Re: Lithmorran and You

This is something that I've actually encountered on-grid. It seems that whenever I make mention over tells, or assisting help-files, most of the non-savage players who choose illiteracy are actually not in the know of how rigid the teaching of lithmorran is. In Farin, which has the only instances of...

Re: [Poll] Theme Enforcement - the gentle approach

As for the talk of if it's thematic to be a heretic-- I don't really see why this was brought up as an issue. IC heresy is fine, even when blatant. It just isn't the norm, and don't be upset when the hammer of the church comes down on you. It's another, when it's heresy due to OOC circumstance, when...

Re: [Poll] Theme Enforcement - the gentle approach

Assigning broad names to people, such as 'Themedom Fighters' just encourages an 'Us v. Them' mentality that serves people very little, and just encourages people to be rude to one another on an OOC level as opposed to handling the issue at hand. I would prefer it if we addressed the issue directly, ...

Re: System RP Detractors

Agreed. An outright removal may not be the best of choices, because of how ingrained things are...

So far, it seems that quite a few people are suggesting that the Troubadours assist in moderation. However, this seems pretty open to abuse. How would it differ from the report command?

Re: System RP Detractors

Metrics exist as zero-sum, and vote-based, to stop everything from being in too fast of a flux to RP, and for there always being a need to balance things out. Your city votes, and your plots (I imagine in most cases, you can use the results of the plot to back up RP. Like getting the results before ...

Re: System RP Detractors

But you cannot expect people to simply honed to KNOW when to support someone. This only occurs when you make a show of needing help, through IC_Events and play, rather than having a chat between friends with no political motive. I just think that the mentality surrounding it needs to be somewhat... ...

Re: System RP Detractors

However, the outright removal of the rumor system detracts from one of the major ways for people to get IP, and to spend it. As for the issues with metrics/support: Sadly, there's very little you can do in this regard. personally, highlighting the word 'support' or 'influence' in conversation, and t...

Re: System RP Detractors

The rumor system as it stands relies very heavy on the honor system to work. Addressing Kuzco I believe that the circles system controls just who says rumors. It makes sense, since it makes the distinction between rumor-spreaders, that they draw from their available pool, rather than everything at o...

Re: Whoinvis Discussion General /WDG/

The intent of whoinvis, as per Kinaed's point, was being directly contrasted by its use. Hence the change. If a mechanic is used against its intended purpose, I think it's perfectly fine for it to be changed or altered to something more self-sustaining. The intent of the wholist, and whereRP is an i...
