Re: Exile and its Implementation

For awareness, here is the current text of the Exile room: The IC Exile Safety Room [Comfortably warm] Characters who log into this room have been exiled (HELP EXILE) by the Seneschal of Lithmore. The character has found a place of physical safety. At this time, there are three options: 1) Accept th...

Re: Exile and its Implementation

It naturally skews towards the age of the character because QP is an accumulative system. In many ways, it's hard to determine who is a villain on TI. Certainly players "doing more stuff" with their QP tend to have less.

Re: Exile and its Implementation

It's a power of the Seneschal. In my view, it should take some effort to implement so as not to be a fully self-recharging repetitive ability, but it equally shouldn't require so much effort that it's only possible with the approval of half the pbase. I'm content if it requires 1-2 additional people...

Re: Exile and its Implementation

I'm not sure I understand what is being said here. In providing statistics, we naturally use this information for decision making in terms of design. This doesn't necessitate a "one size fits all" approach, but does provide information to help us establish reasonable system thresholds. In this parti...

Re: Exile and its Implementation

Being cautious about what information a staff member should share, but viewing this as important context to clarify misinformation for this discussion - it is not easy to get 25 IP. It is, in fact, much harder to get 25 IP than it is to get 25 QP, particularly when it comes to having IP on hand when...

Re: Exile and its Implementation

I think calling what's happening here "godmodding" and all of the other extreme rhetoric just... well, I don't see the world that way, and I'm not really sure there's a lot that will convince me that transfer as the result of an IC powerplay is the height of game design villainy. The player is being...

Re: Exile and its Implementation

There is no automatic death, just an option granted to a player to get 100% of their RPxp back for having created enough RP to earn it regardless of req_level. There were two other options available. Every single piece of "RP cut off" above would have been just as cut off if someone else had PKed th...

Re: Exile and its Implementation

Greetings, I haven't been available to field this (or even read it thoroughly, so my apologies for that off the bat) because I've started a new project irl while I'm still working at client site. From my skimming, some emails I've received, and staff commentary when I've logged in, I'd like to ask a...

Re: Exile and its Implementation

Hmm. In short - it happened because that's how the system was implemented, which we were open about. The request was submitted, reviewed, and deemed to ICly make sense given the known IC context. I gather some people disagree with that, which is their right, but it was a staff decision none-the-less...
