Re: Log of OOC Meeting 2018-06-23
Good suggestions! I'm glad this was allowed to air out rather than fester, so we can learn from it and move on. I don't think it was Farra's intention to strong-arm anything, but I can understand how it could be interpreted that way. Repercussions if an advance fails can be RPed out ICly. They don't...

Re: Scent Hounds
I learned that on Mythbusters myself! haha
Though even so, perhaps like my suggestion of city streets, the chance of success could be lower in water.
Also, for a touch of nostalgia...

Re: Scent Hounds
Well, how I picture it working is using 'order (hound) trail' in each room, each step of the way. Each use will probably take... 30 seconds or so for the thread to finish and move to the next room if successful. (In other words, if you're following a trail for 30 rooms, it'll take at least 15 minute...

Re: Log of OOC Meeting 2018-06-23
Temi states, " B ut in general, if people choose to liquidate, they are the only one that can answer to it . " Theia questions, " T he staff shouldn't need to defend themselves. That is true. But the reason is because unless there is an issue with something dire happening in game, staff shouldn't i...

Log of OOC Meeting 2018-06-23
Temi asks, " O ur agenda for today is 1) Staff Updates, 2) Player Heartbeat, 3) Player Topics. I've already got a presubmitted topic here somewhere... anyone else want to get on the list now ? " Yeto says, " I d o " Theia claims, " I do to o " Temi nods at Yeto. Temi nods at Theia. Empena says, " M...

Re: Sniffing Potions
I'm not too familiar with magic potions, but it's already the case with herb stuff. If your rank is too low, then you might smell something is 'a bit off', but if it's high enough you have a chance to identify the ingredient it's been laced with.

Scent Hounds
What might be an interesting addition to the game is scent hounds, which have been used since the middle ages for tracking both game and humans. Two notable examples are the Bloodhound, which are used to this day, and the Scottish Sleuthhound (What the modern word sleuth gets its meaning from). The...

Re: Sniffing Potions
If, for example, sniffing a mundane potion revealed elements about its construction, but magical ones did not, that'd be tantamount to showing off what is and isn't magical — which seems against the spirit of the game, if nothing else. If all potions revealed their components or purpose or type or ...

Re: Great Grand Inquisitor? What made them Great?
Different people stood out in different ways. Besides what Kuzco said, I'd like to give a shout-out to Arlow, who was very open and inclusive in involving others in Orderly plots. I had a lot of fun wrapped up in things I hadn't had a chance to before or since.
