Re: [Poll] Theme Enforcement - the gentle approach

Thanks Niamh, I shall also heed your warning. That said, I would like this post to get back on topic. It is about theme enforcement and how that ought to be handled. Does anyone have anything more to raise on that point? Staff have clearly stated we are not the answer or an option for a solution, at...

Re: [Poll] Theme Enforcement - the gentle approach

Can you be more specific about which help files say "come to staff to resolve theme issues" as opposed to "staff will generally act in a themely manner and may choose to step in if required"? Happy to fix.

Re: [Poll] Theme Enforcement - the gentle approach

Rabek, I disagree that players cannot act against people "above" them. Got an unthematic GI? Subvert them and gambit them. Poison them. Frame them. The tools are around. Saying Staff should come act as theme enforcement on a players behalf is, in fact, the easy way out. Theme is woven arou...

Re: Astral Shops and Items

There's minimal interaction, not only because of balance, but for thematic reasons. The suggestions here would be counter to long established game physics and theme. Thematically, the astral realm is made of energy, and the physical realm is made of matter. Doors repel astral beings in the same way ...

Re: [Poll] Theme Enforcement - the gentle approach

Some interesting thoughts on this thread - thank you for posting. I find myself agreeing with the following points: - Staff cannot effectively enforce theme. Coming to staff is generally lazy. If your character notices something ICly out of whack, the tools to deal with it are either directly at you...

Re: Liquidation Policy

We have (rarely) allowed characters to return before provided we don't believe there is anything contentious about their returning and their reasons for liquidating were benign. In general, it is rare, and people who liquidate should NOT expect us to bring their characters back. It takes work and de...

Re: Theme Enforcement - the gentle approach

After today's OOC Chat and a Request Board post with concerns around this topic, I thought I'd play necromancer and raise this thread from the dead. To quote the original post: Hi Players, Lately, I've gotten a bit of pressure from various parties to take a stronger stance on enforcing theme, and we...

Lithmorran Home Security

AKA Traps So, players, if you wanted to be able to create traps to inconvenience burglars, what would you like to see? Let us know below! NOTE: Traps will only be able to be set in rooms you own unless you use RPA to set them elsewhere (to prevent players from doing things like trapping every room f...

Re: Whoinvis Discussion General /WDG/

Just a general reminder that "assigning intent to other people" (For example, "You're doing this because...") is considered a personal attack by TI staff, which comes under our Antisocial Behaviour rules. Please don't allow this post to distract from the original subject of this ...
