one big problem that people seem to forget. Almost all of the helpfiles for cadets, pages, students, acolytes, apprentices I have found and read, list that people are also there to learn. To learn how to behave properly, to find their motivations and development... There are many othe...

Re: Latency clarification
That's lazy though and requires zero effort from the latent player, just wait for a mage to find you. I'd much rather have proper guidance for new player so they know how latency manifests. Its kind of impossible to put the burden of finding a mage on the latent, because there's no way to detect a ...

Re: Latency clarification
I agree that mages should have some method to detect a Latent. If it was a spell, then it would have to be a universal one that any element could use. I kind of don't want it to be a spell though. Maybe just a chance when looking at an individual that they get a flavor message like '<element of lat...

Re: Web Based Mud Client
Sindome mudlient is pretty good by web standards, has option to dump log etc, and can be used to other games: http://pubclient.sindome.org/ (and seems that quite a few TI people already use it)

Re: Inactive in RP
Maybe there could be an option, like how we can request turns, for people who prefer or need the faster rp? Or, in reverse, we keep it as it is now, but with an option for "slow" scenes? Something that everyone has to agree to? Or... If it could be a bonus for under five mins.. Some xp for 5-10, an...

Re: Inactive in RP
I didn't realise that, no! But, still, that basically forces me to reverse how I naturally rp. With my friends in private I make long poses. I make shorter quicker ones in public scenes. What about if this didn't apply in !rp rooms (and some hand picked others like ahalin etc)? This way its guarant...

Re: Inactive in RP
We do understand that the change is 5 minutes since the last pose received, right? If you're in a crowded room you actually get much longer than 5 minutes to pose as the room is going on around you. But it isn't a change just for busy/public rooms. It's a change for those smaller 2 people or 3 peop...

Re: Unwelcoming Game
I suppose my experience has been different with TI, because I do for the most part feel that this community has been very welcoming to me, with prompt replies to all my queries in visnet. But yeah, culturally I think TI just isn't very much about the banter. I don't think that's unfriendly, its jus...
